England U20 v New Zealand U20
First topic message reminder :
Game about to start. Just showing a highlight reel from 2011. Closest we've come to them before and it was a good team. Included:
Farell, Joseph, Kvesic, Launchbury, H Thomas, M Vunipola, Wade and Yarde. All with caps. Hopefully at least 5 will be in the EPS.
Anyway on to today. Can't bothered to write up teams as I'm on the iPad

BBs are going to come out madder than a box of frogs. Little bit apprehensive. England's counter-rucking has been a real plus for me. Great to see a team at this level competing in this area for once.

All England have to do is have a rest and a drink, turn round and repeat what theyve done in the first forty and this game is all theirs.
Agree Laurie, this isnt about missed chances for us. We're being covered off easily and theres not intensity at all. When easy tries like that are let in you know you have a big problem. Too loose, no power on the go...

The handling errors are down to focus right? I'm sure they can generally catch. Change tactics a little to stop England's counter rucks. Plenty could be changed during half time. Trust me, we've lost games from better advantages than this.

I dunno Auckland - how about 'Smash it up the middle, protect the ball at the breakdown, go wide once you've made some of the hard yards'.

Aint that the truth Hammer. Auckland I'm guessing this isn't a great BB team right? Well neither is the England team, definitely time to overhaul us.

Yeah I expect some up in momentum but something drastic needs to change for us. I'm going for a couple of individuals to break it open...we're that desperate.

This ref is very poor at warning players and communicating before decisions are taken.

This is the difference with an AB side - they have the intelligence to adjust their gameplan.

I like the way the refs doing the scrum. Teams shouldn't push until they see the ball. Makes early drives really obvious and means the scrum should be more stable.

Still too loose, too upright. Terrible body positioning. They just look like tired individuals doing their own thing. Can only see this getting worse.

I really really hate this ref. Good continuity for ABs. Is this the rot setting in? I think, at this stage, England deserve the win. Plenty to play though.

England need to be careful now, that's about the first good thing New Zealand have done in 60 minutes.

good counter-rucking, after a frankly ridiculous attempt to pretend not to be tackled that should have been a penalty
