Re: Help - ask your questions here
Please can we have a "European Cups" section in the rugby union section?
I wanted to make a thread today about Munter (Irish) vs Harlequins (England) European cup game today but had to put it in the Magners League section .
Secondly Id recommend altering the "International" section to "General Rugby Discussion" and moving all the topics in the rugby Union section into it. Then Blocking posting in the Rugby Union section.
You could also delete the "Top 14" section as it's a French league and I'm assuming the French fans would be posting on French language forums. Another option maybe to change "Top" 14 to "European Cups / Top14" to accomodate both, as French clubs play in Europe which is about the only place we'd mention them.

If you don't have a sub section for the post you want to make, why not just put it at the top-most level in the rugby forum? That's what happens in most other sports
It may well be as we approach the sharp end of the season and the European cups that a sub section is justified but until then, the top level forum is surely the best place to put it rather than shoe-horn it into an inappropriate section

Ok thanks for the reply. Obviously I put in the Magners section because Munster are a Magners team and they were in the event. Obviously as they were playing a French team and French people would be on French language forums then Id assume the posters would be Irish so would know where to find my post, in the section where Irish teams play.
Id still recommend altering the Top 14 forum to "European cups / French" though as Ive stated any discussion on the Top 14 and Pro D2 would be done by French fans who speak French. yYou only have to see how the "Top 14" forum is falling behind the other in terms of threads made, and the threads they do have are about Gavin Henson who will be leaving that league in a few weeks, meaning it will be a desolute and unused forum for the most part.

Seems like a new reply box has been implemented by the people who host the forum for us (without telling us of course). We are seeing what we can find out about it

Does anyone know why it puts </SPAN> at the end of any line pasted in from Microsoft Word, and how to stop it?

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Basically now when you copy over from MS Word, it copies over the formatiing. The <span> tag is used to group inline-elements in a document.
The <span> tag provides no visual change by itself.
The <span> tag provides a way to add a hook to a part of a text or a part of a document.
When the text is hooked in a span element you can add styles to the
content, or manipulate the content with for example JavaScript.

There are two icons that look like Clipboards. One has the Word "W" and the other the notepad icon. If you click those it will either copy as Word format or Plain text.
Re: Help - ask your questions here
HI Mods/Admin Folk .
When I am going from thread to thread on this
forum eg. Games/Quizzes to say an *andymonium* thread
WHY do I have to keep going back to the original site?
Every time I try to press the "<" button it just brings
me back to * Tennis 606v2"
It's VERY annoying - Can nothing be done to overcome this please?

Re: Help - ask your questions here
there is a "jump to" drop down menu below and right of the quick reply box.
You can also click on the words below the quick reply box and to the right of the "new topic" and "post reply" icons.
Not sure if this helps or not!

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Yummy if you scroll to the bottom of the page there should be a "Jump to:" section. That allows you to select an area of the forum to jump directly to.
Re: Help - ask your questions here
What do you expect the "<" key to do? What browser are you using?
"<" does nothing in Internet Explorer - I suspect it may be a shortcut in whatever browser you are using to go to the previous page.
Is this a change in behaviour? Did it used to do something different?
Please give examples of what it does and what you expect it to do

Re: Help - ask your questions here
It's not a key per se Davie but a great big white on blue
icon just under the "Help" sign on the left hand top page
of the screen. Usually if you click on that it takes you back
to the previous post

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Guys
Is there a way of setting up a HTML format which we could use as a match thread for the Fantasy League games?
It would helpful if it could be along the lines of the old format which was like this (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A83922429)

No we don't allow photographs so that it keeps the forum "work safe". You can post links to photos though

Hi Michael,
We don't allow images to be embedded but you can by all means post the link.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
That's not the only type of "Work Safe" we mean. The beauty of the original 606 was the simplicity of the design etc. It wasn't overly obtrusive for wandering eyes in the office.
If you open a page are their are images embedded...it makes it easier to spot that you are on a site that you are not meant to be on.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Hi Guys. Just wrote an article in the knowledge thread regarding a new type of malware for Mac which I want to warn others to be careful of. Is that the best place for it? If not I would appreciate if you could move it to where you think it would be most effective.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
It's not a virus though. It can't do anything if you don't give it admin privileges or give the user any money to "clean-up your computer". There are still very few Mac viruses and the ones that exist get sand-boxed by OSX. I still have AV software though, because you never know when viruses will take off on Macs in a serious way.

Is there any possibility of setting up a "Reviews" section where people can review electronics, games, albums etc?

Cheers Hobo. Could be beneficial to the site, a lot of companies give away free products for people who post reviews on busy websites

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Me and Pr4wn were wondering if it would be possible to have a chat box interview, there's someone on twitter who said to tweet someone else to set up interviews etc. with him. So would it possible for us to host an interview in the chat box if they agree and we work out the potential time difference issues? Pr4wn's idea.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I think it would be a good idea but I am not sure how it would work. Thereotically, anyone could jump in and mess about.
I am not sure if it can be limited to view only for the admin (of the chat box) people only.
Hopefully someone else will be able to give a better answer!

Due to total incompetence on my part I've posted a new article 'Shaun Tait No Show' on the general Cricket Topics part of this forum. It should be under the Surrey section of County Cricket. Can you please move it there for me please.
Enjoying this forum and pleased to see it gaining cricket followers.
Many thanks, Guildford.
