I only reach 12st if I eat enough cow pies - and weigh myself after a big christmas dinner and while holding the dog because weight falls off me like dandruff...
Anyways, who needs weight and power when speed, agility and a big pass makes up for everything! (Big left pass, I can only pass right if within a couple of meters, can't pass any further )

I know - it's a wonder how I managed to get a 1st class Civil Engineering degree and make a decent career out of myself given the severely disadvantaged upbringing I had!
Joking aside, I do love it when I hear people from private schools saying they want to be a hairdresser or work in a bar or something. Nothing wrong with those professions, but mummy and daddy are never happy having spent 60k+ on their education!

My you have done well. Can you use cutlery as well?
The problem with many kids from private school is that they have no real incentive to work. Far more fun to open a snow boarding design shop in France, an internet start-up selling posh things to posh people at high margins but not in any quantity to justify the swanky set-up in Farringdon or "find yourself" with a round world trip, financed with an interest-free "loan" from Parental Bank, than to do a real job.

That reminds me, does anyone want to buy a snowboard? I have some wicked designs inspired by the Kafkaesque social isolation of queueing for an Edinburgh season ticket, and it will be shipped to you in a box made from Tanzanian Monkeypuzzle wood and bound by locks of hair from the aristocratic virgins of the Loire Valley.funnyExiledScot wrote:My you have done well. They only cost £46,000, though for tax reasons my daddy wants me to work in euros.

Shame on you!

Also! According to ASBO, there is a chance that the Scotland tour over the summer may be split into two squads!

A bargain. Tanzanian Monkeypuzzle wood is "off the hook" (spoken in a plummy-rah South West London accent). I'll have three.

Two great posts.
I recognise all the types described. Over here, there's a new type. People who are so wealthy that they don't need to work at all, ever. You see them walking around malls in packs, pawing uselessly at giant smartphones because they've lost the power of speech, buying yet another FP Journe or Rolex Datejust with straps made of unicorn hair that they just don't need.

I always say to myself, fES, one unicorn hair strapped watch is enough.
Anyway, you don't want a watch as an Edinburgh fan. You can usually measure time by the scoreboard. For example it takes most sides about 5 minutes to register their first score against us, and a further 10 minutes to register their second. Round about the 25 minute mark we tend to get plucky and Laidlaw will score a penalty, before the inevitable away score right before half time. The queue for overpriced alcohol takes approximately 15 minutes and then you catch the last 5 minutes of half time "entertainment" (although this feels more like an hour). The second 40 minutes is easy. The opposition will score roughly every five minutes and we don't have any interruptions, because Solomons doesn't like to use substitutes. Round about the 75 minute mark the medics usually get the paddles ready, because Nel goes a funny grey colour. Why buy a watch?

See, you all think that unicorn hair is a mythical substence than you cannot obtain!
However!
We all know that it can be obtained by harvesting the pubic hairs of Mark Bennett (once they grow in)

Well I must say. We've just had a wee thunderstorm and as far as thunderstorms go, it was pretty feckin tame!
Was fork lightening which looks impressive but there was no big bangs and it fizzled out quite quickly!
Looks good but lacks punch and doesnt last long!!! We shall call this storm "Scott Johnson's attack plan"

If there's a quote for most insults in fewest words this must be a contender. Obviously not a contender in the way the MFL were contenders this season but in the " in with a chance of winning" type of contending.
p.s. Those of you living north of the wall wouldn't have seen the English Democrats party political broadcast last night: at one point they said they are in favour of independence. Yes, their independence. From the countries they colonised. Reminde me of Silvio Berlusconi campaigning in favour of celibacy.

Getting a freebee from ASBO - Take it and run - this is as rare as an Edinburgh win - and is unlikely to be seen again in our lifetime

I presume that Asbo will be paying in food stamps or sachets of sugar that he's stolen from the tea room in Marks and Spencers on the High Street.

Secondly, are we really going to resort to "your momma" jokes to get over the 1k?
If so. Your momma so fat, she has two international time zones!
