2013 version 2.0 Wales vs England bickering thread.
First topic message reminder :
Carry on your bickering here.
I was going to summarise the previous thread, but going through a thousand posts and ultimately it ends on goats, sheep on your 18th brithday that hangs around longer than strippers doesn't say much for the rest of the content.
Enjoy.

This is the bickering thread, Tiger, otherwise I wouldn't hark back to the World Cup.

This is a bickering article, not a 'state the bleeding obvious' article.

Yep, walk around Newport and you'll be falling over them. Because they're passed out drunk on the pavement.

It was made a city about ten years ago. The Queen came and everything. She was lucky to get out alive.

You are not selling Newport to me at the moment and I am due to come there in April for a squash fixture. I always enjoy visiting somewhere new and I am sure that Newport will be a pleasant surprise.

I lived in Cardiff for ten years and during my time there I visited Newport once. That was enough. It was a Sunday. It was shut.

Well if they were selling it to you, I think the going price for the city, and all that it contains would probably set you back all of a fiver.

I give in, this thread should be renamed the "love-in" thread - an outbreak of peace
It won't last, as the match approached I suspect both sides will wheel in their big guns, but has the best bench?

We played on tour on a Sunday vs Newport Grammar OBs at their ground in Caerleon. They were quite excited as this was the first time the club had turned out on the Sabbath. The hosts won , we had a naughty beer in their club on a Sunday, swapped BS and club ties and headed off. In my case to see friends in Merthyr. Oh it was a long time ago now. Hope Newport Grammar OBs are still doing ok. Anybody know ?

I've heard of Newport High School Old Boys, a boy in my year at school played for them; but I wouldn't know how they're doing.

Yes, it's Newport High School Old Boys now and has been for years (since I was in juniors like 18 years ago). They are currently in the same league as Risca, which is Division 3 East and are top, but other teams have a few games in hand and now one team has folded, so points earned v them don't count.
Pardon me for going off topic. England smell of wee.

Risca
We were a touring side from Kent. Had some Bokke and Kiwi players too so quite cosmopolitan.
Our SH in those days was a Newport OB, so he arranged the fixture with his old school. Not sure if we smelled of wee but if so, the Newport hosts were too polite to mention it. But they did let us shower afterwards before we all joined up again in their bar for a sneaky Sunday pint.

NHSOB must be the oldest club in Newport, and has always been a good area for producing rugby players (as it's the posh part). The pitch and facilities are horrendous so I guess it's still the traditional rugby club of Newport.
