I don't know if united fans were being deliberately provocative but I'd no idea what stoke where clapping for either.

First decent bit of football from united and we get a penalty, would have been a good chance if there was no foul.
Crazy how poor we've been of late.
Difficult conditions to score, did very well.

What a stupid stupid foul to give away. Well taken by RVP none the less.

Lucky not to give a penalty away then, definite foul for me

Valencia has lost either ability or confidence to hit the bye line and cross and aside from that he offers nothing. He's pointless really.
As for the foul I've sympathy for players when they slip, I'd have given a pen and not carded him.

I did say Sunderland would have a reaction to PDC's style. O'Neill looked worn out, PDC has lit a firework underneath them

'Arry's come in, splashed the money and now QPR are taking out a bank loan for the first time under their current chairman. A worrying sign of what is to come perhaps?

Parachute payments on the way up, the Championship will get increasingly tighter year after year. I'd rather wish the FA would spend more money on grassroots, but at least it is filtering down through the pyramid.

0-0 then between Arsenal and Everton. Really needed a goal to get the game properly running, but Giroud and Pienaar squandered good chances. The impressive Ross Barkley also went close. Wenger's an idiot, he said today he rushed Wilshere back against Norwich but started him again tonight when he clearly wasn't match fit - no wonder Arsenal have so many injuries. Horribly inconsistent ref as well.

Rewarding failure so that the clubs relegated can buy their way back and the PL becomes an old boys club.

strange run of results between spurs and arsenal. both won away at west brom and swansea, both drew at home to everton.
weve also both won at sunderland, and i expect us to lose to man city and at chelsea like arsenal this year

Neither team was particularly impressive in the final third, but Everton do have to be one of the best defensively drilled teams in the league

If David Moyes wants one of the big jobs, he needs to start collecting some wins away to the bigger teams.

So tonight then:
West Ham v United (Prediction 1-3 United)
Fulham v Chelsea (Prediction 1-2 Chelsea)
Man City v Wigan (Prediction 0-0)
I think if City lose and United win, United will be 18 points clear with just 6 games to go for City. In other words, they could practically seal the title tonight. Big night for Chelsea and their top 4 aspirations, as well as Wigan and their survival hopes (a point would be great for Wigan tonight).

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
Yeah I think even if City win and United lose the title is still United's, no chance of City catching now. If they hadn't done it last year people wouldn't be saying they had a chance of catching United, and they are poorer side this year.
Chelsea really need to beat Fulham if they want to get top 4, but Fulham aren't an easy side to beat at home. West Ham are practically safe, so it's likely an easy three points for United. Wigan have the opportunity to beat City, I can't see it, but it depends on to what extent the City players have given up on the title. If they don't have that drive needed I can see Wigan snatching it.
My predictions are:
West Ham 0-1 Man United
Fulham 1-1 Chelsea
Man City 2-1 Wigan

i think wigan will play well but will go on to lose. they dont have a very favourable run in, but if anyone can survive, its them.
united will probably win 1-0
and i fancy fulham to beat chelsea by the same score

Well if you want to see how not to defend watch that united goal.
Right back runs in field leaving his man free, he's out of it, rio gets skint easily, vidic runs towards net instead of marking his man.
Bloody awful.

I wouldn't bet against a collapse duty, we relied on rvp to get us through 2/3s of the season and have just rumbled on since.
Can't remember the last time we played well.
How many of our players have actually had good seasons? How many will make team of the season?

This has been one of the worst PLs in a long while in terms of quality. None of the top 4 have had particularly good seasons. Man United have a poor defence, and an average midfield. City have no passion or fight. Chelsea have been torn apart by infighting. Arsenal have a poor defence, and not much in midfield. Bale has carried Tottenham.

According to the BBC:
"Manchester United have recovered 27 points from losing positions in the league this season."
That's why they're going to be Champions!
