haha, can't believe this but I've just read a report on it. They've lost their first four games or something and the owner has sacked Rene Meulensteen, formely of Manchester United. That must mean players like Eto'o & Willian are up for sale, astonishing. Mourinho wanted Eto'o instead of Shevchenko didn't he, maybe too old now but a remarkable story, if all true. They just bought Samba back from QPR didn't they, so he's theoretically back up for sale....haha:D

It was a bad move for Rene. Worked at the biggest club in world football with a stable environment and went to a bit of circus club with a nuts owner, as shown here. Shame he didn't go to wigan. I'm pretty sure you are correct when you say that Jose Mourinho wanted Eto'o i believe as the first choice but when we didn't manage to buy him, Jose Mourinho bought Shevchenko as his second choice. I read about it on the Chelsea website, there was an article with an interview with Jose Mourinho and he explained it there.

HAVING so far been thwarted in its attempt to attack American targets in the Middle East, is al-Qaeda instead turning its attention to Gareth Bale?

According to a report in the Guardian Nigeria, the terrorist group has "threatened to deal with Tottenham Hotspur over the stars [sic] move to Real Madrid".

The paper takes as its source the Italian website Calciomercato, which in turn says that it picked up the report up from the media in Abu Dhabi. Apparently the threat has less to do with al-Qaeda's concern that the transfer of Bale to the Spanish capital might leave Spurs short of creativity and more to do with the club's links to London's Jewish community.

The Nigeria Guardian says al-Qaeda has described Tottenham in terms that are unlikely to be heard any time soon on the BBC's Football Focus.

Deriding the Lilywhites as "Jews who will be punished for their greed by the wrath of God and by the sound of arms", al-Qaeda also harangued them as "unscrupulous merchants". Fortunately the global terror organisation stopped short of criticizing Andre Villas-Boas' attacking 4-3-3 formation that last season took them to within a whisker of qualifying for the Champions League

But that is not the only story that has changed. Arsenal's interest and Suárez's apparent willingness to move to the Emirates sits uneasily with his previous insistence that the problem resided largely with the English media: London is in England too. Anonymity may prove easier in London than Liverpool but that is not an explanation Suárez offers for the contradiction. Have to say I've been really disappointed with Ed Woodward and Moyes here. Not only have they missed out on their main transfer target, but they now look like they've left it too late to meet a buy out clause in Fellainis contract, a player they could have easily picked up the minute the transfer window opened.

Now we're in a position were Everton have a midfield player that Moyes wants and no obligation to sell, or sell on the cheap at least

To be fair to Moyes, he isn't the one who actually goes out and signs the players. He says who he wants and it's up to Woodward and co to go out and sign them. I think the club's in financial bother and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if there was only one signing or even none.

Guy is an unreal talent, he is fast too. Maybe not a comparison some will like but a bit like Adebayor in that he has real speed for a big guy. Except he is much taller and much better overall, I think any Prem club should have a look if you can get him for under 20 million

Stinks of desperation bidding for Fellaini after missing out on basically everyone else. It`s also an easy option with the clause & raiding former clubs for their players. Poor start for the CE/Moyes. Fellaini @ United just does not feel right at all, horrible deal in my opinion. Without doubt Chelsea & City have the upper hand.

I don't think he does either deep down but the timing isn't great & replacements are thin. Mourinho likes to have total control and players with known positions and job roles. Luiz is the complete opposite & temperamental. Barcelona's bid would have to be huge you would imagine, unless Jose already has a replacement, possibly Mangala from Porto.
