As I say that I see an Englishmen join the maul in front of the ball with noone in front so I will shut up now!!!

Right don't take this the wrong way, but many people slated welsh players after the summer for their performances in Aus and said they shouldn't tour with the lions because of it, IMHO England have had exactly the same issues as Wales had in the summer, except the Welsh scrum did better and wales broke the line.
So where do we go from here in terms of the lions?

England have had territory and possession for most of this 10 minutes but have been unable to break the Wallabies. Exciting finish but England haven't looked like breaking Australia despite the possession. You have to give plaudits to the Wallaby defence.

Have to agree with this.
English quick enough to take the Mick this morning.
Obviously England fans throught it would be a walkover because of the France result.

Pick whoever's on form after the 6N. Simple.
At the moment all 4 home nations sides are struggling to break the line against TRC defences, so all 4 need to work on quick ball, and option-taking.

Commiserations me English mates.
Great win for us. It was all or nothing and they gave their all.
I was actually a little surprised at the ferocity of their commitment. Some huge efforts there.
England are not too bad a team at all either. Very dangerous with the ball but were unlucky at critical moments.
It was a very competitive game, Oz just had that little bit extra. Life goes on. Good luck next weekend.

Deserved win for the Aussies, they had us beat in the forwards and better tactics from the backs. Not miles away from England, but decision making was poor at times, breakdown remains an issue and although some of the forward subs were quality and need to start next week, a few of the subs in the backs weren't great and it's questionable why they were made.

If you don't like gloating Morgan then I suggest you don't do the same. It's been a good close game and Australia deserve the victory. Let's leave it at that.
Australia looked awful last week but they picked themselves up. I think they are the best team in world rugby in overcoming disappointments.

Scotland just dominated the second half against the Saffers and if they'd elected to kick for goal with each of their penalities (and kicked them, of course), they'd have won. Stupid and an utterly missed opportunity, but it all bodes well for the Lions.thebluesmancometh wrote:Right don't take this the wrong way, but many people slated welsh players after the summer for their performances in Aus and said they shouldn't tour with the lions because of it, IMHO England have had exactly the same issues as Wales had in the summer, except the Welsh scrum did better and wales broke the line.

But tonight is proof, if ever it's needed, that we aren't going to win the series by basing a team primarily round any one country.

Want to sell the ability to pass and catch a ball. Marler had a shocker, better team won for sure. Well played Australia.
England couldn't seem to string together the basics needed, when Australia hardly fumbled a pass all game.

Unlucky England, for me just made the wrong decisions at the wrong time, and the Aus were far hungrier (Ive said that about a lot of teams recently, not used to seeing it at int level)
Aus played near the perfrct game whereas England weren't at their best by a long shot, but don't feel too disheartened...
YOU COULD BE WELSH

Well I must say I'm a much happier person now. As you know my team are gash but I knew an England loss would turn my frown.... upside down! Supporting two teams always; Wales and anyone playing ENGLAND.
Now your fans need to show the Wallabies some respect, something you haven't done in a long time.

All eager to point the finger during the summer and criticise Wales. Now here we have a definite crippled Aus team, missing some world class players, their captain and playing away from home with a 2nd row they called out of retirement on the back of the longest possible season an international team could have. How could you not win?
Congrats to Aus. Backs against the wall again and they pull another one out of the hat. Their urgency and desire to win in the world of sport is unmatched.

England learnt a good lesson today. When given penalties in the opposition 22 take the 3 point kick at goal. Quick tap and go does not always work like we have seen today.
Well played Australia, and well played England for putting up a great fight.

That was a joke tbh Pete. I would have liked an England win for my friends and for the Lions cause. Nice to see I got some bites though.
The part about England rugby fans disrespecting the Wallabies for over a year is true.
