even though the game is a dead rubber it's a shame curran couldn't make the squad

Great performance from Sibley (and Amla). Must be one of the highest ever (and longest) by an 18 year old.

Re: surrey vs yorkshire LV county championship
Surrey have just tweeted that they reckon Sibley is the youngest player ever to make a CC (Ha, it's 200 in Roman Numerals... It amused me!) 200. Huge achievement if it is true, will stand for a good while I would think!

Prophetic words from Guildford. 512 balls later....guildfordbat wrote:Calm down, dear! First priority facing around 450 is to get an opening partnership going and make sure you don't lose the match. Time in the middle is good experience for Sibley as well. Need to realise, I'm afraid, that Yorks are a strong side and we're not.jimbobgooner wrote:even in a dead rubber game we cant get the run rate above 2 a over

Rashid currently taken 2 - 220 off 54 overs - the most expensive bowling figures of the season.

Sibley finally departs for 242. A brilliant innings of exemplary composure.

Not quite so cracking with the ball in this match - bowled 55 overs in the Surrey innings. So he is probably feeling cream crackered at the moment.CF wrote:Is Rashid playing? He's had a cracking season with bat and ball!

Wow, Ballance with another 50, that puts him past 200 for the match. Perfect timing for him.

Yorks now 175-5, needing just 25 more to draw level. A good effort, led by the Viscount, but unless something special happens soon can't see us getting them all out. Looks like a winning draw - far better than most of us expected and some encouragement for next season.
In the words of Churchy - Winter well.

Re: surrey vs yorkshire LV county championship
because of the slow start we never gave ourselves enough time to bowl them out
something we can look into at the start of next season

Apols for being so quiet in here recently.... A message for Guildfordbat....I haven't forgotten your hot tip about Dom Sibley!!...what a performance... News certainly reached Chichester!
Looking forward to next season already! Hoping sincerely that some lessons have been learnt this season... Lets hope that the team can really bring on some of the promising youngsters next season!
