Help - ask your questions here
If anyone has any questions regarding the forum or would like help with anything, please post here and we will do our best to answer your questions.
Re: Help - ask your questions here
Anyone else noticed the forum very slow in the last hour or so or is it just me?
Seems fine navigating around the forums but opening threads seems to take forever.
I wonder if it's weekly backups or something - I've never seen it this slow before

Re: Help - ask your questions here
haven't noticed a slow down at all - could be your server perhaps.
Re: Help - ask your questions here
Strange because all other websites are working fine and all other pages here open quickly - it's just opening a thread that takes an age!

Re: Help - ask your questions here
OK guess it must've just been me (or more precisely, Internet Explorer).
I closed down all windows and reopened them and it's now working fine. Strange that it only did it on thread pages though and not every page.
Chalk one up to Mr Gates and the boys at Redmond I guess

Re: Help - ask your questions here
SpenB - we have disabled all of the signature and avatar functions as we are aiming to keep the site as work friendly as possible.
If we have pictures and long signatures to scroll through, then people will be more visible to work colleagues.
Also have the same policy for pictures - please do not post them.
Hope you understand

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Hi Spen B,
Reason being is that signatures are disabled.
We made the decision when creating the site to try and minimise things like avatars, images and signatures, things that 606 itself didn’t allow and was a huge reason for it being so popular.
We felt that these cluttered sites and made them often unfriendly for work usage, to guests passing through they would see a site that would not be appealing and we didn’t want to discourage that.
Sorry.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Thanks,
I was just used to adding one as everywhere else its the normal thing to do.
But your point about work friendly is a very good one.
I'm on a landy site that has quite big avatar pics and even small banner video clips below and they are very difficult to hide at work (if you know what i mean) and sometimes you can only get 8-10 posts on 1 page with all the junk on it.
Cheers,

Being a French resident, and therefore interested by the Top14,would it be possible to create a forum dedicated to championships other than those already existing?
Thanx

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I have added Top 14 and Super 15 to the rugby Union section.
I havent broken it down into teams just yet as the section could look very quiet if I did. Should the demand for it grow, I will be more than happy to add the individual teams though.
Welcome to the board, by the way!

Are we allowed to post Youtube videos on the forum?
We could on 606 but I seem to recall seeing something on here saying no videos allowed on this forum,
thanks

Hi Solerina,
You can post the link, just please don't embed.
If you use the link option when posting it will make the post less cluttered.

It's a ranking system we are trying to work out. I would ignore it for the time being until we've made a decision about it!

Hi guys,
I know we have a MMA forum but is there any chance we could please have a separate forum for Martial Arts, so we can have threads for the different disciplines.
I love Martial Arts : )
Thanks

Aaaw thanks YI.
You know, when BBC 606 finally bites the dust I think this forum will come out the best of all the replacement 606s.
We may even have to have a waiting list for those who want to join us lol

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I generally believe that V2 is better than 606 itself.
A great community is growing here and it will only get better.
I see the European Taekwondo Championships are coming up, could be very interesting

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Hi Solerina, in hindsight its probably better suited as a sub forum in MMA, and it keeps all the martial arts in one place. Will correct it now for you.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
How about introducing a ppv access group for people who continually post get access to watch pay-per-views and members that want to join all they simply have to do is post on a regular basis.

Well KB,
Members who contribute regularly to the board are rewarded with access to watch pay-per-views that are posted. For example, links to watch Elimination Chamber will posted in a thread where members within the group are able to watch.

Kinda but after the ppv is on sites such as Daily Motion links by a user can be posted for the access group to see.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I dunno mate, it's pretty easy to find links and then there is the legality of it. It's probably easier to have a thread for sharing links as and when they come up!

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I know what Jack's referring to as I'm also a member of Niceboard, I'm wary of doing it here though due to the legality of it.
Re: Help - ask your questions here
Fair point Hero. It's up to you really just thought it was a nifty idea but if it has some legal mumbo jumbo then we'd be better of not having it.

They will be cause it's quick reply.
It will still tell you if someone else has posted before you thought.

It should be underneath!? That's weird.
Try logging out and in again, see if that works.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Well,
Logged out and even turned the comp off/on and now back in.
Im in this section replying to you both but...at the bottom of the topic is the quick reply box. So I need to write you both this reply but there is no preview/send button underneath.
To write this reply I have gone back to the top of the page and clicked on the red button nearly top left reply/start new topic.
So now at least i can reply but its abit of a pain not being able to use the quick version.
I have noticed that the green dots on the botton of my explorer window is only on 3 or 4 bars so it probably has not fully refeshed the screen? But it gets to 4 bars and sort of just stops there.
Perhaps its a problem at my works end - although nobody around me is complaining about the web.
Will see how it goes the rest of the day.
Cheers for trying to help.

Is the full page loading? The very bottom line of the page should contain a light blue bar with...

in it. If you don't see anything below the quick reply box, and that bottom line, then the page isn't fully loading

Not quite as catchy as Stone Cold Steve Austin
Re: Help - ask your questions here
In that case no.
The bottom of the page is about 10mm below the bottom line of the quick reply box.
Perhaps the system at my end is running slightly slow hence the green bars on bottom of screen needing to go fully across to refresh the full page.
The front page opens fully its just when I go into any of the topics.
See what happens during the day.
Cheers.
