Champions League Group Stages - Page 6 Empty Champions League Group Stages

Post by Crimey Thu Aug 29, 2013 4:19 pm

First topic message reminder :

The draw is tonight and we could have some potentially crazy strong groups, Manchester City have a 50% chance of being in the same group as Bayern Munich or Barcelona.

What is the tie everybody wants to see in the group stages?

The sending off was a disgrace. It was silly of Brown but Neymar's playacting is just embarrassing.
Having said that, I wanted Barca to win. Celtic were just tedious.
I know Barca were without Messi but I can't see them winning the tournament having watched that match. Bayern would thump them again.
Fraser Forster's double was probably one of the best bits of goalkeeping I've seen. Wenger should go for him.
Arsenal looked great. In Ozil, they have probably the best player in the league. A few more signings and they would be complete.
Chelsea seem to be clicking in gear now. Schurrle looked like the player he was hyped up as.

Ok then!

Will the Manc clubs restore some pride and win two pretty difficult games.

I am backing them both

The sending off wasn't a disgrace, Naymar is a filthy little cheat but Scott Brown bootes him needlessly right on the spine about 25m from me, sending off all night long!

It was ridiculous by Brown, right in front of the ref as well. Let his teammates down badly

Citeh one down. Joe Hart, once again, the man at fault. What on earth has gone wrong for him in the last year or two? Forster may be fancying his chances for the spot of England no.1 if this keeps up.

Citeh are embarrassing English football again. Fake team built on fake cash.

My dislike of them can be summed up by 3 little words:

Come on Bayern!

Neither were optional Mysti.

Goetze's release clause was activated and Lewandowski is out of contract and made it clear he won't sign a new one.

It still tells a very telling story that they cant hold on to them, and that they want to go to there biggest rivals

And currently sits top of the Bundesliga ahead of Bayern on goal difference. A forward line that contains Reus, Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang is going to create plenty for whomever replaces Lewandowski.

Bayern deserve all the plaudits though. But to be able to snap up the best talent from there biggest rivals doesn't say much about the league

That's a good point for Utd, and a good performance to boot.

Not sure Citeh being played off the park by the best team in Europe is such a shock. Bayern showed last year they're a level above the next tier, and Citeh ain't even on that

looking at madrid's group. It looks seriously weak.

Madrid have scored 10 goals to 1!

juve have drawn both games against the same opposition and sit in second spot!

United probably quite satisfied - about as satisfied as Roy Hodgson was against Ukraine, I'd imagine.

City? Years and years away from being a top team in Europe.

Arsenal and Chelsea? I reckon one of them could well win it.

So you think citeh will get out of this group then?

and bayern just were on top form.

Citeh looked clueless graf.

A team like united or chelsea would have set up against bayern and made it very difficult to get beaten!

citeh got brushed away and they showed zero respect for them, so they got what they deserved

I think it was pretty obvious to everyone watching that match that Bayern were on top form, and as we saw last season, when Bayern are on top form there isn't a team in Europe that can get near to them.

Honestly not really a surprise City got beaten by the class of Europe Mysti

Olly as i stated chelsea or united would have been very hard to beat. I can't say this enough. Its fact

citeh have a seriously poor record in this comp and aren't playing to the team they are facing
.

And if that isn't obvious to people watching then they haven't watched enough football. The problems were citehs making as much as bayerns class

It's all about what has happened before.

Citeh underperform in europe, man u and chelsea are heavyweights, and even when they are outplayed they are still competitive and allways have a chance of nicking the game

you are actually joking aren't you?

you are talking about the team that won in 2011 and before that got to plenty off finals, semis and quarters almost every year for 10 straight. You are basing everything on a year.(a year when they still won the plate comp!!)

The one team in Europe that came close to Bayern ironically was that poor German feeder team Whistle you know the one that beat them at the beginning of the season in the curtain raiser.
