Once again just one wicket goes and it slows right down, really lost the initiative a bit from where they were after seven or eight overs.

5 for 2 off 2 overs has a huge impact on the game, we need morgan to find some form here.
Looks like its going the same way as the last match...big start followed by a flump

Oh right does nothing again. Brilliant, he's really changed since the big bash they tell us. Yeah right.
And yes big start but no quality in the line up means another man sausage up and India get to celebrate and England's press will only remember this lash up and not the tests probably.
And we have a bloody odi series to watch out bits and pieces selections get battered after Christmas.

Still well within reach , but these two need to get on with it now.
Surely someone can hit Yuvraj ? He isn't that good , whatever his figures in these two games ...2/5 off two is just crazy.

yeah wright is a huge headache for england....thing is hes been the best bowler across the two matches, and really you need at least one batsman who can regulary contribute good overs. Patel is worse in both departments, so unless we an unearth someone like Yuvi England are lumbered with at least one passenger or a dangerous lack of options in the bowling

Slightly unfair on Wright , trebs ...he was pretty good in game one
I wouldn't give this one up yet either.seven overs to get 69 is not excessive in these games

Theres a lot riding on this pair though, Englands best players. Both going well ...but after that?
So impressed by Hales though, hes really taken to international cricket. Love to see him in the 50 overs side.

Not sure I'd have had Patel in before Butler today. Apart from anything else , running between wickets is so important now.

That's very unfair to Patel. Unlike Bairstow or Buttler, he managed to score a 50 in the World t20.

Patel gone...at the risk of being cruel , have to say he'd have done better getting out first ball...
Hasn't left much time for Butler to rev up.
Nice six Morgan

One score over 30 in a 15 matches is simply not good enough (2 in 66 matches all formats), especially when those runs dont come at a good rate. I also have stated that I wouldnt have Bairstow in the T20 squad either, his domestic record is as bad as his international one. Buttler Im yet to be convinced by too. That doesnt make Patel good.
But Patel is regularly failing in 3 formats, and his bowling largely ineffective with the exception of last winter.
You cant carry a player on one innings.

hes been rested. Perhaps as a "ha f you" or more likely beause they want to look at other players. They know hes an automatic first choice, Hales is still very inexperienced ( but surely now well established?) ..guys like Wright needed the games to prove if they have turned a corner ( same old from him)

yeah why not i suppose. But with mogs and kp in the same t20 team you know that them 2 can beat any side pretty much on there own..
great to see mogs captain this win and with the 6..

Re: India vs England 2nd T20 match thread
I thought India had made too much for England but a quite brilliant chase has led to a good England win. What a six by Morgan to close the match and the year for English cricket. The only thing I've learnt from this T20 series is that Patel must have incriminating evidence on the ECB to merit his continued selection.

Add Hales in as well and you have a spine of class to the batting. The problem is a lack of batsmen who can do what Singh has done across these two games (although tbf Wrights all round contribution was decent).
Buttler looks like he may have finally turned a corner and may go on to justify his selection. I still think its a shame that Prior has the red line under him, but at last England had a player who actually performed the finishers role (well he left the very finish to Morgs)
If Broad an get fit again and on form again then England will have a solid base to build a good side around. But theres still a lot of place sitters and players who have to perform over the course of a year to prove they are up to it in this side.

Re: India vs England 2nd T20 match thread
A fine end to the first part of England's tour of India. An emphatic finish from Morgan.
Poor fielding didn't help India's chances and the bowlers weren't up to the mark, the entire bowling was carried by Yuvraj Singh.
Ravichandran Ashwin used to be a fine T-20I bowler. But the last month or so has been very tough for him, the toughest face of his young international career. This is the test of his skill as well as his temprament. Someone like Anil Kumble became a great by being always willing to learn. Ashwin has a challenge at has hands, iimpressive his batting feats in tests are, that shouldn't cover for Ashwin the bowler, like it was happening with the latter day Harbhajan Singh. I hope this experience would make Ashwin a better cricketer in terms of skill and temprament.
Won't be a bad idea to give him a bit of a rest in the series against Pakistan, and during the England ODIs perhaps he should play Ranji Trophy for Tamil Nadu if the team manages to qualify for the next round.

England's selectors and mangement staff must be over the moon! Not only did we beat India in India during the test match series when noone really gave us much of a hope at the start of the tour, but now England have prevented India in this T20 series from easily winning both of these matches in what is supposed to be their strongest current format in cricket.

The best thing about Hales is that he's a very quick learner. Was horrible against spin last year. Has improved so much. So if given more time in the England set up, could turn into a really good cricketer. He has the raw materials, for sure.
