Floyd Mayweather is lining up two big fights in Las Vegas next year
Golden Boy Promotions have set aside two dates at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for Floyd Mayweather next year.
They have reserved the two biggest pay-per-view dates in the calendar - May 4th and Sept 14 - for the highest paid pugilist in the sport.
WBC light-middleweight champion Saul Alvarez has made it clear he is ready to fight Mayweather, with the second date - the weekend of Mexican Independance Day - looking more likely at this stage.
It is possible the pair could both appear on the May bill to 'build' their clash later in the year, with Alvarez thought to be considering WBA titlist Austin Trout after he beat Miguel Cotto at the weekend.
Mayweather, who defeated Cotto on his last appearance in May, could take on WBC interim champion Robert Guerrero or Manny Pacquiao if the latter beats Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday and the two sides can finally agree terms.
'Money' is the WBA's 'super' champion at light-middleweight while he also holds the WBC's 'full' welterweight strap.

Mayweather books an early May date in Vegas, who'd have thought it!?
Looks like we'll be 'treated' to another one-fight year from Floyd again, then; I don't think he's boxed fights four months apart since his days as a Lightweight, so if he bucks that trend in 2013 I'll eat Rowley's best flat cap.

Past the point in caring to be honest. Unless it's Martinez or if Pacquiao looks explosively good against Marquez... and I'm backing the latter to finally get the nod this time round.

Watching Floyd in action is always a pleasure regardless of the various fiascos that follow him about. He will never fight Martinez because of the size difference, but any one of Pacquiao, Alvarez or Guerrero would be worth looking forward to.
