I personally do not think he is any better than the CB's you have already got in Greer and El-Abd.

He did go to the 2010 World Cup. But so did Emile Heskey. He really isn't that good anymore, could do a decent job for a couple of games, but has had fitness issues

TRANSFER DEADLINE DAY ROUND UP!

Matt Upson has arrived from Stoke. Experience center back and clearly had talent, whether he still has it will be interesting to see. Our back 4 is statistically the best in the league, but i feel Upson should replace Greer personally.

Romain Vincelot has left the club. I always rated him but like Sparrow he didn't get signed on this season. Could still do a job at Championship level me thinks, but i think Gillingham and Dagenham want him.

Stephen Dobbie is still set to leave i understand.

Dobbie went on loan to Palace last night, just wasn't confirmed until really late. You reckon Vincelot could do a job for Crawley? What position does he play?

Dobbie has indeed joined the scum. Could be a good move for him, Holloway clearly seems to get the best out of him and if he is playing alongside the likes of Murray and Zaha he should do well. He wasn't even getting on the bench for us, so i understand that the lads needs to play football and if palace are offering it to him, then all the best to him. Least he wont be able to tear us apart in our game in March!

Vincelot is class IMO. I couldn't understand how he didn't play more last season. His best position IMO is full back, but he can also play center back and he is favorite position is center mid. Could do a job in the Championship, and would be a superb signing for Crawley if they could get him.

Well 3-1 defeat.

Positives
Barnes wont be available for 3 games
Orlandi scored
8th in the league
5 points of play offs.

Still sounds like a shocking performance and barnes was a complete idiot.

Hey there, Blackburn Fan in peace here.

I Will be turning about to the game next week, and very much looking forward to seeing the new stadium, but I was just wondering I will be coming down from London and not sure what would be the best route by trains/buses to get to the stadium. If anyone had any advice I very much appreciate it.

Train from London Victoria or London Bridge to either Brighton or Lewes, change at either of those for Falmer which is right next to the ground. Be warned there will be large queues for the train back home.

Hello mate.

As Marky said, train from London to either brighton or Lewes then a short 5-10 minn train journey to Falmer. Ground is at Falmer station.

Have a good day mate, expect for the 90 minutes Wink

Cheers for the advice, very much looking forward to the game should be great! Hopefully I will finally see a live Rovers win, though truth be told I tend to curse my team when I attend games rather than help them.

Last 5 games were:

Charlton=Draw
Palace=Lost
QPR=Lost
Fulham=Lost
Fulham= Lost

So Brighton will be looking good Wink

It wasn't a classic but the solid performance was enough for the 3 points.

Hull created a lot of chances and played some decent football and tbf over the full 90 they were probably the better side. Fantastic performances by Bruno and Adam El-Abd, with some superb saves by the big pole in the goal.

Vicente again proving what he is and how vital he is to the club, coming of the bench and tearing Hull apart and scoring a good free kick.

Big game at home to Blackburn on tuesday night, will be a very tough game.

naaa were not getting to the play offs mate! Not good enough. But a top half finish would be good again, then build again for an even better finish next season.

Tonight again summed up our season, dominating the full 90 and coming away without 3 points.

Before i go on, i hope the people of Blackburn Rovers football club have a long hard look at themselves. Colin Kazim Richards should get a severe ban and fine for the homophobic gesture he allegedly made to the West stand when walking of the pitch. Homophobic and racism is exactly the same thing. Should be dealt with in the same way. Also away from this matter. Danny Murphy should of 100% been sent off for a 2 footed lunge on Liam Bridcutt. Also there keeper should of been sent off for smacking vicente after the penalty when vicente was trying to get the ball.

Back to the game itself. A classic Brighton game where he keep the ball superbly well, but just don't look like sticking the bluddy thing in the back of the net. Vicente was superb tonight, don't think he got tackled once and gave the ball away once. He is a class above anyone in this league, when fully fit, we are so lucky to have him. Bruno and Will Buckley both had poor games by there standards. 4 points of the play offs isn't a disaster but there is a lot of work to be done. Cardiff away next, ill take a 1-0 defeat

Went to the game, loved the banter between us Rovers fans and Brighton great songs, sang tonight. I heard about the Kazim incident and tbh when I saw them came out i didn't see anything that Kaz as wrong. Just saw him laughing and gesturing his arms about.

The game itself, I have to say we earned the point, say what you want about Brighton domination, we defended very well, and keeper was amazing, and we countered alright. If the result was based on pretty football and possession Brighton would of won, but Appleton came with a game plan knew how Brighton would set up, and look to frustrate. In short it worked.

Things looking up under Appleton OK

Seemed to have a settled squad who wants to play for him, as well as a decent backroom set up that he has brought in, which is something Berg didn't do.

Was there myself last night, referee had a stinker in the first half. Brighton deserved the 3 points but Blackburns keeper had a very good game. First time I have been to the Amex and have to say its a nice little stadium, they deserve that much at least for putting up with the Withdean for so long.

Bridcutt and Vicente were very good but Bruno gave the ball away so many times I lost count. Terrible defending for the Blackburn goal. Good game to watch though and will definitely go again if I get the chance.

Fantastic win for the Albion today. Up against a good side in Burnley, who are very much in the play off chasing pack and being lead by a good manager in Sean Dyche.

The 1st half, we battered Burnley, they couldn't cope with Vicente one bit and Dean Marney was taking drastic matters, how he stayed on the field is beyond me. Kieran Tripper was terrible today, he couldn't handle Wayne Bridge and Andrea Orlandi one bit and his performance was nothing short of embarrassing. Wayne Bridge put in countless of superb crosses and one which found the head of Orlandi who set up Spanish Dave and his finish was class. Could of been about 3 or 4 up at half time, but it wasn't to be and Ulloa maybe a contender for miss of the season.

2nd half Burnley brought the game to us, using there route one style of play. But a very solid performance by the back 4 again proving why they are what they are. With the big pole again pulling of some fantastic saves.

Word on the officials, they were all terrible in making laughable decisions at times, very shocked how they are officiating at Championship standard.

Vicente given MOTM, but personally i would of given it to Wayne Bridge, his attacking and defensive display was truly class.

Cracking win, 6th in the place atm, hopefully Millwall can do the job against boro!
