Scarlets V Leinster 20/10/12
First topic message reminder :
Travelling in Hope rather than Expectation. Hope Darce makes it. From what I heard initially of Rob Kearney's injury I'll be amazed if he even benches. They are all undercooked anyway.
Only positive I can see is thatwe know the Scarlets pretty well at this stage.
If they lose they are pretty much gone, if we lose we are depending on Exeter to take points off Clermont and Scarlets
Leinster Rugby wrote:The Leinster squad trained in UCD on Monday afternoon with the Leinster management reporting no fresh injury concerns ahead of Saturday's Round 2 Heineken Cup trip to face the Scarlets in Parc y Scarlets (KO: 1.35pm)...
Fergus McFadden, Richardt Strauss and Heinke van der Merwe all required stitches for head wounds following Saturday’s 9-6 victory over Exeter, but all three players are expected to take a full part in training this week.
Leo Cullen and Cian Healy both came through their respective comebacks from injury and will be available for selection again this weekend, while Gordon D’Arcy and Rob Kearney are also likely to be available for selection.
In a further fitness boost, international scrum-half Isaac Boss successfully came through the last half hour of Leinster ‘A’s opening round British & Irish Cup victory over Leeds Carnegie on Saturday night following his recent arm injury.
David Kearney and Rhys Ruddock are making progress on their injuries and they have both stepped up their rehabilitations. It is hoped that they could be in contention for the province’s B&I Cup trip to Pontypridd this weekend.
Darren Hudson damaged his shoulder in the closing moments of the Leeds game and the Academy full-back is in doubt for this weekend.

I think a great deal of credit goes to Exeter for not letting them play last week

To be fair that was the best decision you could make when you're getting this poor a level of service. He's played fairly well in the past two matches but Yet again everything I say about Knoyle's game comes true.

Definitely, but Leinster have not been playing very well all season.

Scarlets just being completely overwhelmed at the breakdown, if it doesn't change they have no chance to come back in this game.

Re: Scarlets V Leinster 20/10/12
They need to get it wide quick, away from the Leinster forwards and into the hands of the Scarlets backs.
They could use Jonathan Davies in the midfield,...and perhaps Cuthbert on the other wing.

Superb from O'Driscoll there. Leinster looking much more like themselves today, their breakdown work has been outstanding.

0 - 11 at halftime.
The Scarlet's really needed a try or couple of penalties before halftime to get them back in this game.

Re: Scarlets V Leinster 20/10/12
Leinster winning the forward battle and giving their backs a platform that the Scarlets can't provide for their backs. If Scarlets want back into the game then the breakdown in the second half is were they have to target to give their impressive backline something to work with. That might be difficult though as Leinster definitely dominating the breakdown after the first half and have done much better in the scrum and lineout.
Jonny Sexton is having a great game by the way.

Re: Scarlets V Leinster 20/10/12
North no try, should have been a penalty for Scarlets thou,
Reddan took him out off the ball, he wan't even going for the ball.
Also lets just get this clear Leinter don't have to use there arms in the tackle? shoulder allowed?

Scarlets can't afford to throw possession back to Leinster.
And it lead to a long range DG from Sexton that looks like it is over.

Scarlets attack it not good enough and Leinster discipline is excellent, the Scarlets need to get on the scoreboard.

Only seen from half time but Scarlets look very average, everyone coming onto the ball either still or flat, no real ideas of where their going, and the pack havn't tied anybody in to allow any space out in the wider channels!!
Poor from the Scarlets so far.

I tell you what that little chip infield by Liam Williams may not seem much but it's a very brave decision, skillfully executed and saved the scarlets pack 40 yards backtracking and having to escape from thei own 22.
This guy impresses me more and more I see him.

Incredibly strange try, he just ran through everyone and looked baffled to find he was over the tryline.

Re: Scarlets V Leinster 20/10/12
I had a fiver bet that BOD would be skinned for a try today, If ive said it once I've said it a thousand times in the last 12 months, get BOD isolated and take his outside shoulder!!!
If Scarlets have the bottle here they need to push on for the next 10, everything they got for 10 little mins!!!
