Boxnation
To be honest, im not a massive fan myself.
This is mainly due to the service you get in terms of commentary, pundits, shabby filming etc etc.
However, i ordered it last night through my Virgin for the following reason:
Rigondeux vs Donaire
Alvarez vs Trout
Cleverly vs Krasniqi
Khan vs Diaz
Wilder vs Harrison
Mayweather vs Guerrero
Martinez vs Murray
All for a tenner?!
To be honest, thats very very good considering the fights.
Supposed to be in HD this year as well so that would make it pretty good.
Just need a new set of commentators and pundits and will be fine.

To be fair considering I've been hyper critical of them it does look excellent value. I'm tempted.

Not sure shabby commentary is fair. Very rare you get a blind biased like on Sky a few weeks ago with the Boxnation commentators, Enzo Mac and Paul Smith are both decent when they are helping out as well.

Re: Boxnation
Id prefer Enzo and Paul to be doing it full time as opposed to that perm haired bloke!!
Plus its sometime Bunce and then some guy with a huge jaw (like a cliff) that seems to have no idea what planet he is on!
Never the less though, as much against as i am, my boxing brain has taken over.
No way am i missing Rigondeux vs Donaire/Mayweather/Alvarez etc etc.
In the states on PPV they pay $50 EACH FIGHT!! We are offered £10 for all of them with no contract.
Im cancelling at the end of the 30 days, but its such a bargain for the upcoming fights.
Come on Rowley.......make the call..........

Well I don't think anyone can deny that BoxNation represents good value for money, particularly if, like me, you're not obsessed with all this HD mumbo jumbo (I mean seriously, what's with this latest fad of grown men getting all giddy about being able to see falling rain ever so slightly clearer when they watch 'Eastenders' and the like?).
I can understand why the channel has its critics, and obviously a lot of the itme (though not all the time) you can get fights like the ones listed above on YouTube within two or three days, but if you just love watching as many fights as you can then BoxNation is a God-send from a personal perspective - just not for boxing on the whole.

Never, one day I will be proclaimed as the man who single handedly saved the sport of boxing through my stance. Can understand others cracking but as I have told people before it ain't easy being me.

Indeed mate. I ordered on Virgin last night. £10 per month for a minimum of 30 days. Once you have done the 30 days, you can cancel at anytime.
No lock. No contract.
Pay as you fight in me eyes!

Single-handedly?
I have the same stance, as does Truss.
I can understand you forgetting about me, but Truss is an absolute Goliath of the sport. In more ways than one.

Re: Boxnation
I think it is with Sky, although i think you have to pay a one off subscription fee of £10 when you first join.
After that, its simply £10 a month for a minimum 30 day period.
Not too bad considering the upcoming lineup.

Re: Boxnation
Did you really order it for the Cleverly vs Krasniqi fight!!??
Have you see Krasniqi's opponents??
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=334763&cat=boxer
In his 26th fight he fought the unstoppable Adrian Cerneaga who boasted a record of 1-6-1!!!
But he upped the tempo on the eve of his 30th fight with an unbelievable 4th round TKO of.....yes, you guessed it Ronny Daunke who had an even better record of 2-5-0.
Not sure what happened to Robin, he must have been seriously ducked by the Light Heavy hard men, because the 34th fight it was Tani Dima who actually proved a stern test for Robin with his record of 1-11-1 by taking him all the way to the end of the fight.
Nathan, we can't wait for this test. All the best mate

Sadly Reborn it's a mandatory. Surely the blame for putting a guy in with a record like this lies soley at the doors of the WBO?

Re: Boxnation
I said on the other thread that its great for hardcore boxing fans and the recent showing proves it
I didn't subscribe to boxnation to see the likes of Burns etc, I did it to watch the cards that before BoxNation were inaccessible to the UK usually. Obviously his British stable was a plus but fights like Mayweather-Cotto, Lopez-Salido II, Rios-Alvarado II etc is why I subscribed. It's not the big American cards (except mayweather who is a very big name) that'll attract casuals and that's where Warren gets stuck
It'll be interesting in the coming months if he picks one of TopRank or GoldenBoy to show. As everyone knows HBO and Showtime show only one promoter so you'd bet that like Martinez-Chavez (HBO) and Alvarez-Lopez (Showtime) there will be alot more clashes

Truss could be the difference maker, as I am sure he will tell us, us Brits can't win a war without the Americans backing us up.

With his staggeringly enormous bulk, both intellectually and physically, behind us, we can't fail to win. It will be like Vietnam II with the underdogs coming out victorious again.

Nah I'd rather blame Cleverly. Makes it more fun.
Plus its funny how the original fight was made last year when Robin wasn't a mandatory and was then called off due to Nathan's "illness" or more logic would point to "who cares". A bit of Franks scarey eyes and all of a sudden the fight is re-made and hey ho, Robin is a mandatory challanger.......Cleverly's first after 4 defences against probably the worst ranked fighters a Champion has faced in recent times.
But yea, I take your point as well, WBO are poo poo heads
Re: Boxnation
Note its actually £10 + £10 registration fee, then £10 a month thereafter. So really £20 quid for those fights...
I think it's still worth it. First time I've ever been tempted to sign up. To be honest, its probably wise to do so. I hate PPV but I also get suckered in at the last minute.

Not with Virgin Jammin!
Its just £10 a month added to your existing package.
No registration fee unless you order through sky or buy online.
I rang Virgin direct who added the channel on to my package.

Would like to clarify by all means available Az refers to watching them in his local pub or at friends who have subscribed and are kind enough to invite him round.

i'd say their coverage and production values have all improved too.
Their actual fight coverage is what you'd expect from a major broadcaster.

You can when he has refused to fight mandatories in the past. It feels ike him and Warren have waited for a mandatory to come along who he would have a chance against!!
