It's getting cold but still the odd nice day .

I would say yes to much work isn't good you need to relax now and again

No... not much time to recover from the last one! Cricket season is in full swing here now. The England XI v WA XI match isn't far away either.... only 10 days! Should be a decent build up with the Aus A match in Hobart don't you think?

I can see an underperforming England XI in that game , which will have all the Aussie press predicting a Aus series whitewash which is just what England want imo .

How do you see the series going ?

Hard to gauge. (maybe 2-1 or 3-1 England?...what about you?)
I think we are improving but still so many question marks. Is England coming off the boil do you think or relatively stable/good morale?

The plus point for me is that England really didn't play that well in the last series yet still won 3 - 0 , i would hope Cook ,Trott, Pieterson and Prior perform better with the bat ( which they seem to do on Aussie pitches ) .
Plus i will be interested in just what type of pitches you have as we have picked a big bowling attack which should suit a firm track but then again you wont want to put out a pitch that would turn for Swann so that will be interesting to see if you have the confidence in your bowlers to put out pitches that could suit us .

Do you think this will be Flowers last series in charge ?

Yeah, Bell was your stand-out player last series. If he continues that form and is joined by Cook, KP, etc... then we're up against it again. It will be much drier I'd say (compared to 2010 when it was la nina... rain every other day but cleared up for the few days of the tests) There should be life in the pitches early... then cracking and almost a dustbowl by days 4 and 5. Not sure about Flower? Are there MCC or media voices against him or is he just thinking about moving on for his own reasons?

There has been talk of it being Flowers last series but he wont be drawn on it . No obvious person to take over imo .

Would a new man change they mind set do you think ie result over performance ?

I think it would be an unnecessary disruption... would be unsettling for the team. Or they could step up a notch... depends who they have in mind. Micky Arthur?  

Don't think so  , i always thought Strauss might go in that direction but can't see it right now ?

Hadn't thought of him. Does he get on well with everyone in the current squad?

Apart from KP  i think he does and they all seemed to respect him so could be a shout in the future as he will probably do more media/tv work first .

Do you think an Aussie would ever coach England ?

I dunno. There are a few Aussies coaching in other sports but I feel cricket/league/union coaches should be the exception for both countries don't you agree?

I just can't see how a Englishman could coach Australia to a Ashes win or visa versa ,in fact in any sport between the two countries as the rivalry must surely come in to factor .

No it wouldn't , it's like all these players who suddenly become a ' national ' by living somewhere for 3 years or so .................. i meen would you seriously want to play for some other country just because you had lived there for so long ?

I suppose it depends on the person and the country involved like some of those 'national teams' in the RLWC. It's almost a farce isn't it?

Liked the USA too. Scotland have done better than I expected.

NZ can cause you a problem were as England will fold under the pressure

I'd say so. All England players seem to do very well here.

They are also very popular which is a bit unusual coming from Oz/Kiwi fans, wouldn't you say?  

Tomkins could buck that trend , he can really be annoying .

No, I think it will be close. Probably a NZ win again... or Oz by 8-10 points.

yeah, even though they say the don't because there are no surviving players from that team in 2009.

yes , when ever you go into a game as favorites and lose and then get a chance to avenge that loss you always try that little harder .................don't you ?

Site keeps freezing when I'm typing are you having any problems with it ?

my computer was freezing about 15 mins ago... motor's too hot. It seems OK now.
I did a weird thing - my computer was so slow, so i got rid of all my anti-virus programs about 3 weeks ago.
Now (apart from the overheating) I never get dodgy emails... and it seems to perform a lot quicker. Strange. It's like cutting away the anchor from an old ship isn't it?
