Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
First topic message reminder :
Jayawardene does bugger all but scratch around for 18 balls looking horribly out of form, then comes down the track and smacks the bowler straight over his head for a six. Class!
Ball again. Jesus umpires, get on with it

England england unlucky but that SL performance was of their own doing and their general performances suggest they would go no further anyway.

England's weakest bowler, Ravinder Bopara, rattles through an over conceding just 2 runs. Damage to NZ. 10 more overs needed for a match. Rain on its way.

Might be worth England sticking on Tredwell and Root and rattling through a few.

Rain it is. Rushing through but surely we will have an interruption soon
Need nine more overs. What time can they play to ?
Still playing at the moment , and the NZ run rate is going nowhere.

Brendon McCullum can't get the ball of the wicket here. NZ finding it challenging to score at even 4 an over. Playing for NRR here?

Think that the game, set and match done, Brendon McCullum's gone, a fabulous catch from Joe Root.

8 overs to get through, Tredders and Root in tandem could rattle through them.

Terrific catch by the multi-talented Root ! And Bopara has done for McCullum
Just a matter of getting the overs in now , I reckon. Or maybe bowl then out quickly

At the halfway stage of their innings, New Zealand are 50-4. They need to score at 10 an over in the next half, they have been struggling to score at 4 as of now.

IMO NZ have missed Jesse Ryder's big hitting in this comp!

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
Plan A for NZ is just to hold England up now msp and hope rain arrives soon enough to usher them through I suspect.
After that keep wickets and have a bash in the last 4 if it gets that far

KW hasn't quite given up as yet. But he's not your modernday powerplayer to lead the way in scoring at 10 an over. Franklin has to take the lead, KW can do a good supporting hand.

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
Have to say , if rain saves NZ now there will be no justice.
Respect to them , but they squeaked home over Sri Lanka , were struggling against Australia when the game was called off , and are getting monstered here...
At least Williamson is still going for his shots. Seven more overs ...please

Thats the game Alfie. England didnt beat SL and so it is not in their hands.
And NZ are taking this by the scruff of the neck with some fours. Eng might need some good bowling back on,

No way NZ are getting near 169. So can the weather hold ?

104 from 60 for NZ.
Nine runs for that over. Pretty expensive and they should get these if they keep it up.
