Can you get a great body just with isolation exercises ??
Knew a guy who competed in an over 50 tournament last year (he was 2nd and qualified for the British) he swore blind he only did 6 sets of crossovers for his pretty good quality chest......he had no reason to lie.......In fairness he did leg press but stuck to seated rows and pulldowns for back...and they were all the compounds he did...........he didn't curl and did isolation for arms and other parts..
Thing is it flies into the face of bodybuilding convention...
is he a freak???? or is it possible for average types to build competition standard physique with mainly isolation stuff...

Difficult to say, Truss. I forego the big compound exercises like deads, squats etc, and generally get by doing chins (front and back grip for back/biceps), bench (flat and incline dumbell), lat pulldowns, pressups and various lateral/front raises for shoulders.
Not competition standard by any means but good definition.

Thing is hard work makes the muscles grow......
So I shouldn't think a muscle goes "errm I'm doing deadlifts that means I need to grow!!"
Think If one arm curls stress you more than barbell curls then to me it should have the same effect...
not always felt like this though I admit..
