Re: Liverpool FC Thread: Numero Deux
It's funny with Everton because the past couple seasons we always hear about them playing some good football, and possibly have a better team than us. Then every derby Moyes employs the same tactics that haven't really worked against us since he became manager.
They change their style to much more defensive, while looking to disrupt our style of play, rather than use the style whats been working for them in previous games.
I think that's the point Gerrard was trying to make, he may have worded it wrong.

Anyone going to the game? Got a phone call from my mate on Monday offering me a ticket so I'm buzzing, first trip to Anfield since we played Barcelona in 2001!

No I'm not going tonight, going Sunday instead.
I wonder what reception Rodgers will get from the Swansea fans.

Ridiculous that Rodgers can cblame the result on a small squad, when Swansea are such a smaller team with less resources than Liverpool.
Shoumd dodnb bettter, even if it is the reserves. 3-1 away from hom agianst Aswnasea, is not a acceptrable result. I'm sorry, but it isn't.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread: Numero Deux
That's just it Crimey it wasn't a reserve team by an stretch of the imagination. Jones, Henderson, Carra, Coates, Allen. Shelvey, Downing are all first team players.
Two thing where very obvious last night Rodgers doesn't have the players to play ths style, Swansea moved the ball so much quicker while most Liverpool players took 30 seconds to make a decision, players didn't look like they wanted the ball, he needs to realise that playing Downing and Assaidi on their unnatural sides doesn't work as defenders just show them down the line and then they're nackered.

Why isn't it acceptable? You haven't been a top team for 20+ years......it seems perfectly acceptable to me that another decent midtable team can come to yours and out play you. Seriously I'm not wumming, you have to recognise that Liverpool are being beaten by a lot of bang average sides.....that in effect makes them average no matter what they've won in the past.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread: Numero Deux
The goals we conceded last night small time wouldn't have been conceded under Kenny last year I can pretty much guarantee that. For the second goal we had 9 players in their box, we actually left it 3 against 1.
Rodgers needs to realise we don't have the players to play his style and find a middle ground.

Thats what you got him in for though.....to play the Swansea way (of which, as I stated before, he was only 25% responsible for). Perhaps this is what you get when its 100% Rodgers? I've no idea to be honest.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread: Numero Deux
Rodgers is going to need time to install his ideas, but he has never revolutionised a club before, and in fact when he tried at Reading he got sacked. At Swansea he sort of polished off Martinez and Sousa's work.
Saying that I do think given time and money he will pull it off. But I have said before his style isn't fool proof. You are going to leak goals with it tbh

Quick question
Given the emergence of the younger players so far this season does anyone think that Tom Ince would have made the team had he not been sold to Blackpool ?
I only ask as he seems to of been their star player .

Shameful again by Suarez. Going down like some has just sledge hammered him yelping in pain. Disgrace.

Get lost Jack. As I said before people chose to highlight Suarez and nobody else, Demba Ba and Cisse have both reacted in the same way to little knocks but you turn a blind eye to them.

I'm not arguing he goes down easily Olly, every player does. But Jack who apparently wants to clear the game up of this sort of thing fails to see his own team doing the same thing.

I wouldn't say every player does tbh. I'm not an idiot, I know some Norwich players such as Holt and Snodgrass go down easy but not all players do.
Now that is the Suarez we need to see every week. I just wish he would let his football do the talking because he is a brilliant brilliant player. I know this being a Norwich fan, seeing him score 6 goals in 2 games against us

The intent got him in the red card, if I go in two footed and miss I will still get sent off because of the intent in my challenge. Red Card was the right decision and your skipper has let you down.

Sorry Newcastle lads but as a neutral that was a red card. Stop looking for the old "it was Suarez" excuse that was a very poor challenge by Coloccini which is uncharacteristic for him

Frustrating day again for us, good quite easily have won that game but didn't create enough chances first half however the second half was fantastic. If we play that like every week we'll start getting the wins.

Re: Liverpool FC Thread: Numero Deux
It was a red card. Thought Newcastle were comfortable in the first half and took the lead. Second half we lost Perch, Demba and Cabaye and without Tiote we were obviously going to get outplayed.
Newcastle been playing appaling this season and to go to Liverpool and gain a draw was a good result. Liverpool look woeful and without Suarez you look embarrasing and inept of any ideas.
Suarez is a disgrace though. It's ridiculous watching a game and seeing him diving and cheating his way through every game, it's embarrasing. He's a wonderful talent but his antics are shocking and I was glad that Colo tried to destroy him. The amount of times he's pushed over and pretends his leg is broken, for his to just jump to his feet within 5 seconds is appaling.
He is a cancer in the game, no question.

You where happy that a player nearly suffered a potential leg breaking challenge?
The way Suarez goes down is no different from any other player in the world football today, not sure how he is the main culprit in all of this.

I'm sorry Hampo Suarez does make a lot more of it than other players do. I will stick up for him in that he isn't the only one who dives, but he does make it a lot more dramatic than most do

I never said i wanted to someone get a broken leg, i just said that i was glad colo just gave him a bit of a hit. why would i want to see a broken leg? his constant cheating though and diving is disgraceful. If the ball doesnt go his way he's on the floor. Colo did him but it was hardly a leg breaking challenge, barely brushed him if you look at the angle from behind.
Liverpool as a team have big issues though, thought you were appaling

He is very lucky it wasn't a leg breaking challenge, a few inches to the left and that's his season over not sure how people can't see this.
He is no worse than players like Busquets, Ronaldo, Drogba, Nani, Young, yet people chose to single out Suarez and ignore others. Even Ba and Cisse where at it yesterday.
Not sure how we where appalling either, from memory you had one clear cut chance and the goal. Besides that you didn't create an awful lot, where as we controlled possession and created alot more chances either down the wings through Suso and Sterling or through Suarez.

I think that sums up football fans perfectly. A potentially leg-breaking challenge is excused and falling on the floor is a 'cancer'. Idiotic.

I'm not saying he is the only one Hampo, but I would say him and Busquets are the worst.
I think you played well, but you have to start picking up results as well as playing well. I mean we are only one point behind you
BTW Suarez is playing some beautiful football at the moment. That goal was a thing of beauty. He is finally starting to live up to his goalscoring record in Holland
