First topic message reminder :

Jayawardene does bugger all but scratch around for 18 balls looking horribly out of form, then comes down the track and smacks the bowler straight over his head for a six. Class!

Ball again. Jesus umpires, get on with it

The stumped/run out is interesting. But it did come off his leg first...so it is really the same as a ball being played to the short leg fielder , who flicks down the stumps while the batsman overbalances...not uncommon.

These two with useful tail end runs.  Finn not quite doing the job here.

Another 50 runs and this might get a bit difficult.

South Africa have breezed passed 100. Who'd have thought that possible 20 minutes ago!?

You mean difficult for South Africa to prevent Jonathan Trott scoring another ODI 50?

Anderson back.  About time really...want to wrap this up now.

Should be easy enough chase even with some late runs , but England would be disappointed now if SA were to "escape" to 170...

still in driver's seat Eng.....that said they have conceded 40 runs for this wicket.
they have eased and taken pressure off...and that can be dangerous.....10 overs of Miller cuting lose could see a fighting total on the board for SA

Good fight from Miller.

Agree a 200 chase should be fine on an essentially good pitch...but after you've had a team 80/8 you don't want to see them doubling their score at the end.
Also it gives their bowlers heart to have a real go ...I have seen too much cricket to ever assume a game is over before the first innings  has even finished...

Not sure England have eased or taken pressure off , KP f...rather these two have just taken the power play and swung hard. And got away with it , so far.
Batting not too hard ...ball a bit older , pitch seems excellent. If they had made a normal start , SA would be really enjoying batting now.

20 overs at 3 an over would see the Saffers up to 184. Right now, it's looking fine for England, but they have let the Saffers off the hook a bit.

Root , not Bopara.  Reasonable...not swinging now , if he wanted Bopara he could have used him much earlier.

Big six...fifty stand clap good from Kleinveldt.

But now he bowls Bopara as well ?  Don't like this...

Thing is , there are still eighteen overs to go ...he could attack from one end , just use one part time bowler.

This way , little pressure either end: almost saying OK , bat your fifty overs...

Now South Africa might be looking at 200, they already have something to bowl at. Certain victory has been turned into a 80-85% chance of victory for England.

These two showing what a good batting wicket this is.

But Cook will be feeling a bit annoyed he hasn't been able to finish the job.  Not sure England have done much wrong really , just some brave hitting mixed with sensible defence.

Though I would have used Jimmy's last two overs by now.

Miller and Kleinveldt have now more than doubled the score for South Africa. South Africa were 80-8, now they are 165-8.

my doomsday for England prophecy half true so far....Miller going strong expectedly but letting Klenveldt get to 41* so far is unpardonable

Miller has done an excellent job. Taken the fight back to England ...even 220 now looks possible.

Shouldn't be nearly enough on this pitch , but it turns a carve up into a match.

Why so negative Cook? Our 4 frontline bowlers have 9 overs between them left and we're persisting with Bopara and Root.

We have let them off a bit, but if its this easy for their 7 and 10, our batsman should be able to score.

With the outfield being lightning fast, the pitch not doing anything special, 300 would be par on this wicket, maybe even 320.

With no Steyn/Morkel we should be chasing this down

Its all over, Tsotsobe didn't last long, Miller remaining not out with a good counterattacking 50. Their score of 175 shouldn't really trouble England. Just that they have to stay positive. For South Africa, there is at least something to bowl at. If someone could come up with an extraordinary performance with the ball, they have a chance. Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel are the 2 South African bowlers who are likely to produce such a performance, but alas, neither are playing today.
