Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
The guy spent his last fight being humiliated a la Hearns-Duran.......The guy looked shot when he quit and now has been out of the ring acquiring ring rust and becoming even more spent!!..
The guy is yesterday's news and is facing some faceless never-do well.....
Primetime want us to pay for it????.............................
Surely no one on here will be paying for tomorrow's train wreck....

I will be, however there will be ten of us so it's not even the price of a pint. Looking forward to Munroe vs Quigg more.

Probably not as I have never had any look with primetime. But wish him well in the fight and hope to be pleasently surprised.

I know it's Primetime but I am sure there will be a few more subscribing than that....
I won't be watching, although it is nothing to do with price. Its a shockingly bad channel and a dreadful indictment of the sport that a fight of this standard, irrespective of past glories, even reaches PPV audiences. Plus the fact I am a Northerner means I am inherently tight and won't throw good money after bad if I have any choice in it. I don't blame Ricky, he has to do what is best for him/his stable and his options were clearly limited, but I won't be having any part of it.
Like you, I would love to watch Munroe v Quigg but so be it.

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
Nope I won't be purchasing the fight either....though that has more to do with the fact I will be there than anything else.
Agreed though, given the poor reviews I have read of Primetime it would be daft to go out and spend £15 quid for something which may cut off at any moment and would look out of place on a TV from 10 years never mind today.
If like Hampo everyone is chipping in I can't see why people wouldn't buy it though....fantastic atmosphere and build up even just sat in a room watching it....added a pretty decent undercard line up and you can't really argue.
I am buzzing for his return if only to feel what I felt when he boxed once more. I remember everytime I watched him I would be right on the edge of my seat and even stood up at times and my heart would literally be pounding out of my chest with excitement...something which I just don't get when watching any other boxer at the moment.

The primetime rep who comes on here would do well to address your concerns....

Im sure Sean meant that he would be watching it at someone elses that has paid for it through proper legal means
I wont be watching as I don't want to see any further decline of a favourite of mine. I'd rather remember him for the worrior he was.

Tut tut Seanus. I assume you will be sending yourself a very sternly worded PM in relation to your not so subtle references to streaming fights then? Or does that not count if you have a brightly colored badge?

Ill pay, ill pay for most big fights regardless of whether I think they are good value or not.
I use other free methods as well but for a big fight i prefer the better picture quality of a bought service!
One thing i do hate though is Primetime commentary is woeful!

Definitely not. I've never watched a fight on PrimeTime and don't plan to start with this one. Didn't mind Hatton back in the day, but I'm not particularly interested in his comeback - certainly not enough to bother with PrimeTime.

You've probably cottaged by a small yellow river.
I've posted a link to Rowley's thread, you can have a read and make your own mind up. Same goes for all of you.

No offence Union, but it seems to me that the mod team (sometimes) address the board members like a bunch of children. You must see that some of the things you guys write sometimes are very condescending considering the majority of the forum isn't guilty of whatever crime you might be highlighting? Maybe if you addressed the forum as a whole like adults and if there's any individual you want to talk down to and threaten with expulsion then PM them?

Here Here.
Completely agree. Seems to be a rotten attitude. Mostly on Unions part over the last while back.

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
No offence taken, it is sometimes difficult to gauge the tone of words simply posted on a forum. I haven't deliberately 'talked down to' or 'threatened' anyone, if it has come across that way I apologise. I am after all just another poster, I'm no better than anyone else and I know that. Fact is though that if the streaming of fights is discussed it leads to links being posted which will lead to the site being closed down. None of us want that, and the way we have decided to approach it is to stop it at source, as per Rowley's thread. If you don't like it, well, sorry, but tough.

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
i think UC is just keeping it from descending into something where other moderators would get involved. He's mellowed a lot since his dictatorial ways whilst running the UCPL where he would have it in for certain posters and prevent them from fairly winning the league.

I agree, I've been a member here since day one and don't want the place shut down either. The people that created it & those that give their own time to help run it have my respect. I'm not necessarily referring to just this thread, just something I've picked up on in general. I rarely object to anything on here, but when someone takes a stern "I'm a mod I have power over your membership and that goes for all of you" stance on a thread I'm posting quite innocently on then I have to take it that it's being addressed at me. None of us would stand for being spoken to like a little boy in life, and although a forum isn't quite the same the principle remains. It's not a personal criticism of you at all, I have no problem with you or anyone else, just seemed like an appropriate time to raise the issue for the sake of harmony if nothing else.

What the Dickens is this. A revolt!
Re the streaming thing. Nobody cares if you stream fights. They care that you advertise doing it on here, and as I pointed out on the thread that was psoted, anyone who actually follows the sport should know exactly where to get a stream and not need to come on here.
I'm just following house rules. Like a good Mod.
That's me and the forum
Also, I think I am fair and whenever I talk down to anyone it's cos I am me and not a mod, also it is mostly in jest.

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
i have to say (sorry to stray from topic) im fully aboard the hatton hype train, if nothing else i never went to a live fight of his and would love to experience the atmosphere- mates say its electric, and there not even boxing fans per sa.
losing to manny and floyd when he did means nothing, anybody would have faired the same, sure his confidence was smashed but time heals and maybe he can over come it, he is only 33, maybe he hasnt lived the best life since retiring but he never did.
also he is exciting to watch, and i dont think his style will change at all

I can't deny I like what Hatton brings to the table in terms of fan excitement. When he fights boxing goes from being a c category sport (in terms of limelight) to front and back page stuff

UC is a good oke, just don't give him a quiz. Whether we agree with small rivers or not, it doesn't enhance the forum discussing them. Like Big Rowls said, even the dumbarton fans could find one if they wanted to. Peace out.

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
To be honest I buy most fights, I usually give in after setting my stall out saying I'm def not. Ive bought most fights on Primetime however the service I received buying Chavez v Martinez was abysmal along with the coverage, I won't be using the service again even if it had Pacman v Mayweather.
15 quid is totally unjust for really a domestic studded bill,
Will I be interested in seeing Hatton return? Of course I will I'm sure most will look immediately to see how it got one, but I cant buy it, Primetime ruined it for me.
Cheers Rodders

Re: Paying for Hatton - Who will admit their guilt???
I appreciate Hatton isn't going to fight for free but there comes a point where people must say enough is enough. Although Quigg/Monroe is a decent enough fight (I though Quigg got to grips with Rendall after a shaky couple of rounds and I pick Scott to beat him this time round. However...) it's an undercard fight and doesn't make the bill PPV worthy.
I pay enough without having to shell out money for non-events like this and whilst I wish Ricky well, he isn't going to win or lose based on whether or not I pay to watch the fight.
