The once popular boxing quiz thread
Since it is a quiet Friday and it has been an age since we did one of these thought I would restart the once popular quiz thread. The premise is very simple: someone posts a question and the person who gets that one right posts the next question and so on and so on.
Since I started the thread I will pose the first question with apologies if it appeared on the initial thread, but as that one was huge I am certainly not planning on ploughing through it to find out.
Who was the first fighter to beat professionally a father and son from the same family, if anyone wants to show off and name the two fighters feel free.
If we can resist the temptation to leap onto google as well it would be appreciated.

Neither a mexican or Foreman, it was some years ago, but will be a guy you have all heard of (and if you haven't you should really try and read a bit more about the sport)

No but he did fight at least one of the BMR, and that is as much of a clue as you're getting

He fought one of the BMR, and he was around when Moore was active. That narrows it down a fair bit...

Not Zivic, this is possibly the only thread on the boxing board that is better for Windy’s absence. He used to spoil it by getting every questions within about three seconds of you asking it.

It was around when Windy was, we had no choice but to make it difficult, ask Windy John L Sullivan's mothers maiden name and he would get it right!

I know it.
Why I did not think of it at the time is beyond me. Slow day.
Its Arguello who beat Ray Mancini and his father.

Re: The once popular boxing quiz thread
The son was far and away the more famous, was actually a world champion in his own right at light heavy, although the answer was not predominently known as a light heavy.
