You played quite well today and a draw would have probably been a fairer result, you had some great passing moves but just lacked the finish today, caused us more than a few problems and had it not been for a few superb saves from kenny could easily been other way round.

Cheers Steel OK

I fancy Leeds for promotion this season, McDermot is one of the best managers if not the best manager in that league, and Leeds have made some decent signings this summer, including Luke Murphy who i understand is good enough for Prem. 33,000 at Elland Road today, if that win can keep the fans marching back in together, Elland Road can become a fortrace. Good luck for the season mate!

Our next defeat comes on Tuesday night against Newport.

I love how Gus still feels hard done by, its all his own fault as everyone knows (that is normal and understands)

Guess we will see him court.

I do hope he can find a new job soon though, despite him having a huge month and being the most egotistic manager i've ever known, he is a decent manager and deserves a prem job. Then he can start to link himself with every job that becomes available to annoy his own fans Laugh

Don't change your tune about him Nick, just because he's left. If he was still at the club you'd still wax lyrical about him.

No Reading didn't want him mate, i understand he screwed it up (classic Poyet using his big mouth) at the final interview right before he was about to be confirmed as manager!

We let him go, gave him permission to talk to Reading, they wanted him, Poyet wanted the job, but he screwed the interview up. Apparently he said something on the lines of if i keep Reading up against the odds and a bigger offer comes in (e.g. Chelsea or someone on those lines) ill take that and be on my way. Which does sound true, and that would of probably been a likely event.

Would of been the better way if Poyet left in March, but we may of not gone on that incredible run which got us the play off spot. But i would of rather that tbh (at least we wouldn't of had the heart ache of losing to the scum) also most importantly Gus would of left on good terms and be considered a club legend. Now its a case of just accepting the good work he done, but not welcoming him home as a legend, due to what he did after the Palace game.

Sad times, but hopefully bright times ahead under Garcia. Like i said we need a manager who is hounded to be in charge of this superb football club, at the best stadium in the Championship and a club that has an ambition for the Premiership.

Hop of the Gus bus, an all aboard the Os-CAR

Of course it matters. Every game matters. The league might be more important than the Capital One Cup, but it doesn't mean it doesn't matter if your team loses. Unbelievable.

Yeah waste of 12 quid to say the least, at least the pie was top notch!!!

First half we were all over Newport, and the game should of been done and dusted by half time. 2 goals disallowed and about 5 sitters going begging.

2nd half started much like the first half all over them and Adam El-Abd almost scored a 25 yard volly, god knows what i would of done had that gone in! Then the match turned on what looked like from where i was siting, one of the worst decisions i have ever seen. Calderon and there lad both went in 50/50 to get the ball, both showed studs, there lad came of worse, both players shouldn't of even been booked, 100% not a red card and the club are rightfully appealing the decision. No excuse for there player to get booed off though, by some small sections of the crowd. Then poor defending cost us dear, as we shipped 3 stupid goals. Gordon Greer proving that he is probably the weak link in the defense. How Ashley Barnes got MOTM ill never know. Looking like a long hard season ahead.

Positives, Rohan Ince looks a good prospect, very similar to Liam Bridcutt, just a lot more taller! Oscar is probably the freshest manager in the football league, his chinos were something else last night, legend!

Final note, Justin Edinbrough (the Newport manager) is a disgrace to the football league. Mocking Calderon has he got sent off, and then offering to fight fans outside the ground and then crying to stewards. Very classless manager. On that note fair play to the Newport fans and players, they wanted it a lot more and deserved there night, recon they will probably win promotion in league 2 and we will most likely see them in league one next season.

Bring on another defeat on Saturday against Derby.

Calderon gave Newport's Byron Anthony a double leg break. Dodgy? Really? Shocker.

It wasn't a red card.

50/50 challenge. Both men dived in at each other, just there guy came off worse. Wasn't a red card, but if it was, then there player should of been sent of as well.

Also credit to Justin Edinburgh for mentioning the fact a non UK based coach, previously working in Israel (that footballing hotbed) walks into the Brighton job while several quality UK based coaches are overlooked.

Oscar Garcia starting with two defeats in two games won't help that.

It was. It was 50/50, both were dangerous, but you can see Calderon gets there just after Anthony meaning he was the one who fouled. I agree technically both should have been punished for serious foul play, but Anthony got there first and was fouled (and got his leg broken for his troubles)

I said credit to him for mentioning it, doesn't mean I necessarily agree or disagree. It's true that so many UK based coaches are overlooked for top jobs.

I've seen the challenge, have to say don't think it's a red card. Sure the guy broke his leg, but it's a genuine 50/50, and he's just been unfortunate. You shouldn't punish a player for the injury a person gets, or else a little shove could result in a broken neck and you'd get sent off, and it'd become a non contact sport

With the team we had put out, a win was always going to be a stretch, so a point would of been good, but it wasn't to be.

First half we were very poor, Leo Ulloa's goal was class though, perfect cross by Calderon and Ulloa with the goal to score his 2nd goal in 2nd league game, looking good for him. Derby knocked it around well and got a deserved goal however it was comical defending by us. Lopez than had a free kick clearly handeld by a Derby lad but Mr D'Urso wasn't interested, one of 5 clear handballs he missed, someone explains the rule to him.

2nd half i missed there goal i was downstairs finishing my half time pint. But after that we battered Derby and should of scored a lot of goals. But it wasn't our day. Derby who are probably the dirtest team i have seen at the AMEX, kept on fouling us following it up by kicking the ball away and wasting time, not how i like to lose a game of football personally, but i guess football isn't a nice game.

We all know D'Urso is a rubbish ref and we know what to expect of him, but we can't blame him. We need to sort it out, or we are looking at a trip to Crawley next season.

Positives, another goal for Ulloa and Rohan Ince put in a superb performance. Keith Andrews also looked class when he came on. Bring on an all day drinking session next week at Birmingham Smile

I'm starting to think Poyet was right saying you'd hit the roof without serious investment...

BREAKING NEWS: #BHAFC can confirm the season-long loan deal of Stephen Ward from Wolves

I'm not a great Wayne Bridge fan, but that's a heck of a step down at LB

Signing Stephen Ward from Wolves, wow that is a huge step down from Wayne Bridge! But at least we have an actual LB now.

Rejected a bid from Leeds for Gordon Greer, why we have done this ill never know, Greer has looked crap the opening 3 games and is very slow. We need a young hungry quick center back to partner Upson. Greer today sadly signed a new contract.

Buzzing for Birmingham away tomorrow, love away games! However not looking forward to the football, watching us lose and play rubbish in the 90 minutes of football. I put a few quid on us to lose 2-0.

Team ill go for

GK Polish Tom
RB Calderon
LB Ward (if signed) or Maksimenko
CB Upson
CB Greer (sadly)
RCM Spanish Dave
CM Andrews
LCM Agustin
ARM Buckley
ST Ulloa
ALM Barnes

Subs
Ankercrap
El-Abd
Ince
Caskey
Lua Lua
March
Crofts

Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo Yahoo

Fantastic day out! Beer, gear and Gordon Greer!!!!!!

For the match its self, i would actually say this was our worst performance of the season, yet its the one we win!!! First half though we looked the much better side, Birmingham looked a very poor side and i can see them being in a relegation battle this season tbh. Why they had Chris Burke on the bench ill never know.

2nd half we started of poorly, and i had to bite the finger nails a few times as Birmingham hit the bar twice from range. I believe that was the only 2 shots they had all game. Then we started to dominate and Agustin and Barnes were wasteful in front of goal. But then step forward Andy Crofts a player i was shocked who was starting, but his finish was superb and sent the superb albion fans into raptures, fell down a row or 2!

I would say Gordon Greer was probably MOTM, had a very solid game as well as playing some wordy passes. Stephen Ward and Keith Andrews both played very well, could be 2 good signings, when it comes to the away games at these places. Buckley looked poor, but it looks like Lua Lua is on his way to the scum, judging by his tweets after the day, not sure why Palace would sign him, when he can't get a game at Championship level, with a standard team!

First win, lets enjoy it because that's all were going to have until we play Milwall! Can see us losing to Burnley next week.
