Don't worry guys, he won't necessarily end up in the centre. What he actually says is:
"I’d love to factor in playing a bit more infield either in the centre of maybe going as far as stand off."

The SRU should really replace the calanders at Murrayfield, every day seems to be April the 1st!
Re: New Edinburgh and Glasgow Teams Thread - 2013/2014
Also RDW, fancy skipping off to Murrayfield and tweeting some pics of the new Edinburgh kit for us?
Re: New Edinburgh and Glasgow Teams Thread - 2013/2014
Cuthbert at fly half or centre. That isn't funny at all.

Or Solomons is a genius, pioneering the use of the crash ball 10! Tomorrow's news, Lee Jones moves to tighthead!funnyExiledScot wrote:Cuthbert at fly half or centre. That isn't funny at all.
Joking aside, I hope this is just a case of a journalist asking a leading question like "if you had to change position which one would you choose"

I like the hoops, maybe would have preferred the collar that they've used on the Scotland top but the rest looks good to me.

He looks very handy. Nice to see a back rower who actually pumps his legs and tackles with passion. A rare commodity in this day and age.nickj wrote:Majestic, do we know whether Lachlan McCaffrey's even on the SRU's radar?
I had a bit of a scout around and interestingly it seems Lachlan has the same agent as Josh Strauss.

"Edinburgh... are taking advanced orders at the Scottish Rugby store in person and on the phone... It is anticipated that kit will then be available to collect or purchase in person at the end of August." Still no word on price. Seems weird that they'd expect people to pre order something without knowing the price?
Re: New Edinburgh and Glasgow Teams Thread - 2013/2014
Also seems fairly daft to release the strip a week before the season starts - they've surely been planning it for ages!

does the new strip come with iron on elbow patches, or do you have to get your own??
think they look alright, makes me think that by the law of averages the new glasgow top will resemble that rotten thing embra wore a few years back.

Knowing the SRU, it'll probably be exactly the same strip with the badges and sponsor information taped over and replaced.....HawkTheSlayersRubbish wrote:makes me think that by the law of averages the new glasgow top will resemble that rotten thing embra wore a few years back.

Re: New Edinburgh and Glasgow Teams Thread - 2013/2014
I appreciate all the red trouser chat.
I remember my first match at Scotstoun last September, looking über suave with a nice shirt and khaki chinos.
By December I had abandoned ste in favour of full winter survival mode - thermal gear, two jumpers, two vests, a fleece, a jacket, and somewhere in between the layers my Glasgow shirt.
I basically looked like Dolf Lundgren from the neck down, and then Toby McGuire again by the playoffs.

Re: New Edinburgh and Glasgow Teams Thread - 2013/2014
yeah, sometimes there is just no point in wearing your strip!
I remember going to the IRB 7's (before they ridiculously moved it away form Murrayfield) even though it was "summer" I had full waterproofs and fleeces on.
was one of those days where I wished you were allowed to take your own flask of tea into the ground!
