Wish our game could actually take place. Would be a great game.
I decided to omit ripping POC for his mistake at the weekend. Have you seen it?? Contact skills went missing.

He just got a bit of a spanking in contact in his own 22 and castres through it wide and scored.
I haven't got one player starting who started in last years game. Only Marler, Cooper, Lowe and Gaskell remain.

Sorry mate, that wasn't very clear in your tactics, it looked to me like that was the pack that you'd be having for the second half, not just starting it.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Play him at 13 - I would ahead of Smith away from home. Just think you lack someone with a bit of extra grunt, like say a poweful Nonu/de Villiers type player. I do like Barritt as a player, but honestly think that he would struggle against the top class players to smash through a defensive line. If you can get someone else like that then you've argauably got a great backline - would have given you a win at home

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Having Steyn at 10 and Fourie as 13 is quite a big contributing factor to the Boks wings not needing hands to catch a ball. JDV is a very intelligent player, watched him loads of times when I was young as got told he was the perfect 12 to learn the game from. Positional play is spot on and defensive work great. Picked him this week as thought he would be best player to stop Nonu breaking the gainline, and had in my tactics that I'd be bringing a backrower like Elsom or Messam into the backline to get double hits on Nonu.
Not sure how many will pick up on it, but think if you can stop the threat of Nonu offensively you can stop Sarries building momentum as Nonu is such an unbelievable threat.

Best player to stop Nonu though, and pretty certain that Giteau and Evans have enough play making ability to stop the perceived inability of de Villiers passing game!

Just seen your question about Goode or Lahiff. Can't really see anything mate as would need either similar English or better foreign and would need a full back in any deal for Goode, and can't see you letting AAC or JOC go for him.

Yeah, i do have a reasonable depth at loosehead and 4 of them are English. Not sure how I managed that.
Would do Waller for Alex Gray.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
A lot of the thrust in the Times article even from Robshaw himself was that he would rather get in the team and establish himself before even being considered for Captaincy.
O shea thinks he is another richard hill. Richard Hill was not selected for England until he was 24 and Robshaw is currently 25.
He deserves a chance to play however to make him captain would be ludicrous.
I still am unsold on him as an England player though

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
where did that come from??
I was reading chris and a few other people saying they were sold on Robshaws leadership. Thought it was on your page but obviously not.
Might be on one of the previous pages.
Whenever i use my desktop it is always about 3 pages behind the current page as rarely use it.
What for Waller

domingo always gets rated and quite happy to keep him and wait for him to recover, as no point in getting a player who isnt anywhere near world class in return for him.
webber's a heck of a lot better than you give him credit for, but if that's what you want to believe I wont attempt to change your opinion.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Hartley's actually played like that for the best part of 6 months (since the Wales game) - he had one poor game at the WC and one bad game for Saints since he came back home, which was on tv, so I get why people would think he is on bad form.
Webber has played very well for Wasps this season and their scrum is actually not going backwards like it has been because he has actually got two solid locks to support him. He's not a bad scrummager, again I understand why people would think that because of how Wasps scrum has performed over last 2 seasons, but not the case anymore.

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
Not starting any of them this week, got to bring them in slowly and get them to learn all the calls etc.
I'm regretting making some errors with signings in the foreigns at the moment, should have kept my money for bigger players than Mason, Lapandy, Savea etc.
Pretty sure that Gill, Bleyendaal will shine in a season or twos time.

Newcastle Falcons
15 Greg Goosen , 14 Suka Hufanga , 13 Corne Uys , 12 James Fitzpatrick , 11 Ryan Shortland , 10 Jimmy Gopperth , 9 Jordi Pasqualin , 8 Ally Hogg, 7 Will Welch , 6 Taiasina Tuifua , 5 Andrew Van Der Heijden , 4 James Hudson , 3 Euan Murray ,2 Michael Mayhew , 1 Grant Shiells ,
Replacements 16 Joe Graham , 17 Ashley Wells , 18 Dan Frazier , 19 Adriaan Fondse , 20 Mark Wilson , 21 Chris Pilgrim , 22 Jamie Helleur , 23 Tom Catterick
Glad to see Welchy given game time at 7 but it just pisses me off that Gopperth is in poor form and we keep Catterick on the bench who is a solid goal kicker and a real talent! Hufanga should give us some finishing class and Tuifau should make an impact in the back row.

What did you make of Gooson last night? Looked a pretty decent full back and managed to play his way out of danger a few times.
Need a 7 big time! We got schooled from where i was watching granted i'd had a few beveys to keep warm. Will Skinner wouldn't be a bad call!

Re: Newcastle Falcons Fantasy Rugby
I havn't watched it yet on the TV so i'v missed the little things like that. Welch has some potential at 7 but i think he could be a pretty powerful 8!
Hudson was pretty big round the pitch and impressive in the lineout!. Jordi's service was all over the shop.
Fitzy was typical in the sense that he ran into brick walls and made head way which is all he really does although i'm sure he ripped the ball a few times.

Difficult to tell I think. Wallace has looked a top talent but I think you could have put anyone in the Quins side of late and they'd look decent.
Jones looked good with the under 20's in the summer but will have to play well to look decent in the wasps pack atm. Really been hit with injuries.

Great front row you have out this week. Barcella despite
Playing in side struggling looks good again. Amazed how few
Games he has played in his life.
Originally Toulouse
And played 1 time in 2 years and has 50 appearances in 4 years for biarritz.
Off to watch biarritz vs Toulon on new years eve. Looking forward
To hari and Barcella. How are they bottom ?

My Biarritz trip is my Xmas present to myself staying in san Sebastian Spain it's the gourmet capital of world and 40 mins from Biarritz so ideal. All basques.
Barcella is all action like Keith wood. If you do everything at 100% you breakdown more often.
I used to keep scrambler bikes and they were
Tuned 100% and went wrong every 3 or 4 races. Moody Ferris Keith wood Michael jones etc all in same bracket for being balls out and not knowing when to slow.
Barcella vs SA years ago best performance by a prop for years. Healy came near in one wc game but Barcella can scrum
