First topic message reminder :

Carry on your bickering here.

I was going to summarise the previous thread, but going through a thousand posts and ultimately it ends on goats, sheep on your 18th brithday that hangs around longer than strippers doesn't say much for the rest of the content.

Enjoy.

There's plenty of English people there. You don't have to be white to be English do you? Aled Brew's as Welsh as you could ever hope to be.

Nobody. The statistic from the census was that the majority of Londeners were not white. That doesn't equate to them not being English as he said. See?

A couple of years ago you posted evidence on 606 that you were 'thinning around the crown'. I'm assuming your baldness is coming on apace now. Shocked

Who said though? I didn't recall him pointing out colour. There can also be white non-english people... And yes like with most capitals, London has a large overseas influx. London is a good place to get a job, work experience and a very famous city. Not surprising. I prefer Bristol though Very Happy.

I live in central London and most shops I go in they struggle to understand my English accent. On the plus side it's extremely rare to see a welshman, occasionally 1 begging around paddington area for a train fare home after being fleece by a ladyboy whilst plastered on cheap cider.

Yes please explain your comment. It seems typical of you to try and twist things to suit your own thoughts. This was a news item on the TV this week OK. DO NOT try and twist my comments again.

London is indeed a good place to get jobs Morgs.

Our local job centre advertised a vacancy itself yesterday for a new interpreter.

Yep the majority of the people that own flats/houses in the city of london or the city of westminster are hyper rich people from around the world.. If you dont have a residence in london you havent made it.

The majority of those residences arent lived in all year round. Infact many will be lucky to be lived in 2 weeks of the year!

That offcourse is a very small area compared to greater london, And on the whole there are more english people here. However it is surely one of(if not the most) muticultrual city in the world..

Parts are a dump. Parts are great. Its what major cities are like..

One road could have millionaries living in it and the next road down could be full of council blocks!!

Isnt this supposed to be the England Wales bickering thread not the Welsh bickering over who can be the most politically correct?

This really needs a Grey Ghost accopunt to come in and mention Gavin Hensons colour....

There are some nice parts of Newport, Mysti. The town centre's a bit of a ghost town these days but the are a few good pubs dotted around. Caerleon's a good place for a pub crawl too.

I used to go through Belle Vue Park when I cycled to and from work, Ruby. They had a fire at Maindee Baths a few years ago and it's shut now.

Mysti, there was a major Roman settlement at Caerleon (Isca Silurum). You can still see the amphitheatre and the baths, and they've recently found what looks like a major port. Worth a look if you're into that sort of thing.

It's the largest and best-preserved amphitheatre in Britain, I think. There are barracks nearby too.

Yeah, I like Carleon (I don't really class it as Newport though!). I went to a hotel there (The Priory?) where they do fantastic food and all the meat is out on display and you can choose your cut.

They do great food at the Priory - and you're sort of right about Caerleon. It's run by the city council but it still has a village feel about it.

I think she come out with something along the lines of "You didn't look like you were a welsh speaker" or something like that, considering she was a bleeding Argie that seemed a bit rich.

Maesteg,
do NHSOB (NGOB at the time) still play at that ground in Caerleon ? It was so long ago, but nice to think it is still going. Club house was simple but comfortable and had a bar, open for first time on a Sunday.
After the match we (my future wife & I) went on to visit family friends in Merthyr, now there's posh. We had Welsh cakes & tea.

Katherine Jenkins was much better when she was Welsh and a little more solid.
Now that she has gone all american and is as thin as a rake vomit

do NHSOB (NGOB at the time) still play at that ground in Caerleon ? It was so long ago, but nice to think it is still going. Club house was simple but comfortable and had a bar, open for first time on a Sunday.
After the match we (my future wife & I) went on to visit family friends in Merthyr, now there's posh. We had Welsh cakes & tea.

Yes. If it's the one on the route towards Usk? A train drives past the pitch every now and again. Like I said, that club probably has the most 'traditional' feel about it.

I've cleaned the thread up a bit, please behave yourselves, otherwise we will lock this bickering thread permanently.
