OptaJoe @OptaJoe
3 - Wes Hoolahan has scored in all three of Norwich City’s Premier League games against Wigan Athletic. Obligatory.
Get a quid on dat. Scored last game, he generally scores in patches.

The pros wouldn't get up to half their antics in the amateur game as they'd soon get a punch or a hefty challenge.
Unfortunately a consequence of protecting players from harm is the protection of the muppets in the game who would get sorted out in 5 minutes if the ref turned their back.

Yeah, allowing the opposition to shank Suarez everytime he acted out is the way to go.

Hardly United's best display with one eye on the Chelsea game, but they did enough. It's not just one hand on the trophy, it's both hands.

10 more points required but I'd love 100 overall.

Pretty routine win, Sunderland nervously looking over their shoulders, could be a point off safety by 5

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
which two team will turn up at the liberty today?
i know finishing fourth is our responsibility, but swnaseas lack of effort against arsenal the other week was terrible. so im hoping theyll do the same again today

I fancy spurs to win today James. Swansea's season is effectively done really. Already in Europe so not that much to play for. Their edge may have gone..

get in! great start, fantastic goal too. bale chips it over the top and its a great first touch by vertonghen who is for some reason in a strikers position, and he touches it passed an edvancing vorm. 1-0 spurs

not sure how you describe this goal. roles are switched, vertonghen finds bale 20 yards out after swnasea fail to clear the ball. bales first touch see the ball bobble up and as it hits the ground he sort of flicks it with the outside of the toe and it flies in, vorm didnt move and its 2-0

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
not the michu i know, but for me hes playing the part of villain atm. he barges in parker for a yellow, then theres a confrontation with vertonghen and he nudges him in the head with his elbow. he then by the looks of it dives twice within the space of 3 or 4 seconds.
thankfully we have a spell of possession now

I'm starting to wonder whether Wigan v Villa on the last day is going to be a straight shoot out for survival.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread part 4
Newcastle looked woeful today, few players missing and the team look average. I fear that Pardew was really looking at Benfica today instead of City and that he's relying on our home form to save us from relegation. Not convinced today and now worrying again that we may be more involved than ever in this relegation fight. Poor

Massive win for the Saints, they should stay up now, and the race for 3rd has been blown wide open. Reading are probably finished now after that hammering, 7 points adrift. QPR must, absolutely must, beat Fulham on Monday.

Everton v Stoke? Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Sunderland are in big trouble. They were dreadful today and look the most likely to go down out of Villa, Wigan and themselves.

Stoke have only picked up 5 points in 2013 so far
That's the worst in the league. Can see why there fans want Mr Pulis to go. Even we've not been that bad

Eh, Newcastle can point to injuries.
Stoke and Norwich just aren't particularly good.

We aren't particularly good but we've had a lot of injuries too. Ruddy, Pilkington and Tettey all missed significant time, at one point Harry Kane was our only fit striker lol
I think so too Freek. Lambert led teams do well against Brendan's sides

Whilst I can't bear hearing the man talk I think Robbie Savage made a good point on Roberto Martinez today. He basically said that if Martinez was such a good manager he wouldn't find himself in a dog fight year after year.
A fair assessment?

But to suggest he isnt a good manager is a bit silly, he's basically taken Wigan as far as they can go and now could have a cup final on his hands (should beat millwall)

I agree. The team are massively inconsistent and don't improve year on year. Ok, he develops players into better players, but that's hardly a useful quality when they get sold on during the close season.

i did say wigan probably have the smallest budget, but after being in the prem for nearly 10 years, surely theyve saved up enough money to actually be a force in the transfer market?
