Hello and welcome to the Virtual Rugby Pub, a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The pub has made its way to the historical city of Rome, the owner Giiovanni, is a Canadian-Italian, and welcomes all after a great day of rugby.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no tampering with the pictures of Tawera Kerr-Barlow, Dane Coles, Aaron Jarvis, Samson Lee and Schalk Brits up on the wall. Erm, actually there is a second rule. No elephants, unless they're Effervescing - we can't be barring a Chiefs fan

I've just printed a sign to put on the front door later: 'No trick-or-treaters, please! Thank you!' I don't care if they're children, it's still coercion.

I never went trick-or-treating. My mum was quite religious and was against the whole thing. I remember being about six or seven and she told me that Hallowe'en was when all the demons came out and witches would pray for bad things to happen to Christians. I would spend Hallowe'en night shivering in terror in my bed.

We never even considered trick or treating. The whole concept of walking over a mile or so to see the neighbours, and then another mile to the next farm ...

Couldn't you have used broomsticks?

When I lived in a Street I'd buy a couple of nets of satsumas for the trick or treaters. You should have seen the look on their faces when I gave them a small healthy orange thing each...priceless!

Hi all, not feeling well after a sprint session last night. Our bodies were not made to sprint. Usain Bolt is an alien or maybe a cyborg.

I also don't really like Halloween. A nice for fireworks, slutz and throwing eggs at houses. Really just for teenagers.

Family meal tonight, day with the wife tomorrow (bowling, Skyfall, Bella Italia). Should go rugby training as I'm in with a shout of the firsts on Saturday (albeit only a slight one), but I am not sure Mrs will be too keen.

I'm with the rest of you on Halloween. Not my favorite holiday.

We aren't troubles by Trick or Treaters where we live thankfully. That also means it has been easy to have the kids accept that they don't do it.

Unfortunately P4 seems to believe her life will be ruined if she doesn't get to participate in this horrible, imported custom and so she has managed to wangle an invite to one of her friend's houses tonight who lives near other people so she can experience it for herself.

I think that if you lived in a really close knit community where everyone knew everyone else really well and everyone enjoyed all the local kids calling to show off their costumes it could be great. But that really is not what seems to happen nowadays.

On the halloween debate, I never went trick or treating as kid, but my wee ones love it, so we try to take them out to do it. We only knock on the doors where they have halloween decorations up though, working on the presumption that those people are into the spirit of it so a knock will not be inconveniencing them.

Your wee ones are certainly the age that can get away with it. I think my one is going tonight and they will only call with folks that her friend knows.

It's good that you're going out with your kids, Ozzy. I've seen groups of kids trick-or-treating without any adults with them.

Feicin hate halloween...its a massive thing here, will be tortured by trick or treaters later and have no chance of getting to sleep at a reasonable hour with the fireworks tonight. Traffic will be a nightmare getting home after work, Local Leisure centre is shut so can't train, can't run my usual run in peace either because it will be rammed with people...... will be a prisoner in my own home tonight....

Not according to tonight's Evening Standard. The expected yellow card for a dangerous tackle will put Ashton on 3Ys for the season. 3Ys usually equals a mandatory one match ban. Given that all three cards will be for the same offence, and a ban is inevitable apparently.

Evening Pubbly Persons

It's been a weird day in work. They announced today that they are closing one of our sister sites (based in Leeds). It made me feel sad cause I know exactly how those staff members feel (about 40 will go). They're in the boat I was in a year go. However, their work will be given to us...and there'll be loads, so some people say we should be chuffed. I think it sucks.

I'm not getting bossy. I am merely quoting the speech given by our CEO when he started the job.
