Tipuric Poll
Tipuric Poll
I don't think Gatland should worry about dropping Warburton. Personally I think it's all Gatland mind games anyway. Warburton starts regardless. Gatland knows how good his captain is. If anything, Warburton will want to put down a marker to banish SH demons of his world cup and last summers tour to oz.
I think it would be stupid to consider Tipuric as a super sub. He's too damn good. I have a sneaky feeling Gatland may employ his tactic that worked so well against England.
If he picks Warburton at 6 and Tipuric at 7 we know the potential that has.

But neither is Australia dumb...and they'll have studied that England game over and over and over again. Fine tooth comb stuff.

Re: Tipuric Poll
If you follow that line of thinking then no partnership would ever play more than one game together... Back and Hill for example!!

Re: Tipuric Poll
Em...if that last one is directed at me.... then I say play the partnership by all means, but modern professional units learn by scientific means and if they're good enough, they can neutralise aspects they've seen work in other games.
Do it but don't think Australia will be caught with their pants down and not have expected it.

Re: Tipuric Poll
It was. The OP never said that Warburton and Tipuric being selected would catch the Aussies with their pants down. Just that they have worked well together in the past.
Although I would go with Warburton and Croft with Heaslip at no8.

The OP didn't. That's what I said. My opinion based on the premise that the partnership is a good idea. That's how debates progress

Good call - the Halfpenny brothers are a lethal combo that Gatland is foolish never to have tried with Wales.

Re: Tipuric Poll
if leigh does have a brother, despite him not being a proplayer, i would still pick him based on Leigh's ability

8 Heaslip
7 Tipuric
6 O'Brien
For me the back row picks itself.

What about Sam Warburton's twin?
He's a physio at the Gwent Dragons!

Ben Warburton is a lot smaller.
A bit like Danny Devito in Twins.
