Wales U20s vs South Africa U20s
First topic message reminder :
No one watching?
Wales holding on very well for the first 15,
Scrumhalf is excellent
And it looks like Wales have butchered a try scoring chance form a clever lineout move

Off the post, and the SA player tackles in the air and Wales get a penalty to clear the pressure.

I want Danny Wilson to bring on the replacements, South Africa have a lot of fresh legs on, it isn't easy to play against players who have just come on after working extremely hard for 67 minutes.

SA have 3 subs on, Wales have 2 apparently
Wales need some territory

Wales winning the battle of the kickers with fair easy
If they want to keep kicking to our back 3, that would be great.

Dan Thomas on for Wales
He should be capable of winning us a few penalties
Arggg, a mess up at the rolling maul costs us our first chance in the opposition 22 for ages.

Re: Wales U20s vs South Africa U20s
Wales march forward at the scrum again
The SA wing covers back and just manages to keep Davies' kick in field
Jordan Williams almost through on the counter
Davies chips!
The winger catches!
ITS A TRY!!!
Conversion to come
1minutes left on the clock

Some very talented players on show there, the future is looking bright for Wales, how good was Jordan Williams, the baby boks could not touch him.

Fair play that was a good game, really suprised that we managed to sneak the win. Some of those lads should really be looking for regional starts next season with Lions players being rested.

What a fantastic game. Wales fully deserved that win. SA were incredibly classy ball in hand.
So proud of the young lads, they were so mature in their options, clinical in their scrums and the maverick talents of Jordan Williams...

Re: Wales U20s vs South Africa U20s
All 7 backs did very well
Dixon and Hughes were a rock in midfield, Davies showed up really well with his kicking game. Amos and Jordan Williams were just unstoppable. Rhodri Williams looked very sharp and saved Wales a couple of times early on. Evans made a huge hit to stop an overlaps, and show nerves of steal to catch that awkward bounce and touchdown.
Wales lacked a bit of muscle at the breakdown, the tight 5 were a bit slower than SA - but made up with some excellent scrums and the backrow played very intelligently to secure possession.

Some dodgy passing, but his kicking game was first class - totally dominated the aerial battles when they came around
Probably should have used the boot more in the second half, tried to play in our own half a bit too much.

Really becoming a good flyhalf...! Not as exciting as Matthew Morgan last year but very talented. Jordan seems to add the running we need...
Can we go all the way ?

Davies was pretty poor in the 6Ns, he has obviously done some work and the gameplan has been altered around him - he played to his strengths and it has paid off in the last two games
Anyone know who MOTM was?

I think the lads around him have adapted to his gameplan. davies plays a very conservative game and the other lads just wanted to run it like when Morgan was Flyhalf. Plus everyone wanted to see Patchell over Davies so Davies got some stick. He played well, just some things didnt come off for him.

South Africa beat England in the pool
The Baby Blacks look a shadow of their former selves, almost going down to Ireland and Australia
It's there for the taking, I have a feeling it will be England in the final - that will be a tough game, but winnable.

Sam Davies is proving some of his doubters wrong - He has a simple game plan and is a youing lad with a great temperament like his dad. He could go a long way with those attributes and I'm sure we're all plesaed for the young fella
I was one of his doubters by the way

And he doesnt look 12 years old this year, he looks about 15 now... Give him a few years to grow in to being an adult and he could be as useful a player as his father was.

I think it's irrelevant who Wales play in the final. I believe if they perform as well as they did today, train intensely, and have a lot of competition for places/selection for the final, I believe they have a chance of winning that final game.

Re: Wales U20s vs South Africa U20s
yeah sam davies was an excellent kicking game, still has some work to do defensively. but i notice that's improving slowly. thought rhodri williams was class at 9, and hopefully will push aled davies for a starting spot for the scarlets next season. the centres complimented each other well, dixon with the direct running. steffan hughes guarded the outside channels well, think he has a bright future in the game. jordan williams has been class all tournament, has the ability to create something out of nothing. also though the wingers we're solid and chased well all game.
liked the fact the pack didn't let the SA forwards bully them, and stood up well. especially impressed with the workload the locks hughes & jones got through.
Also impressed with defensive coach richard hodges who got the blitz defence right. also thought the second tackler putting his hand in to dislodge the ball worked well too.

It,s a shame Jack jones has had to go to Italy to get some game time, I was talking to his old man a few weeks ago and hopefully he can get into his region next season.
