To quote on the mobile site you have to manually highlight the text you want to quote, past it into the text box and bracket it with [quote] [ /quote] with out the gab before the slash in the second one. Desktop site, just click quote on the post you want to quote.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Sorry to trouble you, I had an altercation with Shifty on the Rugby forum a couple of days ago, in which he said he had me on ignore, yet managed to see one of my posts about him, I left it a day and then sent him a PM yesterday which was not delivered, I presume because of him ignoring me. The PM tried to explain why we had the altercation and I believe was tidy enough. Is there any way this PM can be delivered to him, and if not, how can I gain access to said post as I cannot seem to locate it.
Thanks Wayne

Re: Help - ask your questions here
The email address I registered on here 4 years ago is now defunct, and there doesn't seem to be any way for me to update this in my profile. Can someone please help?
Btw, I originally posted this question on the "Feedback" topic thread as that seemed to me the likeliest place to ask for help. I've only dug further after two weeks and no replies, but though I'm pleased to find this site has a Help thread which of course was what I wanted in the first place, a section called 'Site rules, chat box & other announcements' is not where I would have expected to find it. I wonder if the word "Help" could be promoted to the top level.
I suppose I should really have posted that second paragraph on the Feedback board...

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Thanks, Fernando.
So I could delete my account and start again with a new username and email?
Hmm, not really what I want to do. I guess the alternative is to carry on as I am, but without any facility to use email. Seems a bit odd. What are email addresses used for on this site? Do I recall getting notifications about replies to posts, from the days when I had a functioning email address registered here? I didn't use the site much until recently, so it's hard to remember.

At the top right of the box you want to quote there should be a button that says "Quote" this should take you to a new reply box I believe then you can type your message as normal.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I actually gave you the ban.
The reason being that when I looked into your complaint (in which I also banned the other party) I checked through your recent posts and found them to be as aggressive and resorting to personal jibes as the person in which you were complaining about.
Being that in your immediate return to the site you're then questioning if the mods are stupid I'll also then let you know that you're on a final warning.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Aggressive in what way?
People voice their opinions in forums, I had used no excessive language, swear words or personal insults, discussing other nations inclusions in a sports team made up of 4 Nations is always going to get someone's back up, but that's sport, life and in rugby circles called banter.

My opinion, but I was the one being told to shut the F up!
'Go and do one' is a well known saying in my parts and means a number of things. sorry it that offended you and others, but that happens on sites that are open to the world.
Glawd is a poster who has multiple battles with fellow 606ers each day and always results to swear words like TW@T to get around the filter used by this software. yet he returns each day and allowed to continue on his personal quest unpunished.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
This is though not about Gwlad etc.
I'd acted upon your report and banned the person involved yet you also decided to retort back to them in an equally aggressive manner when you should have left it at that and let us deal with it.
Upon then returning to the site you decided the best course of action was to then refer to the mod team as 'stupid', really the best course of action?

Re: Help - ask your questions here
Well its not the first time I have been banned for reporting someone's behavior, seems like you are treated the same way just for bringing it to the attention of MODS who on some pages seem just as bad as everyone else at winding up people.
Fair enough calling MODS stupid wasn't the best course of action on my part and I'm sorry if it was taken that hard by you guys, but I was cross at being banned once again for nothing when compared to others on this site who use aggressive and offensive language daily.

Re: Help - ask your questions here
I can't speak for the other mods but when I see a report I look into not just the report posted but the interaction going on between the reporter and the accused as well as the general feeling of other posters on the board around the posts to try and better understand the context of why tensions are running high.
On Wednesday when I saw the report I also then saw your response and another person mouthing off so issued three 24 hour bans in total.

Interesting, I also recently received a ban - probably around the same time as Tighthead although I don't remember crossing paths with him in this instance. Can you confirm if this was also by you? Tensions are currently running high like you say but I was convinced that it may have been a Scottish mod who acted upon it, without banning the Scottish culprits...
You've also said that upon receiving a report you tend to look beyond the report to look for interaction, etc. I think you're moderating in the correct manner here as some folk on here tend to target people with the complaints facility, keep it up .

I think that was the case you were in the crosshairs on that day as well, cannot recall the specifics on the matter but I looked back through the thread in question and there a few people taking it beyond what I considered acceptable discussion to name calling and personal attacks.
Have no issue whatsoever on the post itself being attacked and ripped apart, that's discussion and everyone has different views & opinions, it's when it moves from the post to the poster that's being attacked where I step in.
