Marky, especially when you have a number 9 who wanted to leave the club in the summer and had fans turn on him, then all of a sudden, one result and all that is forgotten. Mercenaries!

For me clearing off the line or a last ditch slide tackle is like a goal for me. But when you camp right infront of your keeper and make no attempts to attack that is ugly and not Football. At times in a match you will have periods where you defend and defend I understand that but when you do that for 90 minutes and your aim is just to defend and your midfieldersd are all defensive minded and defenders played in midfield that is wrong. That is coward behaviour.

I don't think it's cowardly to face down one of the best teams of all time, and not be beaten over two legs. They defended with their hearts and pride - it was compelling.

Cowardly was when Bayer Leverkusen rolled over a couple of years ago and conceded 8 to Barcelona. Chelsea defended superbly and deserved to win when Barca were shown to have no Plan B.

I love it when teams just show pure grit and determination. They may be inferior players, but they fight and graft, and they play like trojans and come out with the reward. I love it. I would take that over Swansea style passing all day

clap seems like you're the only one that gets it.

Defending is great but when your aim is just to sit there because you don't have the balls to attack the other team that is straight up cowardly.

Lets add the context of being down to 10 men though, and playing against the best side in the world on their home turf. What would you have them do? Play 3-4-2 and get torn to pieces?

Chelsea could've had 10 or 15 players and they would've done the same thing.

Which they also did at home with 11

If you had your leg ripped apart in a sword fight would you drop the sword in favour of your shield and try to block your opponents blows and hope that he gets tired or would you rise like Simba from Lion King and fight like a man and kill the Bar Steward that ripped your leg.

I know what I would do and it's not cowering like a three legged dog waiting to be killed and only surving because of pure luck.

I'd argue Chelsea had a gameplan to beat a team described by many as one of the greatest club sides of all time, and they did it.

They were slightly more offensive against Bayern, but still put a LB on the wing to defend.

Irrelevant, football is a game and won't elicit the same response that you'd get when under actual attack. Italians understand it's a tactical game where you need to keep your head. We can't all be Kevin Keegan.

There are plenty of messageboards from the times of QPR fans raving about him, but I thought best to keep it factual rather than have them bigging up their boy.

I like Sterling, direct and tricky. Better than Walcott in a couple of years.

"He was absolutely phenomenal," said Pardew of his Argentine defender.

"If you want a defensive example of how to head it, kick it, cover people and have the calmness to play, then this was it. That was better then Bobby Moore. It was that good.

If Sterling was at Utd he'd move to another club in a year or so to get more money.

On that note, Pogba scored for Juve at the weekend. Big result for Juve, Napoli were looking like legit contenders; maybe they still are.

How's this for business in the Elite League?

Cardozo released for £15.5m, Huntelaar signed from releases for £17.5m. My two strikers, Huntelaar and RVP.

Great bit of business Marky Ok!

Sod - I think Napoli are still contenders, although that is a big result. Hamsik has been great this year, and with Pandev this season, they are not missing Lavezzi. I've always been a fan of Pandev since I had him in my very first pretend manager team

Because they're releasing them for full value.
Not the best idea IMO as it just becomes whose team is worth the most in the first place that'll probably win and when you have one that's worth twice as much as most others it should end up as a walk in the park for Spurs.

The league is a bit mental this year, so they may well be the best bet to keep pace for a while. Think it's Juve's all day long though. Milan are struggling something chronic (although El Sharaawy is still producing), and Inter are ok one week, terrible the next. Roma are a good side, may have a shot, and even Lazio look solid. I haven't seen the table for a while though, so I'm not sure how it's shaping up.

Juve are starting to create a small gap after the weekend and then it is close between Napoli, Lazio and Inter. Although, I would expect Napoli to be the closest challengers on what I have seen so far, you are right that Juve will probably win it still.

And Milan continue to be very poor.

Because in the Elite League, players are released at their FULL TM value.

That's pretty retarded

Actually scrap that, a lot of manager's ratings on that league are still based on how they played 3 or 4 years ago. Try and get Ronaldinho

I know what I would do and it's not cowering like a three legged dog waiting to be killed and only surving because of pure luck.
As someone who has had their leg ripped apart (not really, but hitting it with a sword does hurt), I can say for fact that the best offense is a good defense. When I fight, I put very few hits in, let my opponent tire himself out, get into a rhythm, then work out that rhythm and catch him unawares. I'm very difficult to break down with a sword, or a bardiche, in my hand.
