Foreign Transfers
First topic message reminder :
As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.
For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.
There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.
Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.
Current Bids Under Consideration
stnick88 - Netani Talei - £16 million (06/06/12 - 15:12)
anonmattyt - Karl Chateau - £13 million (06/06/12 - 14:50)
Arry - Ben Daley - £15 million (06/06/12 - 12:22)
dammit_chris - Sebastien Taofifenua - £11 million (06/06/12 - 12:04)
Steven_Sharks - Iain Henderson - £5 million (06/06/12 - 11:34)
Ozzy3213 - Dewaldt Duvenage - £12 million (06/06/12 - 11:33)
prop_lyd - Eli Walker - £5 million (06/06/12 - 08:49)

Re: Foreign Transfers
Tuohy is capped, a very good player and in great form so would be looking for a minimum bid of £18 million to secure his services Arry.
If you can raise that by midnight he is yours.

And happy to loan you the money - just make sure you read the small print of Northampton Loan Sharks and the 1000% interest rates, payback clauses of taking Jamie Roberts if the £3000m isnt repaid within 30 days etc, etc.

Rhys Ruddock turned 21 last November driver, and he's capped, so £15.4 million wouldn't be enough in any case. Sorry mate REJECTED

Pete are there any rules for multiple bids and if you do a bid are you then allowed to back out of it?

Re: Foreign Transfers
Only allowed 1 bid at a time Chris mate. Not sure on withdrawing bids but has been allowed before so im sure you can withdraw if your at risk of losing out on another potential target

Re: Foreign Transfers
Ok, just to answer a couple of points that have been raised.
1. You may bid on 1 player at a time.
2. If you enter into into a bidding war for a player, and you drop out whilst yours is the highest bid, I will have to give serious consideration as to whether you really wanted the player or were just hiking up the price for your opponent. If I feel that is the case, your opponent will get the player for either 50% of his last bid or the low end price for a player of that experience (whichever is the lower of the two). I will also give consideration to banning you from putting in any bids for a set period of time.
Hope this clears things up for people.

Mat
I've just seen your point in relation to opening bids early and I agree that potentially some might miss out, so unless everyone has got a bid in today I won't accept/reject any bids until Monday afternoon/evening.

As everyone has either posted a bid or posted on this thread since it opened and therefore everyone knows bidding is open, I will answer bids 24 hours from when they were made (or as soon as possible after 24 hours depending on when I am on).

Re: Foreign Transfers
Is there anyway we could have bids which are too low rejected as soon as you see them Pete, particularly ones which you have to take on merit due to them not really fitting into the guidelines.

Re: Foreign Transfers
I think the whole tactical aspect of bidding is better if you have to our wait
A day. It stops people putting in silly bids.
