It Was So Obvious They Were Afraid
First topic message reminder :
Who in recent times has come across as the most blatantly afraid fighter, pre-fight?
I'm talking in the interviews and press conferences leading up to the bout.
Yusaf Mack was bad. He stared at the table, mumbled his opinions, and let his coach do all the talking. Also, Chad Dawson always sounds fearful, and that guy has fought at a high level for a long time now.
Thoughts?

ONETWOFOREVER wrote:Bruno was scared for both Tyson fights.
Bruno v Tyson 1 - Bruno held on for most of that fight. Yeah he landed a lucky left hook but for the most part did NOTHING in that fight but hold on for dear life.
Bruno v Tyson 2 - Remember Bruno crossing himself like he expected some devine intervation? Well all he should of expected was a pacing...which he got.
Also will never forget the fear on Spinks face when he entered the ring to meet Tyson.
All things considered Bruno didn't look too petrified for Tyson 1, in my view onetwo. Admittedly a relative concept. In between the admittedly large amounts of holding /hitting and holding he actually threw a fair bit of leather in round 1 in particular as I recall.
I don't remember haye winning any rounds against wlad, though there were plenty, in pools panel parlance, that could qualify as a no score draw.
Can't think of any Lebanese fighters. Think hamsho was Syrian, which i'll claim as a near miss.

Haye/Wlad - Haye did nowt, Wlad did slightly less nowt = Wlad wins
On a par with Calzaghe/Hopkins for fights I never want to see again

Just wish you could have sen the greatest non-fight of alltime......
Johnny Nelson v James Warring for the IBF cruiser...
Haye-Wlad was Hagler v Hearns compared to that..
