The Official "Leicester City To Look Like They Are World Beaters Only To Mess It Up And Finish In Mid Table" Thread
Everyone else seems to be doing one so I thought I would get one started up for Leicester City. Although Im fairly sure Im the only Foxes fan on this board so this could end up being a soliluquay (not sure how you spell that).
Obviously Leicester will probably have a good start, be top of the table at some point and everyone will say "this is our year", then we will mess it all up and finsh somewhere in between 7th and 12th place. But I will still enjoy it and still be a loyal Foxes fan going to most games. I particularly look forward to beating the scumbags known as Nottingham Forest and Derby County.
It looks like we will now have a director of football. Terry Robinson has joined us from Stoke. Also we have a prestiege home friendly with Monaco. Falcao is comin to the King Power Stadium.
Anyway I look forward to updating you on all the Leicester news, taking stick from the supporters of Brighton (Nick), Forest (GSC) and all the other teams, and being over the moon when we win, and suicidal when we lose.

Good luck for the season mate
Can see Pearson maybe getting the sack early on, if results are poor!

Probably. Im really stripping back my expectations this year. I am not hoping for any more than a mid table finish. Even if we win the first 10 games in a row I will still not change. That way I cant be disappointed.
Middlesbrough away first game of the season. I think I am going to get a ticket and go on the coaches.

Our best 2 players last season got into the Championship Team Of The Season: Wes Morgan and Kasper Schmiechel. Looks like we will lose both before this season starts. great times...

Good start to the campaign with a 2-1 win away at Middlesbrough. Rubbish in the first half then good in the second.

I think the reason we won was your inability to finish in that first half. You could have been 3 or 4 up at half time. But we have a really good record against you - havent lost since 2002.

Were a strong team - anyone who can replace Wood with Nugent is always gonna be in with a shout. Totally agree though as Juke and Emnes are our only 2 recognised strikers and neither of them will score 20+ goals this season!

Lots of rumours doing the rounds that Leicester are interested in signing Arsenal youngsters Nico Yennaris and Ignasi Miguel on season. There's a picture doing the rounds of Miguel attending last night's match.

Miguel's a centre half who can play left back. Pretty decent on the ball, and can read the game well, but can be bullied physically a fair bit. A spell in the Championship will either make or break him.
Yennaris can play either right back or as a defensive centre mid. Solid but unspectacular. They've both played in the Carling cup and Champions league for Arsenal, and neither disgraced themselves.

Good 2-0 win over Wigan. I couldn't listen to the game but from reading the BBC website, it sounds like we deserved it. Good to see Liam Moore get his first senior goal.

A 2-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday to keep the run going. In all competitions this season we have P12 W9 D2 L1. Cant ask for much more than that. Im not getting carried away though as the thread title suggests.
2 away games coming up this week. Yeovil on Tuesday followed by Doncaster Saturday.

Both of our losses this season have come before the international breaks. They have also come at the hands of former players turned managers: Chris Powell (Charlton) and Paul Dickov (Doncaster).

should be a good game between ipswich and leicester this weekend. The return of david nugent to portman rd is never a nice sight for town fans. His record at ipswich is very good and we are missing our best player, Aaron Cresswel due to suspension. I thïnk it will be a leicester win unfortunately but there should be some goals

Cheers for the 3 points lads
Wes Morgan is utter rubbish as is his center back partner. Makes to many fouls and gives the ball away an awful lot. Barnsey tore them apart!
Dean Hammond was crap, so happy we didn't sign him! Nugent and Vardy looked poor. Did like Llyod Dyer and Andy King though.

Wes Morgan is one of the best defenders in that league hands down. He is the only defender in recent memory who won the Championship Player Of The Month Award and was our player of the season last season. He like the whole team had an off day. I think we enjoyed the "Leicester City to look like world beaters" part and now here comes the "only to mess it up and finish mid table" part.

I said last season at the AMEX Morgan was class, i never used to rate him when he was at Forest. I understand he won best center back in the league last season and when i saw him last season it was no surprise.
But on Saturday, he lost every header to Ashley Barnes, he made a stupid ammonnt of needless fouls, including the penalty he gave away, should of had another penalty before that. Gave the ball away a lot his passing seemed to either go into the stands or go to a Brighton player. Reminded me of his days back at Forest, it didn't help though, that Barnes had the game of his life and his fellow center back was rubbish.
Good luck for the rest of the season anyway mate
Players i did rate for you lot were Anthony Knockart, Llyod Dyer and Danny Drinkwater.

Watch Leicester a bit(girlfriends family are big fans).
Was at the QPR game. Should have scored a few more.
Playing very well. The win on friday was impressive.
Hope you can keep it up for the remainder of the season.
Moore looks a good young player.
Nugent and Vardy look decent up front.
Quite like Knockheart.
Am going to the Bournemouth - Leicester game on the 1st feb.
Should be a good game.

Thanks. I really hope we can keep it up too. But as my thread title suggests, I really will not allow myself to believe. If Bournemouth away was the next game I would be 99% certain of a victory, but a lot can change in that time so I will see closer to the time.

Phillips is a fantastic signing. Age doesn't matter for him. He is still very quick and his finishing is still unreal. Leicester look well on course for promotion this season.

I think his brain is quick which can more than make up for the body, depending on the league you are in, especially with his finishing. Think Phillips could be a great short termer for Leicester, would have had no problem if 'Arry had had a sniff for us. Always unlikely given Phillips' desire to be midlands but if goals you need like we do...
Every other year I'd have agreed with the thread title, but this year I think could be their year to get back up, and thus far I'd have to say as champions too.
Now if only they could get back to playing in the crisp bowl, bl**dy Walkers!

We didnt play very well on Saturday and Leeds were the better side. But what happened? David Nugent scored in the 88th minute to secure a 1-0 win. Surely this has to be our year now, but I just cant bring myself to believe! I have been burned so many times before.

Shold be an interesting one against our lot this weekend.
Been a fair bit of banter between the Leicester and Boro forums over the last few days. Both sides in excellent form (results-wise, if not always performance-wise).
Still, you struggled away at Leeds, who are never easy to play on home turf, while we struggled to put Charlton away at the Riverside.
On the face of it, it should be a comfortable win for you, but just lately we've been picking up wins in games we wouldn't normally expect to. Historically we've drawn a fair few games in this fixture, so a lot of us are hopeful of getting at least a point.
Back on topic, I think its safe for you to change the thread title to "Leicester City - Championship Winners 2014".

Admittedly you form does have me worried. But with us being at home we should hopefully have enough. I think you will do well under Karanke (apologies that spelling is probably horrendously wrong) and be in play offs. If you dont go up this season, you will be my tips for Championship winners next season. There just seems to be something about your new manager which suggests to me he is going to do really well...

Well, you got a lucky break from a horrendous refereeing decision for the first goal, but the second was down to woeful defending on our part.
Also could have been a different game if we'd started with any decent strikers instead of Useless Jutkiewicz.
Overall, we can't have too many complaints though as Leicester were the better side over the match.
Can't shake the feeling though, that with better strikers and a ref that didn't need to go to Specsavers, we could have got a point from this.
Anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season.

History has beem made! 8 wins in a row for the first time in our 130 year existence. We also broke the record for consecutive away wins with 4. There has only been one previous occasion of any club winning 8 in a rown in the Championship. And that was Reading in the season when they won it with 106 points. Good signs indeed:
The 8 wins:
1-0 QPR away
1-0 Reading home
5-3 Bolton home
3-1 Millwall away
4-1 Derby home
1-0 Leeds away
2-0 Middlesbrough home
2-1 Birmingham away

Well, I suppose the winning run had to come to an end some time. If your going to draw a game then thats how you do it: go 2-0 down then come back and equalise in the 94th minute with an absolute screamer from Danny Drinkwater.

Re: The Official "Leicester City To Look Like They Are World Beaters Only To Mess It Up And Finish In Mid Table" Thread
I really wanted to beat Forest just to stick it to Billy Davies but I will certainly settle for a point given the circumstances. Both the former Forest players seemed intent on helping thier old club out! Wes Morgan gave away a clumsy penalty, then Paul Konchesky got himself sent off! There and then I thought we would lose heavily which would have been an awful way for the unbeaten run to come to an end. But credit to the lads for drawing a game we would have lost last season. Good to see Riyad Mahrez get his first goal and to top it off that fat c*nt got sent to the stands!!!
But it wouldnt be right if I didnt give Forest some credit - I can see why they are unbeaten for longer than us and they are still the only team to walk away from the King Power Stadium with 3 points. They have some player in Jamie Patterson even if he was the one who gave us the penalty.

Was a good game. Morgan should've walked for the pen though.
Showed kinda why I doubt we'll go up this year, lacked a killer instinct and we don't seem to have that lucky edge.
