While that's true, filling the void at QB is the most important

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I think the Raiders would probably rather wait a year than take one this year for a couple reasons.
1. They get to see what Flynn's got.
2. There isn't a Luck or RG3 in this class, or even probably a Wilson.
3. If they suck for a year, it's not really unexpected and they get to see if there franchise QB comes out next year

People say there isn't a Wilson but Wilson wouldn't be a first rounder this year either

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
We will suck this year...
But I am looking forward to it all the same. I'm really impressed with what Reggie McKenzie has done and is trying to do, even if it means we will be terrible again next year. The year after we will have bucket loads of cap space. When was the last time we could say that!?
Flynn will start. He's guaranteed £6m and he won't sit on the bench for it. If he is crap then we cut him next year when he's due only £2m or similar. Win-win.

He'll start yes, but like Vick he's best available for now. Nobody bar Geno could start day 1 in this draft

Ah I was about to pick the man himself. Damn that Matt Flynn trade. Oh well, the Eagles select:
E.J. Manuel, QB, Florida State, 6'4'', 237 lbs.
Vick isn't going to be around much longer. Manuel would probably fit Chip Kelly's team better than Foles as well.

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I was looking at Tyrann Mathieu as a possible 2nd CB for the Dolphins in the 3rd round. I don't think there is much separating many of the CBs in this draft.
On the Raiders, I have seen reports suggesting they could still take Geno Smith or even Matt Barkley in the 1st round. Whether that is a smokescreen to trade down or whether Flynn in a smokescreen for Geno Smith we'll have to see.

With the 69th pick of the draft the Miami Dolphins selected:-
Justin Pugh, OT/ OG, Syracuse, 6'4", 307lbs.
It was between Pugh and another player who could go 1st round. In the end I went for a player to fill a need and bolster the Dolphins OL. The other player I have looked at with my last two picks but he will probably better suited to other teams.

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
To be fair a lot of draft guys were saying Russell Wilson would be a first rounder if he was 3 inches taller, as he had everything else. That kind of thing hasn't been said about many QBs in this class

Alright, taking my draft trade as going through, I'm going to make my pick.
The Bengals take:
Marcus Lattimore, RB, South Carolina, 6'0'', 218lbs.
Risky pick, but could be worth it. Would give them a more solid run-game if it pays off.

With the 71st pick of the draft the Bufallo Bills select:
Justin Hunter, WR, Tennessee
Despite selecting Robert Woods in the second, Hunter is too good value to turn down and give the Bills more weapons.

With the 72nd pick of the draft the New York Jets select:
Trevardo Williams, OLB, Connecticut, 6'1", 241lbs
Needs to add some weight but fills a hole and can bring some much needed speed to the Jets linebacking corps.

Damn, knew he wouldn't drop far enough great value here, as with your Woods pick both have been called 1st rounders this year.Virgil_Caine wrote:With the 71st pick of the draft the Bufallo Bills select:

Anyone know if Forward Pass is about?? He's been on the clock for a few days now...
Might be worth someone suggesting a BAP if FP doesn't pick soon

With the 77th pick of the draft the Miami Dolphins selected:-
Ryan Swope, WR, Texas A&M, 6'0", 205lbs
I like this pick. Good potential for the future and links up with former A&M coach and QB in Miami.

I like Hunt and expect him to go much higher in actual draft. Did look at him a couple of times but felt he would be a better fit for a 3-4 team, possibly the 49ers.Forward Pass wrote:Saints will pick DE Margus Hunt SMU

The Steelers select Ryan Nassib, QB
Personally my favorite QB in the draft, Big Ben struggles to stay healthy and not having a capable backup can wreck your season, as happened last season. Very cheap depth, and potential for a return down the line in trade value

I contemplated taking him in round two with Green Bay and Atlanta. Should go higher in reality

Been a week who wants to pick for Dallas? They've taken Datone Jones (DE) and Larry Warford (G) so far.

If not, maybe just take the best available O-lineman?
It's a bit beyond my depth of knoweledge once we get past round 2, so I have no actual suggestions...

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I've had my choices for my pick lined up since the Saints were on the clock! We were going at a nice pace.
Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
Using Drafttek which I think is what we've used for BPA before I would suggest one of these:
Travis Frederick, C, Wisconsin (55)
Jonathan Jenkins, DT, Georgia (56)
Brennan Williams, RT, North Carolina (57)
Number in brackets is where drafttek have them ranked, maybe give someone until tomorrow before picking one of them? Sorry if I've ruined anybody's plan by announcing those guys.

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I would suggest Jonathan Franklin (RB, UCLA). Top player on my board. Another player near the top is Phillip Thomas (FS, Fresno State).
I have a policy of not drafting RB's until the 4th, so I would go for Thomas but Franklin is certainly BPA for me.

I'm happy to go with Drafttek's BAP, so unless anyone suggests otherswise by 8am tomorrow, I reckon the 'boys select

I didn't check every position so he may not quite be BPA but he's BPA at a position of need.TM Moot wrote:I'm happy to go with Drafttek's BAP, so unless anyone suggests otherswise by 8am tomorrow, I reckon the 'boys select

Edit: Just checked only guys left ranked higher were QBs.

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I don't feel like Center is a massive need considering the holes in other positions. They have already taken an interior lineman (stud btw). They have no starting caliber Safety's. DeMarco Murray is made of glass. Sean Lee and Bruce Carter are both coming off injuries and they need a 3rd LB anyway.
Phillip Thomas, Jonathan Franklin and Sio Moore make more sense than Frederick.
If the Cowboys don't go Safety in the first three rounds of the real thing, I will eat my face.

Re: 2013 Mock GM Draft - 3 ROUNDS COMPLETE!!
I'm honestly not fussed who they get here but I would second the fact that they need a Safety in the worst way. They need to find someone to replace Sensabaugh and the only guys on the roster have issues with inexperience and/or injury. Their secondary started out well last year but tailed off alarmingly. They need help here.
