As a general rule, if you want a world class player (and by world class I mean a player that I consider to be one of the 3 best in the world in his position at the moment), you will be looking at between £20-25 million.

For a top international with over 30 caps, £17-22 million, and an international with less than 30 caps £15-20 million. There may be some exceptions to this in the case of certain players, but this will be the general rule.

There will be an upper limit of £10 million for uncapped academy aged players unless two or more managers want the player and enter into a bidding war in which case there is no upper limit.

Bids for uncapped players who are over academy age limits will be judged on their own individual merits.

I thought he'd go for much more Steve judging by who fancied him, academy age too is a bonus too.

At 28 mil myself I am tempted to bid but I won't be able to outbid matt and will risk losing players in next 'round'

Think there is a lot of quality being signed this window. Etzbeth is a great signing for anyone in this league. Cuthbert for me is going to be a star , really good broken field runner.

I had to go for him Matt with him being a Red. Still a few years away from being a international and I will be devastated if my bid isn't enough for a guy with 35 mins of Super rugby experience.

He is only a kid Pooly I've known of him for a few months. Won't feature much for me next season should I get him.

There are some great youngsters out there and will be a good way of extending squad beyond 40.

Having goosen and hopefully etzbeth will give me a few more options.

At present 10 people have bids on different players, and 2 are contesting for Denton. IF we get to the point where all 12 managers have a bid on a different player I will answer bids before the 24 hour rule being up as there's no point stringing things out for no good reason.

You wouldn't be able to outbid without dropping the bid you currently had in and I am presuming that everyone wants the player they are currently bidding for so are unlikely to withdraw their bid.

All depends on what Arry does Mat. If he comes in with a bid for somebody who nobody else had bid on I will answer bids then. If he comes back in for Denton or switches to someone else that's already bid on then I will have to wait the 24 hours.

Pete will up my bid for the Tongan from £13m to £16m as he has 5caps. Didnt realise he was capped until this afternoon!
