First topic message reminder :

This is where you bid for National League players.

You can also release players to National League sides for a small fee based on Experience here.

For Budgets please see SJE Budget page

Rules for Domestic Transfers from other UK clubs outside the Premiership

1. All domestic transfers need to state (i) full name of player (ii) club signing from and (iii) the initial bidding price.

2. The bid will be accepted/rejected after 24hours.

3. However, if a player is dual-registered the player whose club he is dual registered with will automatically get the opportunity to call that player up into their academy. They will have 48 hours after the initial bid to declare that this is what they are doing. The player must be named in their academy and if they are over the 20 player limit they will have to remove a player from the academy.

4. If this is not done within 48 hours of the original bid being accepted then they will not be entitled to have that player in their academy.

5. There will also be a premium rate for players that move clubs in this way, with a minimum of £1m being paid to the club that loses its academy prospect by means of compensation. This figure will be decided by the person responsible for domestic transfers.

6. If a young player is signed from a rugby league club they will NOT then form part of your own academy unless they are under 18. If you would like an over 18 year old to join your club you must bid from them in the same way you would do a Championship player.

Would expect it to be similar to Tom Savage above. Both lads have played for the sale jets (sale a's) this year and been involved with the academy set up at Sale this year. Shall leave it to Driver to decide thumbsup

Dont see how that is fair. Think it should stay the way its been since the start of the game. If you want an academy player you should have to go to the team whom he playys for in real life. Most sides have loads of link ups and massive academys so how are we suppose to keep an eye on all academy players. I know now from this game that Sale are notoriously bad for keeping info on their academy updated. Their jets section is terrible which makes it hard to keep on top of things. Sure it might be similar for some others

SJE - no club keeps a good record of their academy, for example Wasps have about 10 players in their actual academy who they keep with a view to move them into the first team.

I think the limit is quite clearly set at 20 players and it should stay that way - the thing is you have 20 academy players, but then someone tries to sign someone else but you then say that signing cant be made because he's in the 'x' academy then you've broken a rule in the game.

To be fair it shouldnt be that hard as people will generally only find out about a player if they are either called up to the England u18, u20 squad or are given a debut - just takes a little more time to do.

fair enough with mullarkey. he will be in the sale academy soon but mulchrone is too old or will be next season so if you want him in your squad then go for it but you cant keep him from me otherwise, dont have dual reg in this game

How about banning signing players from the Championship during the off season and you get a window and bids as foreigns.

But for what you wanted to do everyone would have to have an in depth knowledge of their clubs academy and would need to know the players which just isnt going to happen for all of us. Why should i be at a disadvantage not being able to see the local youngsters at Sale every other weekend and Steve then at an advantage because he does?

This is a very murky are to be going into and could have big effects in a few seasons down the line if the league is stil going. What are sides going to do if there academy has been prillaged?

Its very hard justifying putting an 18 year old in your academy because someone might be in for him over a lad at 20 who could be on the verge of breaking into the first team? But then that player 2 years later could have come on leaps and bounds and be a potential superstar.

Things should stay as they are and if you want a lad who is involved with one of the premiership academys you should have to go to that team first.

If that's the case then just say you have an unlimited academy.

I have no idea who is a good player in the Saints Academy, so it is about taken a gamble, but if you are clever with it the 20 player limit is pretty fair and allows you to take risks, when it was just 10 people it was harder to manage - I just think we should list the academy out, as we have a 20 player limit for a reason, and it could become a way of people being able to stockpile up on the English players.

Pooly, I dont see what banning bids for Championship players would do, its bringing more English players into the league, and everyone has a fair opportunity to find a good English player in the lower leagues. Maybe ban it when the season starts?

I cant see where it allows you to stock pile up on engish players. All your doing is holding onto your own clubs academy players! Making a judgement at 18 on players you havent seen play is pretty ludicrous. And if the league is still going in 2 or more years could see sides really struggle with the eq rule if most of their academy is gone! Like i said above its only really giing an advantage to those who have seen these lads play which isnt fair on everyone else.

But SJE, I havent seen any of the Saints lads play - I've spent ages building up my academy from all over the place, so for example if I have 15 players who I have bought under the age of 21 and they go into my academy, then that means I get the pick of the Saints academy, which has 20 players in it, giving me an academy of 35 players in theory - not sure if thats right?

How many players under the age of 21 are going to start in this league? Actually how many players under 21 currently start on a regular basis in the league at the moment? If these players were all starting quality then id say its dodgy but most of them are not.

At the moment we have to make a decision on these players at 21 when they might have had only sporadic first team rugby. Making a decision at 18 is near on impossible and will really effect the league in later seasons. I say this as someone with a team who has been pillaged since the league started. Sale have some great youngsters in the likes of Gaskell, Fearns Thomas and co and because the previous managers had no clue of their potential I have not one in my squad.

Guys

If the player you are bidding for is involved with a sides academy or 'A' team in then as far as i'm concerned he is in there academy set up in this game.

Sorry Steve

Should try to remember not to post when half cut lol

You have first dibs on any players who have been involved with quins academy or 'A' team. To secure them though you must pay £5m if they they were not in your academy if you don't wish to pay this then it's hunting season.

5m for an academy player? Is that not a bit much Driver mate when it was only this time last year you could sign national league players for .25m?
And does that mean you have to pay every year when you update your academy with the new lads coming in and the over age players?

Well I am puzzled now.

Mulchrone has played for the Sale Jets IRL but has never had any contract with Sale IRL and has never been in SJE's academy or squad of 55 but he is still his player?

He is contracted to Macclesfield who are in no way linked to Sale (in a Hartbury/Gloucester way I mean) besides the occasional player borrowed for a Jets game.

BTW Johnny Sale's academy page is perfectly up to date. The players contracted with Sale are all listed on the appropriate page.

The Sale page is notorious for never being up to date steve. Discussions on the rugby network page every summer about how poor the club are at keeping the academy and fans up to date.

Mulchrone has played and trained with the jets this year. Sale have link ups with most of the national clubs up there, except most notably Flyde (would have though with Robbo there they would have great link ups? Whats the story there?) and will bring players in for training and jets games throughout the years.

Got to get some good young players in Pete - doing a big clear out at Saints, got rid of my older players and builfing on youth.

Keep an eye out next year for Mako Vunipola (front row) for Bath, James Craig a young lock Saints signed from Leeds, Henry Thomas (front row for Sale), Jake Abbott a star in the making for Worcestor (why they let Wood go!), and Calum Clark becoming an England player post WC.

Also should see the emergence of Ben Moon from Exeter and Joe Launchbury and Elliot Daly at Wasps.

Taking a massive risk next season but I'm going for my youth team out of the WC, though seeing some of the posts by other teams about their WC teams it looks like I could let myself in for a hard WC month!

Ok I will show Driver when I put the bid in, and because no one put in a counter offer Gulliver is clearly my player. You had your chance to put in a counter bid but didnt take it.

As soon as you put a bid in and dont cancel it then you have to take that player in your squad - I had an issue with it start of last season when I bidded a player and didnt follow through with it and put him in my squad.

I havent edited my team in at least 3 days mate, you must have missed him in my locks!
