Terrible refereeing, having been clearly fouled Suarez should be allowed to take the free kick as quickly as possible. Where is the advantage in having to wait for the defensive team to regroup?

Think so far this is showing me that Liverpool are not title contenders, but Arsenal could very well need a train to stop them.

If football stats were covered like NBA stats, would Cazorla have registered a goal, rebound and assist with that goal?

Goalkeeper going long hand for a shot, terrible technique.
Some really poor players and poor play on display in this game- where have the great pl teams gone?

they have had two slightly under par performances as well, so good to also get back on good form.

Don't think much of it, poor game.
Mignolet, sakho, Flanagan, cissoko, szczeney, sagna, Gibbs, rosicky are all substandard for this level of football.
Mertezacer, koshielney, Henderson, toure aren't much better.
Rodgers tactics, 3 at the back vs arsenal who leave players up and have loads of 3rd man running? Crazy, poor.

"all substandard for this level of football."
this level.. what is this level you speak of! Is this in the parallel universe level!
oh dear ent- they are this level and at the upper end of it!
There is just not enough players at the top top end to have 20 PL teams that are as good as Spain or Germany!!

Don't presume.
Today wasn't winning ugly, it was being presented with 3 gifts due to a disasterous offside trap then being bossed for the rest of it.
Just have to face it that the epl is going through a slump in quality, no point in pretending otherwise.

I don't think i've seen you write anything positive about anything Ent, you're a pessimist who seems happy in misery.
Arsenal and Liverpool like every other big team in the premier league are weaker than they were a few years ago but with that comes a moving of the goalposts of what the required standard is. When Liverpool had Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard and Sissoko in midfield then no their current midfield would be good enough but right now it is. I don't think a single current Arsenal player would get into the invincibles team but again they don't need to be that good in the current league.

Very presumptuous, analysing poor football doesn't make one a pessimist.
Standards dropped, quality has dropped - it's not great to watch and the teams will struggle in Europe - why would you be positive when discussing it?
Bad miss from Suarez there.

I'd take Pires, Ljunberg and Gilberto without a seconds thought, they played with out and out wingers so none of the current squad would into that style of play.kingraf wrote:Ozil for Pires? Santi for Ljundberg? Current flamini for Gilberto?

Easy win, poor game.
Rodgers set up was absolutely crazy for this game.
Hopefully arsenal have a tiring game midweek as they will batter us next weekend as things stand.

I'm not too concerned by the champions league, it's always taken a back seat to the premier league, winning it is nice but the best teams win their domestic league.Ent wrote:It's a few years we are talking, not decades.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread
Ent there is nothing wrong with analysing poor football, but you miss the good play, every team does bad things in every game, you allways concentrate on them. Watch any game in the world and you would come to the same conclusion by analysing it in that way
Many of us look at the positives over the negatives, IF There are more of them!!
tbh its usually just linked to a general mood. . Every film is unwatchable, every football game is low quality, because you concentrate on the bad. I am sure we have all been there at some point!
I dont think the quality of united is helping you though!!

God toure turning his back on that shot for the goal as well.
Seriously am I wrong thinking the standard is poor and pointing it out.
Good strike but that is criminal from toure and poor technique from mignolet.

I always treasure the wins from 07-09 as we had multiple strong sides going deep in the cl those years.

People have always bought into this self perpetuated arsenal hype about great football, there no different to most decent sides.
United cut through a poor Fulham defense and city demolished a terrible Norwich side bit no ones raving about them.

Your type are all over the stands, especially those clubs which attract glory hunters. Moaning before anything has happened, talking tactics like they understand them better than the manager and just generally being an arse hole. We've a few of them at Newcastle and they are generally told to shut the Frak up.Ent wrote:I think you'll find what I write on a message board has absolutely no effect on any club, thanks for thinking in so important - carry on.Lumbering_Jack wrote:Fans like you are what brings the club down.
