I wouldnt mind venturing that if Arsenal dont sign Suarez they wont spend over £50m.
Also, nothing on this thread about Laurent Blanc (basically) claiming Jo Kebab will move to either Tottenham or PSG if he does indeed leave Newcastle. Spurs will then line up:
Lloris
Vertonghen
Sandro Paulinho Dembele Kebab Capoue Holtby Parker
Bale
Soldado

Reports suggesting that Man Utd have told Mr Rooney he's either moving abroad or to Arsenal as they do not want him influencing the title race.

There's been a few reports linking Arsenal to the young Sevilla defensive midfielder Kondogbia in the last few days, after seeing him last night in the flesh v Utd I'd very much recommend him, looks a real prospect.

Basically telling Rooney to go to Arsenal because they are the weakest rival, who win nothing, isn't exactly going to make him want to join them is it. Never going to Arsenal or abroad, it`s Chelsea or nothing in my opinion. Kondogbia would strengthen that midfield for Arsenal, although I'm sure they will be paying over the top for him.
No one actually confirmed to me on here about Newcastle`s £5m bid for Sinclair, confirmation? We've also warned off any club making an approach for Cabaye.

They can probably get Kondogbia for 15m max, that for a 20 year old highly rated player is par nowadays.
Can't find any official bid info on Sinclair, lots of info on that they're going to but nothing nailed on.

Is that release clause legitimate? That is ridiculous, if true. I've never actually seen him play but he is highly regarded and was indeed linked with Real and other top European sides.
Liverpool won't be signing Costa it appears after Rodgers admits the deal is dead & Barcelona dismiss interest in Vertonghan.

Thank god for that. Really didn't want to see us wasting £20 million on him.
John Arne Riise is apparently able to leave Fulham on a fee before the end of the window, I honestly wouldn't mind Liverpool taking a punt on that as a back up to Enrique. We only have Johnson and Agger as cover there at the moment and it'd be a nice to see him back at the club and I still think he has a lot to offer.
Doubt it'd happen as I imagine Riise is leaving for first team football.

Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido has confirmed that a bid has been received, but that he still hopes the player will stay.
He said: "We have rejected an offer for Kondogbia - the bid was not sufficient. Our idea is that he continues growing at Sevilla, just like he did last year. But there is a release clause that says if we have a written offer of £8.5million, we must accept it and he can go."

How Wenger has not put a bid in for him then is unbelievable. Why wait? He obviously doesn't agree that bringing in players early to adjust and get to know team-mates has any benefit. Or even just to train with them and get them up and running with tactics and positional play ahead of the season. Kondogbia at £8.5m is a bargain, surprised he has not been snapped up this late in the window.
Riise off to Werder Bremen I heard.

Do the French produce more DMs than any other nation? It's quite astounding. I couldn't name a single English DM, 2 Spanish DM's and 3 German ones but France have at least 6 high profile ones.

I'll wager it's miraculously healed come the international on Wednesday.
Aren't these type of injuries meant to be the other way round and they miss meaningless internationals yet play for their club?

Yeah, sure he'll be fine for Wednesday, although getting 45 mins out of him after not playing for a while could prove difficult.
Nothing much going on, other than Inter Milan completing the signing of Rolando from Porto on a season-long loan deal and Soldado grabbing his first goal for Tottenham against Espanyol.

A description of Luis Muriel is 'he's built like Heskey but has the skills of the Brazilian Ronaldo'
He's highly rated, I doubt many people have seen him play but you might have. Apparently his dribbling and ball control has set him apart from most players of his generation within Serie A, hence the Ronaldo comparison's. I guess having signed a new deal last year, his fee is going to be something ridiculous.

Good point made on the Suarez situation.
He could play in the Champions League qualifiers for Arsenal could he not?
Would make even more sense for Arsenal to get him in asap...

If the Bale situation doesn't go through, which is looking the case, it's more and more likely Real plumping for Suarez at a more reasonable £50m instead, where they know they can get a deal done and dusted.
As for Arsenal, Wenger doesn't know what ASAP means. He needs to take his time, relax some more, count up the money again at his disposal, take a stroll, think about a bid another day, no rush, maybe visit France again and look at some highly rated youngsters that won't materialise into world beaters and so on and on..........You get the picture.

Real do have a strange transfer policy.
It's as if they have to make a marquee signing just for the sake of it. It's not like bale and Suarez are remotely similar.

Cardiff have broken their transfer record three times this year, spending £26.5 million. I know they have a very rich owner, but that is a lot of money to spend on three players with very little Premier League experience.

Very true
The reason why we have a surplus of DMs is that physical attributes are favoured over skills at younger levels so you end up with strong athletic guys making 80% of the U18. It's sad really as someone like messi would have had to stop playing football at 14 year old here but we won our world cup thanks to that strategy, a bit of luck and obviously zidane (the 1998 team had 3 DMs starting with another one or two on the bench and no real forward!).

Guivarch, Boumsong, Fabrice Pancrate, Obertan & Romain Amalfitano.....shocking. Someone put them on a boat and sailed them up the Newcastle upon Seine and we had to endure their diabolical performances or the 'no performance' in the case of Amalfitano. Truly horrific.

Mind you, if you complain about guivarch, wonder what Liverpool fans must say about Diomede who played like 2 games there in one season before being loaned.

Luis Gustavo is a decent player, nothing more & I feel Arsenal could do better. It certainly doesn't blow you away or have the impact, say a Fernandinho signing has. Bayern need to shed players that aren't needed, so this could happen.
Vydra to WBA, does that mean they have ended interest in Sinclair? Apparently the Gomis to Newcastle deal is struggling to happen, high wage demands. Also, Gareth Barry left out of City`s friendly trip, injured or a move away?

I think Gustavo is a very good signing, underrated at Bayern where he has been pushed out of the squad by some of the best midfielders in the world, he'll be a good addition to the Arsenal squad for £14 million.
The thing is, I'm not sure he's adding to an area which Arsenal need to desperately add to. Goalkeeper, defender, wingers and strikers are all areas that should be improved more.

Exactly. Goalkeeper is a must, central defender & of course a striker. He isn't really needed & @£14m seems steep to me, for a player that isn't going to add to much to what's already there. Strange........but then that's Wenger for you.
Everton make bid of £5m for Toby Alderweireld.

With Begovic and Cesar available for cheap this season, they're a much better option than Szczesny. He didn't perform at the same standard last year and Arsenal could do with a more experienced, top keeper. You can even keep Sczesny and let the new goalkeeper pass on his experience. The Special Juan wrote:What's wrong with Chesney? Odd that Butland hasn't gone out on loan, with the World Cup this year he'd surely be desperate to play just so he can go even though he won't play.
