Garcia v Mathysse
Apparently the fight will be on the undercard of Floyd v Canelo. If so then great card. But how do you see the fight going?

It's a good matchup for sure.............It's not easy to call......Mathysse has more power but both are lacking in the boxing skill department.........
I'll pick Matthyse by 6th round ko.........Not convinced by Garcia yet..........Was being outboxed by Khan when he landed.......

Most LWW would be outboxed by Khan. The fact that he sussed out Khan so quickly was impressive.

KO for Matthysse. Garcia is not great at getting out of the way, so it becomes a battle of power shots. I giver Garcia 8/9 rounds as he seems fairly tough.

He threw that left hook a few times before the big one landed. He timed Khan well, it's as simple as that. I remember all throughout the press conferences and interviews that Garcia said 'timing beats speed'. He's got very good timing - probably his best asset.
This is a really good fight. Garcia is tough and has good power. But, he's there to be hit, and I don't think that's good news against Matthyse. Pretty convinced that Matthyse will KO him in the later rounds after a good battle.

Didn't convince against an old Judah though..........Garcia does everything good but nothing great...
Matthyse does everything good but raps harder..
That's the difference for me.

That's it. Neither will be able to avoid many punches, but Matthysse throws straighter and harder. Garcia is getting sparked.

I like garcia. His dad is hilarious. But he does have a weakness against straight punchers. Throw in the added power of matthysse then it looks like a hard night for garcia.

Garcia is distinctly average as far as I'm concerned. Matthysse stoppage before the end of the 7th.

Garcia is very average indeed. Can't wait to see him take a whooping. Ideally would like the see Lucas smack him around the ring and Floyd give him a genuine schooling. Would be a VERY easy night's work for PBF.

I'm leaning towards matthysse but with the power the two had it's going to keep you on the edge of your seat throughout.

Great match up here.
Matthysse is my bet but Garcia has good power himself in the exchange so there could be some great fire fights, especially with Matthysse looking to engage.
I hope Matthysse gets the win.

Hope it's true, and I hope its on the Mayweather- Canelo bill, such a great fight and a headliner in its own right
Only one outcome for me, Matthysse hits too hard and Danny is too easy to hit. Matthysse may have to be wary of Garcia's left hook in the first few rounds, but I'm still not convinced he hits that hard. It took him a second time to stop an old fat morales and Khan is......well Khan, anyone is a puncher against him. Judah said that Matthysse hits a lot harder than Danny so I'll go on that
Both are flatfooted, but Matthysse is naturally stronger and will be on the front foot whereas Danny will have to give ground and will struggle to keep him off

Great fight, finally Matthyse has been allowed to be let loose on the big boys of the division, could go either way, would lean towards Matthysse, but Garcia most certainly has enough to beat him.

Peterson is one of the big boys and matthyse rolled over him without much fuss.

Not in my view to be honest, he was juiced against Khan, he's always been susceptible to being taken out early, lots of early knockdowns in his career, usually been able to come back but Matthysse didn't allow him to, full credit to him for that win, but I just don't see Peterson there with the top dogs.

You don't think Khan giving away rounds lying on the ropes and telling him to hit him...was smart Boxing..

Absolutely, Khan also had a role in it, did not box to the best of his ability, but Peterson was juicing.

No argument about that......Just think khan should have beat him anyway had he been more professional.

Yeah, I agree. Still think that Peterson being on steroids made the fight far more competetive than it would have been without.

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
Peterson also got a draw with Ortiz (who I actually had beating Peterson) who, while limited, hits very hard and he gave Braldey some problems also
Matthysse will take a lot of confidence in how Judah rocked Garcia multiple times in the closing rounds of there fight. In the Matthysse-Judah fight Judah managed to outbox Lucas early but never hurt him so we can assume that not only does Matthysse hit harder but he's got better stamina and a better chin

Don't hold much hope for Garcia in this one. Could be a war for a few rounds before Garcia gets knocked the out.
Garcia's got 4 or 5 rounds in him though.

Matthysse by KO inside 4.
Garcia is over rated. Beating old men and a paper jawed Amir Khan.

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
From what I've seen of Garcia I suspect he might have another dimension to his game which will be needed badly against Matthysse. I've only seen him in with Morales, Judah and Khan and against all those guys you're going to want to impose yourself physically and box up close, especially Khan and Judah as they have much faster hands than him. Matthysse is a different animal and can be out boxed and out sped from range which is what Garcia will need to do as if you stand in front of him you get flattened as Lucas hits so hard and picks his shots well. Has anyone seen Holt vs Garcia? I know Garcia won but what was the fight like and how did he deal with a puncher?

Garcia in Five... Why? Because he's just that good. Failing that, Matthyse wipes the floor with him

Kingraf.....is that sarcasm? IM not sure i understand your statement.
he wins in five because he is THAT good, but yet if he don't, he gets knocked out early? Indicating what?
its too hot, in confused.

Basically, I think Garcia will catch him... In Five maximum. But Matthyse hits like a ton of bricks. Therefore he will knock him... eh?
Im not sure what I was trying to say either, I really needed the loo while I typed that last post.

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
Holt v Garcia wasn't matadore stuff from Garcia from what I remember if that's what you're thinking. He stood up to Holt more as it went on and rocked him but Holt's power wasn't the sort that carried late and not as brutal as Lucas is early. Peterson was far, far more convincing against Holt than was Danny.

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
In all of Garcia's fights, he has never looked as good on the back foot and I just cant see him not being the one giving ground. Judah found him an easy target when on the retreat and in both the holt fight and the morales fight it wasn't until he started walking forward that he took control of those fights
Matthysse likewise doesn't like going backwards but hes less likely to get pushed back as he is stronger, tougher and has the better power

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
I make Mattysse a 60/40 favourite in a fight I can see both hitting the deck.
I think Mattysse's relentless style and power will eventually catch up with Garcia for a late TKO or a UD.
A brilliant fight to not be the main event.
Once the current PPV stars fade away which will be soon, boxing will need to stack their cards better to justify PPV.

Apparently Matthysse is leading the "Who should Broner fight next" Leaderboard, so a potential windfall for him if he gets this win, as I can see a Floyd fight in eighteen months so, provided he beats Broner and Garcia

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
While I thought Garcia done very well against Khan and worked out a weakness and it worked for him, I do think that maybe in a rematch Khan would beat him as apart from him being dangerous with a big punch I dont think he is a really skillful boxer. I have not seen enough of Matthysse but he looks like he can bang harder than anyone right now and I think he carries his power with every punch where Garcia seems to wait for that swinging right to land... So my money would be on Matthysse, with either a late stoppage or winning a 12rnd war..

Mathysse is in one of those little zones at the minute for me where I just cannot see who can beat him right now. Mid round stoppage for Lucas is all I can see happening.
Superb card though if this happens. Might even buy Boxnation for a month.

Just be confirmed on Twitter by Schaefer & Dan Rafael that Garcia v Matthyse will be on the PBF v Canelo undercard, and will have it's own 3 stop press tour. Schaefer expecting the card to break all records.

This surely has to be up there for one of the best undercard fights for a decade, #1 & #2 at LWW and both hold a lot of power and have exciting styles, what more can you ask for
Everyday it seems Canelo-Mayweather is going to get more and more viewers than first thought and this will only add to that

I've got this feeling that Danny Garcia will be knocked out hard, and knocked out early. Lucas hits like a mule kicking a angry farmhand, whereas Danny just hits like an angry farmhand. Matthysse KO2.

Rumour has it that its already smashed the gate record held by Mayweather vs ODLH. Made an astonishing $19.5 million!!
Im predicting a Mathyssee EKO and a Mayweather UD in two very exciting fights (i think mayweather may struggle rounds 1-3 with the sheer size).
Cracking card and i cant wait now.

Im going to pi55 into the wind here and say Garcia wins on points. I think he will pick Matthysse off. Or if that doesnt happen then he will get the nod regardless in a blatent highway robbery.
I dont think this will be the destruction job a lot of people think.
If I am right I will do a Davide or Mackem and write about my correct decision for weeks!!!

Re: Garcia v Mathysse
i feel garcia's power is been underrated here, he put morales out cold in the 2nd fight with a left hook that would have KO'd a horse, and repeated the same shot on khan, proving its not coincidence. you could say morales was past it but he gave maidana one hell of a fight previously. garcia also managed a win against zab which lucas failed today (robbery claims aside).
i think this fight may come down to who has the best chin, im hoping for matthessye and think he will be able to manage a win, but not the walk over some are suggesting, and if he did KO him early it would be hugely impressive.
this is a huge LWW bout, the winner would really be the top dog in a stacked division, and there are plenty of big money fights for the winner.

I think people are seeing Matthysse win this early by stoppage on showing against Peterson. If Devon went distance 2 years ago then I can't see him stopping Garcia, Garcia holds just as much venom in his shots, I don't know who has the better chin but I agree with eddy in the sense whoever buckles first will lose. If it goes the distance Garcia will get the decision, team Matthysse will know this and I believe they will be gunning for a K.O. Id go for Garcia points.
