Its like spitting, in the long run id probably rather a guy spat in my face but theres something more infuriating about it than a punch.

Also a dangerous tackle is rash, but you can at least see why it happened.
Theres no excuse for biting someone.

Doesn't make his life easy does he.
Sky Sports News mentioned he got 8 games for it at Ajax and that Dylan Hartley got 8 weeks last year for being cited for biting.
Anything between that would do for me. 8 games has to be the minimum. He got that for being racist to Evra and I know racism is bad but biting another human is a far worse crime.
Plus the problem with MOTD2 mentioning Defoe only getting a yellow is a flawed argument. Defoe only got off with a yellow because once he got the yellow in the game the FA's hands were tied. They can't do bugger all if the ref dishes a card out.
Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
I'm not sure consensus would agree that Suarez's bite was worse than the racism. I'd give him 5-7.

If the ref saw it and sent him off he would have got a 3 game ban.
So the FA giving a longer ban is wrong.
The FA really need to change their retrospective rules.

Because the ref acknowledged he saw it in his report the FA can't act further. FIFA rules I believe
In Bartons case, he was a straight red so they were free to tack on additional violent conduct charges.

It's amazing how stamping and dangerous tackles go unpunished but a little love bite gets such a strong reaction.

Dangerous tackles and stamps are reckless and are punished, but at the same time they at least they are attempts to get the ball that were OTT.
Kinda hard to argue Suarez meant to do anything other than bite him.

I just hope this ban is implemented before next weekend against Newcastle. Absolutely disgusting in every way, shape or form. He's an absolute animal and a disgrace to football in this country, sooner he leaves the EPL the better. Liverpool FC is being tarnished, yet because he's the best player and single handedly carrying the team he will probably once again just get a warning from the club. Embarrasing. Hope the F.A. clamp down and come down on him like a tonne of bricks with at least an 8 game ban, he isn't sorry at all. Even had to feign a knee injury after the biting incident which was laughable.
How on earth can this vermin be considered for player of the year with the constant stamping, spitting, racial remarks, diving and now biting antics throughout the season. If he wins, it would be an absolute shocker for the English game

all players do it, feign injury to make it look like there are two victims. where as standing alone looking down would have made him look a culprit.

For my unacceptable behaviour yesterday, the club has fined me today. I have asked the club to donate the money to the Hillsborough Family Support Group for the inconvenience I have created to the Liverpool fans and to Ivanovic.

He ain't sorry at all, sorry he's been caught on camera that's all. He aint writing or using twitter, it's his PR team trying to resolve the issue. Donate to charity all you want, those actions are a disgrace and won't be forgotten. Heavy ban is what is required. Fines mean nothing to player. A couple of weeks wages.....big deal.

A five game ban, big fine, tell him he's an idiot and move on. Much as I don't like the man, he's great to watch. There's not many Footballers in the world who could have scored that goal against Newcastle.

Just listening to last night's 606. One Liverpool fan suggested if there's no bite marks on Brani's arm then Suarez should get off with no punishment because Brani was simulating. He also claimed people are only up in arms because of who it is and that John Terry wouldn't get this treatment, which we all know he would.
I think the people calling for him to lose his registration is way too much but he needs a lengthy ban, possibly a big fine. I'd say that about any Chelsea player too.
It's been a terrible week for English football. Millwall fans, Newcastle fans, the Aguero stamp, Stockport fans, now Torres trying to take Carragher's head off and the Suarez bite.

A five game ban would not be enough in my opinion, more in the 8 games ban region for what was quite clearly an assault on an opposition player. He's lucky Ivanovic has declined the press charges. The fine is pointless and everyone knows it because it won't affect him, however many weeks wages it totals. If it directly benefits the charity he's sending it to, the great, but that doesnt lessen anything about how serious this situation was. Telling him that he's an idiot just is not worth the wasted breath because he's been banned by the F.A before and spoken to and he quite clearly can't understand anything that's being told to him because mentally he is unstable and he cannot control his actions on a football pitch. Liverpool won't sell him and Rodgers would be dead against it because lets face it, without Suarez, Liverpool would probably be bottom half of the table and Rodgers under immense pressure.

But that was for his first offence. You wouldn't treat a repeat offender and first timer the same would you?

I understand what you mean, but as I said earlier in this thread it's unlikely any charge would actually stand up in court. He certainly wouldn't get anything other than a caution, possibly a fine or community service. The bite clearly wasn't a very serious bite, hardly in Tyson territory. Don't be so over-reactive. It was stupid and very odd, but I don't think the police would waste their time.

The FA's across the two countries don't even have to take into account the other.
What will be interesting is that the referee did separate the two, and the FA may see that as the referee had already got involved, especially if it's in the match report. The McManaman challenge wasn't even booked, but they couldn't act in that case because an assistant had seen it I believe. If that is the case, I'd hope the club would just not use him for the rest of the season.

At least he didn't draw blood this time, eh? Also loved how he tried claiming a penalty for Ivanovic pulling him down. Class act through and through.
The rest of the season is too short. It has to stretch into next season because missing the rest of this season isn't going to impact Liverpool much is it.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
Asked if the incident would affect the player's time at the club, Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre said: "Not at all. It affects his future in the sense that we have to work with him on his discipline."
I think that's probably the best course to take, no reason to sell him, and hopefully the club will be proactive and work with him on his behaviour to try and make sure it doesn't happen again. Rather than just handing him a long ban (he should get this as well) and hoping that stops him doing it again.
I agree GSC, just pointing out that there is no reason for the English FA to take it into account. They should, but there's no obligation.

It's only a matter of time before the next incident, it's built within him, this natural aggressive and out of control character that is just waiting to flip at a moments notice. You can put him on numerous anger management courses, it won't change him as a player because if you take that side out of his game or tone the play-acting down that affects the opposition, he will probably lose a big percentage of what makes him so special as a player.

Re: 2012/13 Premier League discussion thread Part 5
Yep send him to the quaks and FA give him a ten match ban.. the ban has to go up from 7.. 7 games did nothing before.. they have use that logic over the standard prem ban logic in this case.
