Leinster v Ulster Easter special
First topic message reminder :
It's here at last.
The winner of this one will have one hand and a few fingers on a home semi.
Leinster in decent shape. Missing Bod, Fitz, Redser, Sexto & Ferg from the top 23. Perhaps a week early for Strauss too.
Form is decent too. Can we keep it going?
Ulster have more injuries and less form. A HC quarter the following week. And lest we forget..... (Yes I'm going to use that phrase again)
LAST TIME THEY BEAT LEINSTER OUTSIDE RAVENHILL WAS IN THE SAME MILLENNIUM AS THE BATTLE OF HASTINGS.
Means feck all though. They are a quality side, and well able to give us a shock.....But will they?
LEINSTER:
15: Rob Kearney
14: Dave Kearney
13: Brendan Macken
12: Gordon D'Arcy
11: Isa Nacewa
10: Ian Madigan
9: Isaac Boss
1: Cian Healy
2: Richardt Strauss
3: Mike Ross
4: Devin Toner
5: Quinn Roux
6: Kevin McLaughlin
7: Shane Jennings
8: Jamie Heaslip CAPTAIN
REPLACEMENTS:
16: Sean Cronin
17: Jack McGrath
18: Jamie Hagan
19: Leo Cullen
20: Rhys Ruddock
21: John Cooney
22: Andrew Goodman
23: Andrew Conway
ULSTER
(15-9): J Payne, A Trimble, D Cave, S Olding, C Gilroy, P Jackson, R Pienaar;
(1-8): T Court, R Best, R Lutton, J Muller, D Tuohy, R Diack, C Henry, N Williams;

I don't think Leinster have conceded a single penalty in their own half, and just one in the Ulster half.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
I know I'm biased as I'm an Ulster fan, but the Leinster line looks consistently offside to me when we go into their 22 which has been on quite a few occasions thus far.

I'm not sure how much of that is Leinster and how much of it is Clancy, call me a cynic

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Leinster are lying all over the ball and getting away with it here is Clancy blind or something
Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special

All ulster but Leinster lead 9-5. Leinster defence is unbelievable. Game is there for winning for ulster tho. Ulster scrum doing well.

oh sure now george sees the man on the floor what more was he meant to do, i am starting to really dislike clancy
Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
That last penalty was an outrageously bad call from Clancy. Boss had got the ball out and away by the time he blew and Williams was making every effort and not interfering.
3 points for Clancy. Absolute sickener.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Ridiculously harsh penalty, not only was Williams doing his best not to interfere Boss wasnt even impeded and could have played the ball no problem.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
If the ball is there to be played, and the player is obviously not interfering with it; why blow? Just let play continue.

The thing that pisses me off is when Leinster are doing it he's not blowing for it.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Exactly. Several equivalents with the home team not blown and I would let those go- but if you're going to let them go for one team, be consistent!

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Well I would say he's just a bad ref but since he is penalising Ulster for them and not Leinster then he clearly knows the rules and is not a bad ref just giving them all to home team i'm starting to think he is bias I hope this is not the case and he's just a home team man
Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Play the ref not the rules boys... So eh... Switch into our blue tops at half time?

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Well Ross had to do plenty there to give that pen away i mean there is blatant stuff going on here from Leinster the reffing of this game is a pure joke at the minute how does that man get anywhere near international game
Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Did nobody else see that Boss dived for that last penalty? Court never touched him, Boss dived anyway then laughed about after Clancy gave the penalty.
Also, Ross was pulling Pienaar in, Conway was lying on the wrong side in the way but the penalty wasn't awarded until Ross illegally picked up the ball.

Let Jackson kick. We need him ready for Ireland. Mads needs backup.
This is a lot tighter than I expected.

Diack turned the wrong way off the back of that scrum, tried to turn around but it was too late and got held up.

First scrum of pro rugby for Kyle McCall, up against Irish first choice loosehead in his own half. No pressure.

Re: Leinster v Ulster Easter special
Ulster were going forward the scrum before, reset then Clancy gives the penalty against them for 'crumbling'. Right...

Side note: there isn't a player in Ireland I hate more than Leo Cullen (have to specify in Ireland because if it came down to it, I would save him over Delon Armitage)
