The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?
FYI, the last pub was :

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
A reminder - MARK YOUR DIARIES - updated to accommodate Scarlets vs Munster
young Hugbert and I have been mulling the coincidence of European games, and round 3 provides a good opportunity for a meet (for those interested). On Sun 11th Dec, Bath entertain Leinster with a 12.45 kick-off, and on the same day, a short train ride away, at Sandy Park, Exe will mostly be slaughtering the Dragons . As luck would have it, Scarlets will be hosting Munster the day before on Sat 10th at 15.40.
~~~~~~~Flights to Exeter international if you can; trains to Tiverton Parkway~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There's plenty room at my place in Devon, we could manage a few looseners on the Friday nite at the local (the Culm Valley Inn comes with 's full approval), a full English/Irish/Scottish/Welsh breakfast on Sat morning (including ), I'll drive up to Llanelli, match 1, , drive back to Devon, repeat Fri eve & Sat morning, jump on the train to Bath, match 2, a few celebratory scoops , back on the train to Exe, match 3, further torturing of the liver , back home to Yew Tree.
Not for the faint-hearted!
All in favour, shout
I actually paid the extra for checked baggage, so it's not a biggie either way. I will remember to pack the hayfever pills though
Asbo,
I might think about making it down for at least the Exeter game if timings work and trains aren't too dear.
I'm thinking I'll probably start that weekend at Parc y Scarlets, rather than going down to Devon on the Friday only to go back past Newport on the Saturday.
If things work out and
a)Swanny &Sharpey decide that a Thursday evening SUA vs Sharks match is not possible
b) is tempted by the SWBritish adventure rather than the SWFrench version
then
c) I can also get to see Agen vs Sharks as well as the other 3 games.
I don't think I'd go down to Devon on the Friday, but the rest of it sounds brilliant to me
Right. Round three part I and round three part II. Anybody interested in PYS, send your written application (PM will do) to me please, so I can get my head around logistics. Ta.
Until Friday, just decided earlier. My parents have been away on Holiday and they are stopping off in Dublin on the way back. My sister is away in Asia for the whole summer because of her husbands job so they are going to stay in her house for a few days (in Rathgar dawhilng). So they get in past midnight tonight; I'm going to get the bus late this evening from Belfast (they run on the hour all night).
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
ish. Need to work out logistics of Staggy & Munsty staying Friday, down to PYS. Then the decision is either -
A) Drive down to Exeter for the Saturday night
B) Stay at Glas' on Saturday night and then down on Sunday
Will work it out
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
You spending a lot of time in Bizarro world then Munsty?
Also,that Dublin super cup thing is on this weekend. An airtricty league XI will play(the league of Ireland)
The Aviva stadium has 4 dressing rooms. Before this week 2 dressing had shower systems installed as the other 2 dressing rooms have not been required before. This week at a cost of €50,000 dressing room number 3 had a full shower system installed for Celtic FC. Dressing room number 4 which is to be used by the Airtricity XI has not had a shower system installed and wont have one installed before the tournament kicks off on Saturday.
The squad have been told that a bus will be provided to bring them to the nearby Wanderers Rugby club where they can use the showers there.
Am I the only one who thinks this is disgraceful?
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Did Celtic pay for the upgrade? I'm guessing a big fat no.
I suppose they feel the big team will bring the fans and best to keep them sweet. The team that is there to make up the numbers, is... well you get the idea.
That's football.
So basically a smaller team have been told they'll have to wash elsewhere whilst the big team hog the showers? That's soccer for you...money talks...
The first question is about Limerick beating Kerry and how you're on crack if you think Limerick will win.
The second is how the FAI are a joke and that it makes a mockery of Irish soccer that our national stadium has 4 dressing rooms but 3 showers.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Surely it couldn't have been that much more expensive to install showers in the other one at the same time?
And what's the point of even building four dressing rooms but two of them without the facilities needed to host a top sports team anyway?
If you do know you are going to still be in work, surely you can arrange trips and then tell the new place that you already have holidays organised and they'll be able to accomadate you time off ? When I had the interview for Woolworths they asked if I had any planned holidays, I told them I had a 6 week holiday planned in New Zealand the following year and they still employed me and allowed me the time off.
I can certainly vouch for As' local. The challenge of reaching 'the top if the stick' is an excellent concept
I will almost certainly be in SW France that weekend. Just need to sort out flights and hotel.
