National League bidding page
First topic message reminder :
This is where you bid for National League players.
You can also release players to National League sides for a small fee based on Experience here.
For Budgets please see SJE Budget page
Rules for Domestic Transfers from other UK clubs outside the Premiership
1. All domestic transfers need to state (i) full name of player (ii) club signing from and (iii) the initial bidding price.
2. The bid will be accepted/rejected after 24hours.
3. However, if a player is dual-registered the player whose club he is dual registered with will automatically get the opportunity to call that player up into their academy. They will have 48 hours after the initial bid to declare that this is what they are doing. The player must be named in their academy and if they are over the 20 player limit they will have to remove a player from the academy.
4. If this is not done within 48 hours of the original bid being accepted then they will not be entitled to have that player in their academy.
5. There will also be a premium rate for players that move clubs in this way, with a minimum of £1m being paid to the club that loses its academy prospect by means of compensation. This figure will be decided by the person responsible for domestic transfers.
6. If a young player is signed from a rugby league club they will NOT then form part of your own academy unless they are under 18. If you would like an over 18 year old to join your club you must bid from them in the same way you would do a Championship player.

Re: National League bidding page
I have an ideas for Academy's next season.
I personally think that the academy should be for those who we trade to get (so mine would have Gibson, Glynn, Jones etc in it but players like Lindsey-Hague, Collier and Buchanan are Quins players in real life wouldn't count as part of my academy)
When the Quins academy players like Collier become ineligible for the academy then I would have to decide to incorporate him into the my squad or he is fair game.
So effectively We'd have say a 10 man academy for players we acquired from other clubs or foreigns and then an unlimited academy for those who are with the club and wouldn't have to be named on a squad page unless they were being played in this game. So if I wanted to sign a under 16 from Sale who was promising I would have to offer cash or players to SJE regardless of whether he was listed in his squad because he is with Sale in real life.
The only problem I'd see with this is players moving from academy to academy (ie Launchbury initially affiliated to Quins but then went to Wasps)

Yeah as I was reading that Steve I saw the same problem as you could be hard to polie. I know i have a few lads who have moved on from Sale to over academys. Only found out recently that Tom Casson was originally a Sale academy boy wouldnt mind having him

Doubt you could go for many more with the troubles your having with keeping your squads inside the rules!!
Surely theres fines, point deductions, transfer embargos etc coming Saints way from the RFU at this stage...

Re: National League bidding page
Well perhaps you could list your most important 'home' academy players on your squad page for such a circumstance.
Its an idea that if worked on could save issues

SJE - I am going to report you to the IRB too, along with Gaddaffi...oh sorry I meant Driver!
Not sure if we should go round poaching other players for academies - maybe have an embargo until they are 20 or something? Then free for all?

But then we bring up the problem of unlimited academys that you were so against in previous discussions on this?
Its quite interesting going back over the comments on this page...
May 28th...
If only we knew back then... 3 months of overaged players...

Re: National League bidding page
he's in my academy mate, not at a feeder club or anything like that.
rules as I understand it was that if you want a player from someones academy then you go directly to that player and bid for them like you would another player - if they dont have room in their own academy then that's when bids get accepted etc.
Personally everyone should list their academies out, as some people have effectively got well over 20 players in their academy and I dont think its fair on people who list out their academy properly, so you know who they have etc.
I liked Steven's suggestion earlier in the thread.

"You have first dibs on any players who have been involved with quins academy or 'A' team. To secure them though you must pay £5m if they they were not in your academy if you don't wish to pay this then it's hunting season."
That was from Driver mate, think you need to pay 5m when others are interested. Good player and starting for Saints, worth 5m

Re: National League bidding page
The way I see it is as follows:
We keep our 20 player academy limit. We can have our own academy players, foreigns and signings from other clubs in the academy.
Academy players under the age of 18 should be protected. If a side does not have the player listed in their squad you should still have to deal with that sides manager. There is no requiremnt to list them in your academy. This is to help protect each side and make sure they have something coming through from their own academy as the more seasons we go through the more important it will come to have new EQ coming through at every side to keep the league balanced. (Obviously if you buy a player under 18 in from elsewhere you must list him!)
For players of 18 or older if we wish to keep these players we must bring them into our 20 player academy limit. If a side is interested in such a player they should first enquire with that players team manager first. The manager should then bring the player into his squad if he wants him (and has enough room!). If he does not bring him into the squad the player is open game and can be bidded for on the transfer page by the normal means.
At least this way every side will still have an inflow of young EQ players guranteed but it stops us from just hording our own academy players for ever and brings some judgement into the game.

£5m then - he's mine? Fine.
not sure that people should do things like that - everyone has seemed to stay away from other people's academy players. N

What do you think to the proposal above Chris/Matt?
Think it stops the unlimited academy's problems we came across the last time we were talking about this but at least protects everyones academy to some extent

Re: National League bidding page
SJE - sounds good, I'd have it as 19 because a lot of clubs websites dont have the best detail about academies e.g. Wasps dont have dobs etc, so you really need to know the club in detail - Arry could have another 5-6 really good players listed if that was the case. Think Newcastle, Sale and Gloucester are the same - so you really need to know your clubs to get the players e.g. I could have taken a load of good players from Arry and he wouldnt have a clue who they were.
Also think we should just say an academy player has to be 21 during the season, as it gets so complicated and speaking from my side, I really dont have the time to check everyones age.

That's harder Chris as it would so open to abuse. 21 before 1st Sept is pretty easy to follow I think

The rules are fairly simple and have been in place for a long time now. It's not difficult, not sure what the issue is as to why people are wanting them changed.

I know, it's pretty simple Pooly, born on or after 01/09/1990. Not sure why it would need to be changed.

Re: National League bidding page
Im with Pete and Pooly. I dont see any need to change the age limit or cut off point. It works fine. You only have to look once and keep a record of your players DOB's. Then its just a matter of checking them every summer to make sure their in the limit. If you have the time to check other peoples academy you should have the time to check your own
