Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
First topic message reminder :
Jayawardene does bugger all but scratch around for 18 balls looking horribly out of form, then comes down the track and smacks the bowler straight over his head for a six. Class!
Ball again. Jesus umpires, get on with it

14/2 after 4 overs, both openers gone. England in charge.

Steady on , Duty...
Long way to go yet. Only takes a couple of batsmen to get their eye in and start smashing it.
Happy with the way things are going so far , though.

Ross Taylor and McCullum could win this in a hurry

I'm just enjoying it before the inevitable disappointment!

Quite right , GSC.
England adopting usual t20 bowler rotation with Bresnan on ...and a good start from him. I'd give Jimmy one more now...

I was thinking Luke Wright could continue his versatility of being unable to bat, bowl or captain

NZ really struggling here at 17-2 in the 6th over. Not at all managing to get the scoreboard moving. Ross Taylor and Brendon McCullum have a massive job to pull this one out for their team.

Top stuff from Jimmy. You can't play that...
Would almost be tempted to bowl him right through his five overs here. He can be hittable at the death , but right now he has them under wraps. Would love to get Taylor.

NZ know England did nothing at the end of their innings, so they can afford for a slow start and play off Jimmy, as long as they keep Taylor in and McCullum ready

23/2 after 6. NZ not even going at 4 an over (yet!). England will never have a better chance to win a 50 over international tournament!

I'll certainly have one more over from Anderson. England need wickets, if they get Taylor early, they'd get closer to that win.

Unlucky, 2 on field calls so he has to walk. Big wicket that. Dangerman coming though.

YES!
Big wicket, and no more reviews for NZ, sure there would've been an inside edge for him to review so quickly

Get Tredders on, turn the screw, and up the over rate. I'm still nervous about the prospect of rain.

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
Taylor has to go. It did look high, and even the impact was marginal as well, but both were umpire's call, and Taylor has to go. Harsh, but not wrong.

There was a noise and an issue of height.
Impact and wickets both being on field calls make the review fair enough.

Well here comes McCullum...
Get him and I think England can party.
Going to be hard for NZ to pull back this start unless big Bren fires...but we know what he can do...
Bopara time.

This is how England win games. Not going big with the bat, but getting a good score and keeping it tight with the ball. Sadly they didnt bowl well vs the Sri Lankans

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
Slow. But only 16 down on England at the same stage...and later on , England got just five , for the last four wickets , in the last two overs.
Wickets still key. Broad now ...holding Tredwell back ...would like McCullum out first...

Re: Champions Trophy - England and Wales 2013
NZ are going nowhere. Think the stuffing is already knocked out of this chase. Will take something really special to get them back on track. They are not really able to keep the board moving. McCullum swinging rather wildly and connecting with air.

If you can get McCullum now you can turn the screw. Wickets will win this game for England.

NZ 39-3 after 9. Still need 131 of 15 overs, at close to 9 an over from here on.

Rain is here and making it easy for NZ.
Sky commentator is very biased to his NZ country of course and delighted.
England need to get bloody wickets or go home.
