Charr calls out Haye.
Just read on ESB that Charr is desperate for another shot at Vitali after being stopped on cuts in round 4, and has challenged Haye to an elimination fight.
If the WBC sanction this do you think Haye would go for it?

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
Not so sure Paul,
Although it's a decent fight on paper (elimination shot etc) Haye will be looking at the revenue and how marketable Charr is...
The very fact that he showed up at the Presser after Chisora and Haye didn't know who he was goes to show the popularity of the fighter. Doubled with the fact that should Haye actually fight and beat Charr, there's no guarantee a shot against Vitali (as it always seems it's up to him who he fights).

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
My guess would be Haye will say Charr is not at his level, he is only interested in Vitali etc etc, unless Charr offers him a ton of money and then he will change his mind.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
In a word, no. There would have to be a serious amount of money on the table with a guarantee of 50:50 on takings when the winner fights Vitali for Haye to be interested and even them he will think twice.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
Unless the pair of them can somehow come up with some kind of scheme to make Charr some kind of C-list celebrity on these shores in the very near future, then I doubt it. Haye's basically dealing in either Klitschko fights or gimmicky British 'showdowns' which carry some kind of 'bad blood' novelty value. He's more or less said this himself.
Charr, no doubt, will be dismissed as another one of these 'bums' and 'plumbs' that the Klitschkos fight in order to save themselves from a mauling from Haye. Charr offers no mega pay da, isn't a 'name' and, on the basis of his showing against Vitali, won't be near the top of the Heavyweight pecking order for long in any case.
Haye could have moved himself in to a position to fight a Klitschko by taking a fight with someone of Charr's (or Povetkin's, or Solis', or Pulev's) standing a long time ago. I don't see any reason why he'd change tact now.
Haye to keep barking until Vitali gives in would be my guess.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
Fury is rated higher than the pair of them, and wasn't the Johnson fight a semi final eliminator?
The other semi final is Arreola (ranked #1) against Stiverne (ranked #2), so the winner of that will face Fury in the final eliminator, but by this time Vitali may have packed it in.
Not sure Haye or Charr should be allowed to jump the queue, but this is the WBC after all.
Once Vitali retires, it's going to get very messy.

Having said that, Arreola vs Stiverne is being billed as a Final Eliminator, so God knows what is going on.

A bit optimistic to think that even He could make sense of the goings on of the WBC to be honest, Union.

So what are the rest of us doing for new year... Stuck at work so the drinking should probably wait until I'm finished.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
Surely nobody expects the great David Haye saviour of heavyweight boxing to stoop so low as to fight somebody not called Kitschko unless he's paid several million?

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
i actually think it could happen, charr maybe not a name here, but in germany he is- and the fact that he was stopped on a cut as opposed to beaten outright (i think the cut was okay personally) also makes charrs claim stronger. if haye could spark out charr on the undercard of a klitchsko fight i think vitali will take the fight.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
I just don't think Haye will take it, he just wants to use his mouth to secure the fight coupled with the fact Vitali would like to ko him & he's probably financially the biggest name out there. Is there another fight that make more out there. I think vitali is prepared to take this fight its just the deal that has to be made.

does haye want to jump straight in against vitali? i think he'll take it, chisora showed he's not against actually fighting.

Re: Charr calls out Haye.
Just what is Manuel Charr?!
A pugilist with a cash crisis and a gift for self promotion, or a man on a mission intent on earning his right to fight for the richest prize in sport?
The truth is I don't the answer to that question and would like to find out, so that's why this fight appeals.
If they could get a guarantee that Vitaly would fight the winner, I think that would make this a very interesting fight indeed, if Haye is willing to drop his financial demands just a wee bit.
Charr looked anything but great against Vitaly but is a notoriously slow starter, and for me, looked like he was just starting to warm up before he sustained the cut. He certainly showed no fear in that fight and was the one coming forward.
Would he be target practice for the Hayemaker, or could this turn into one of those ugly nights for the South Londoner? Sure be great to see this one get made and David Haye back in action soon.
Failing that, how about Charr/Arreola, Charr/Fury, Charr/Price !

Charr isn't on the level of the Hayes, Vitalis and Wladmirs of this world.

If it's true that Vitali (or that Bond villain who manages the brothers) said he'd face the winner of Chisora v Haye and went back on it then I don't see Haye signing to fight the sort of name he's been trashing Vitali for facing without a watertight garauntee he'll get Vitali next.

Lets not forget Haye cancelled a fight with Vitali to fight Chisora. Haye can scream and shout as much as he wants but if he cared that much about fighting Vitali he would have.

Let's hope they do decide to fight each other for the right to fight Vitali and then as soon as the winner is decided the old man retires and the belt becomes vacant again.

if haye doesnt take the fight look for price/fury to jump on that fight, builds all the right bridges for a title fight (as far as im aware he is with the same promotional company as the kays)

Now you mention it...........
Let's turn this around just for a sec. How about Haye giving Charr a guarantee he'll fight him if Charr takes on Chisora and obviously beats him? That's another good fight right there- Charr/Chisora.
Charr needs to beat something decent.
And then a fight with Haye would make real sense if Vitaly would give said guarantee.
There are a few good fights out there in the heavyweight division. Perhaps this year, maybe some of them could get made. Eliminators. That's what they're called. And the fans love them. Maybe a few eliminators could bring back some much needed excitement into the division.

Couldn't agree more with that, instead of beating up on journeyman and then getting a title shot because you're one of the ones who has looked best beating up journeymen, fight one of the other rising names, would make everything a whole lot more interesting!!!
