is it worth planning for next season now or is it still up in the air with what happens to the squads for season 2?

It's still up in the air at the moment I don't think a decision will be made till after all of this season's games.

Russ, If I'm allowed/have the authority to do so, I'll do the injuries for you using the randomiser everybody else uses...
Did you vote this week, otherwise I'll have to give you 4

Here we are Russ;
Chris Baird, Christian Zapata, Jermaine Defoe, Victor Moses. Apologies
I've already been relegated with Southampton anyway so I doubt I'd have got anything anyway Russ. You have put together a class side

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
Got to say I'm pretty dissapointed for what ever reason why Nick didn't get any tactics handed in, well at least on time if he does post them today/tomorrow. Reading/Stoke would have been game of the week with so many things riding on it!
Will be doing my predictions now, so if there are any tactics submitted between now & monday I will not be voting on them!

Hello all,
I have some predictions but would like some more, as there's still some 50/50 games in there. I will start writing up the live text at 6, so that's the deadline. All the games will be played at 8.

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
Hello all,
When I set this league up I didn't have a job, or uni and had a lot more free time. For various reasons, managers have stopped helping out with things such as injuries, foreign offers, foreign transfers etc. Thanks to Olly who has helped out massively amongst others.
However, due to my increased uni work and part-time job, I am going to step down from all running duties of this league as I simply do not have the time. If anyone else wants to take over, then they can do so and have free reign over the rules, whether the squads should be reset, days of the schedule, foreign transfers, everything. I would be happy to remain as a manager, handing in tactics and predictions etc. But that would be all I could input.
If anyone does take over, I would recommend a clearout of the league in terms of managers, five or six would probably either need to step up their game with regards to handing in tactics, predictions etc. or be replaced. Hopefully this league can finish with a positive note with a cracking FA Cup Final after a disappointing final gameweek.
Cheers,
OTW

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
Just need to get the FA Cup tactics posted this week, say Wednesday/Thursday ? then season 1 will be finished with.
Might be worth setting up a sign-up sheet and a feeback/comments section so everybody can have say leading into season 2 with the possibility of getting somebody to take over Trebs either running or co-running the league.
as Marky said, great effort Trebs, appreciate the hard work you've put into this league

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
Well, you can do all that here.
My plans were as follows:
Reset the league. I know this would be controversial, but a lot of mistakes were made in foreigns and this would undo all of the problems if the foreigns system was changed and also would give managers a blank canvas to work with.
Replace some of the managers, a fair few haven't bothered as much as I would have liked and not handing in tactics just isn't good enough if the league wants to survive.
Use the league table to relegate the bottom three sides, replacing them with Wigan, QPR and Sunderland. The top four get into the Champions League, 5th-7th and the FA Cup winners into the Europa league. The bottom 8 teams are then put into the FA Cup which runs at the same time as these games so there's no fixture overload.
The Champions League and Europa League would have included Bayern. Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc. using their real life squads and the best players sold in foreign offers.
Reshuffle to the gameweek, to allow all managers the chance to predict, possibly move games to a Monday night with results on Wednesday night.
They were my basic ideas, feel free to use that as a starting point.

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
I'd probably give GSC until Sunday to put something up, if not then Stoke win the FA Cup. But we could do with whoever is in charge to make some kind of announcement putting everything straight here.
Could an admin please remove captin's last post as it's really slowing down the page for me!

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
I know Trebs, I wasn't having a dig at you or anything, but there wasn't just you running the league there was Olly and GSC played his part too, neither of which have appeared for a few days now...
We'll see if we can sort out the FA.Cup situation first, then try and sort out what happens with season 2 in a week or two. I don't mind helping out, but I simply don't have enough time to run the league myself

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
Looks like I'll get the ball rolling to see if there's enough interest starting up a second season.
I enjoy the league and the banter we have, so I'll offer to help run the league if I can get 2/3 more people to help with the workload. With the schedule I've got up until Christmas, my times limited but I'm more than happy to keep and update the league table and do the injuries every week.
Now, if anybody else wants to help, We'll need somebody to answer foreigns which will be every night at first and provide the forign offers which happens once a week.
Then we could do with one, maybe two more helping with receiving predictions and then writing up the results once a week. It's up to the rest of you now if everybody wants this league to survive!

Re: Realistic Premier League Homepage - III
everybody think it may be worth trying to kick-start this league at the start of the new year, maybe drum-up some new interest in the league?
None of the current managers are responding to the idea on a second season, and we could do with either somebody taking most of the duties or a team of about 3/4 managers sharing everything, so at this moment, we're not going to get this league of the ground....

I'd be interested but like Enigma says, maybe it needs a break before restarting.
I think the chances of continuing with current squads are slim with so few people sticking around. This saddens me but hey, FA Cup winner
