Warburton or Tipuric?

I think its pretty clear Warburton has the jersey once he was appointed to captain. Leaving aside Warburton as captain, if the test jersey was really up for grabs in a straight fight who would you prefer to have. Also, what would your Lions backrow combo be as things stand now?

Warburton will play 7 in the first test, with O'Brien art 6 and Heaslip at 8
Tipuric will sit on the bench.

I dont think Tipuric will even make the bench because I can see Gatland subbing Warburton. I think Gatland might be revealing his hand here with this team. O'Brien on the bench could cover 6 and 7 and is a good impact player and ball carrier. I think this is Gatlands favoured back row combo now. Pressure will be on Croft and Heaslip to perform though as SOB, Lydiate and Faleteau will be breathing down their necks.

A bench can be a nice place to be in a big series of games.  Nobody knows where a game might get won if it's hard fought.  Could be the opening half with the proud as punch first teamers.  Or it could be the saviors from the bench turning a losing game around. 

Tipuric won't be too concerned when he might come on as long as Gatland respects the quality of his bench, that is, and gives them a decent period.

Nice poll Winchester but I think you should include a "BOTH" option.

I like the idea of playing them both for 3 reasons, 

1. Tipuric (in my opinion) has been the best back row player on tour and deserves to start.
2. Warburton cannot really be dropped
3. This combination worked spectacularly well against England

Having said that, I don't think I would risk it unless the combination was tried (and shown to work) against the Brumbies- which is why I really hope that Gatland does this.
