Watching Floyd Mayweather's Gala dinner...
Been an interesting show. The minister of sports gave a very great speech discussing his razzmatazz combining with the money team. He was then presented with a robe with Mandela emblazoned all over it
Rough notes of the Floyd interview...
- Watched a montage of his greatest hits... And promptly critiques his Guerrero performance
- Discusses his vast wealth... Must admit the guy is pretty rich.
- A montage of his trip plays - For some reason he is dancing with the Zion Christian Church
- Phillip N'dou, Floyd's last hometown fight comes to stage... Demands just one more fight... Floyd says N'dou bruised him and he doesn't like being bruised. N'dou retorts by saying he doesn't like being knocked out. Floyd replies "You still fighting? I'm about to retire, and you're not on my radar - speak to Showtime or CBS"
- Mayweather is asked about his last fight. Confirms he will retire September 2015.
- Asked about the Khan fight. He replies he hasn't hasn't signed anything, and would like to see the contract details, if Khan really does have a contract...
- If he does fight Khan everything has to be on his terms.
- discusses leaving Top Rank briefly, Bob Arum wasnt happy..
- First thing he did when he got out of prison was get into his Bentley. First thing he did when he got home was get into his Lamborghini.
- Makes a sniping comment about owing the IRS
- "we can check Manny's bank account and we can check my bank account".
- He has made $120 million in 45 minutes.
Must admit, despite the bragging about material wealth, he seems a very genuine fellow, and he has presence. Needs to work on his articulation, but if he does go the "Dinner with..." route, it should be very profitable for him (1000 people paid $1500 for a thirty minute spurt).
Will hopefully be up on YouTube soon to provide a link.

He's a prat of the highest order. I wouldn't attend one of his nights if you paid me a thousand pound. Will be full of his odious team, kissing his ass.
And Truss would be in the front row with his TMT t-shirt on.

Re: Watching Floyd Mayweather's Gala dinner...
Let me tell you guys something.....I hear all this..... he's a conceited braggart.... and a convicted sex offender stuff...
Me I don't particularly like Manny and think there's questions he needs to answer..
.But If I ever saw him on the street in Las Vegas or in a casino...I'd be completely STARSTRUCK to be in the vicinity of a SUPERSTAR who has impacted my life for the last ten or so years and given me wonderful performances and memories good and bad !!!
I'd do everything I could to shake his hand or get a photo with the guy........
Forget all the bravado on here.........You'd all feel the same way If you ever saw Floyd.....
"Cherrypicking" talk would go right out of the window..and you'd all be telling him how much you admired him...........Just like I wouldn't mention "PEDS" around Manny........and doing the same damn thing.......
Not suggesting anybody pays a thousand bucks 0r even 500 I wouldn't!!! but let's be honest with ourselves....Right ??.......

I definetly wouldn't shake the mans hand , he is the most despicable personality I've come across in boxing , as much as I admire him for boxing skills, how can you admire full fledged prize t--t .
Put it this way if you had a daughter you wouldn't want her bringing that little midget home would you ?

Even worse...He's pushing old timers down the ATG rankings....Hey Rod..
Only got sons Roddy...........and If they ever want to bring Floyd home they are more than welcome....
He can sign a few things while he's here............He's a braggart for sure but the r**e case like Tyson's was a little open to interpretation.....
Perhaps If he'd been born before the war you'd feel different.........Ray Robbo knocked his Mrs about didn't he ??

Agree with TRUSS.
Mayweather gets a lot of haters such as Chris, LJ, rowley because they simpley don't get him.
The thing is if Chris or rowley had the money Mayweather has they would be COMPLETLY different people to what they are now.
They would have various cars and a diffeent watch for everyday of the week.
They would have a different woman for everyday of the week as well.
And they damn well know it too.

Re: Watching Floyd Mayweather's Gala dinner...
I am a Mayweather fan as a boxer but as a person he can come across as a prat. However people both on this board and the general public regard Ali as the man for refusing to go to war and being a great boxer.
This is despite his racist comments about fellow black people when the fight for equality of black people one of the most topical issues of the day(could argue it still is). If Ali said some of his comments today he would more than likely do prison time.
Although Floyd can be a flashy Muppet he is in no way as abusive or downright arrogant as Ali was in his prime. Sometimes over time we forget the stupid comments people make and instead remember them for the sporting greats they were and perhaps with Floyd he will get the same in the future.

but you don't know the events surrounding his fight with his ex.
I seriously doubt Floyd threw the first punch as he is a counter puncher. She most likely came out aggresive and simply got outclassed

Floyd has been a racist on camera also.
Larry Holmes said Floyd will end up broke. Nobody will be wanting to shake his hand then.
Is anybody interested in shaking Rocky Lockridge's hand? Without Jr's money that's were Floyd Sr would be right now.

2010
"I'm on vacation for about a year," Mayweather said. "As soon as we come off vacation, we're going to cook that little yellow chump. We ain't worried about that. So they ain't gotta worry about me fighting the midget. Once I kick the midget ass, I don't want you all to jump on my dick. So you all better get on the bandwagon now... Once I stomp the midget, I'mma make that motherf**ker make me a sushi roll and cook me some rice...you know how it is baby, we gonna cook that motherf**ker with some cats and dogs."
Floyd doesn't seem to know sushi is Japanesse.

Quite so.....Like I said It's one thing spouting about someone in cold blood........But seeing them in the flesh is quite another.....I've met Hagler who I never much liked and like most superstars there was an AURA about him.......
Manny, Mayweather, Tyson etc ........Don't come a long more than once in a lifetime...........If I can meet them I will......
I don't really know any of them enough to think they are despicable............Mayweather is cultivating an image..
If you like Tyson you rightly question the trial.....which sucked.........If you don't he's a despicable r****t........
Same with Floyd....
I'll make up my own mind.............Some on here have agendas.......

Floyd actually plead guilty. But people still think he's innocent.

Floyd's done some stupid things in his time and boasts about money but how much is an act! He gives a lot to charity probably more than anyone else in boxing but it doesn't get publicised as much as he has a bad boy image! He use to be pretty boy Floyd and say all the right things he realised that didn't work so turned into a brash show off! Brilliant move!

My argument I think was relevant.......Mayweather was guilty in a court of law.....
But I will retract because we don't want to go down this road and I respect you as a contributor...
But will add as I'm sure you aware.......That one can be guilty in a Court of law and not have done the crime.....
But fairplay..........

Yeah donating $26 million to the hurricane/typhoon relief fund was NOT a good idea...
1) thats not tax deductible
2) There's seems to be a tornado around every corner over there.

Re: Watching Floyd Mayweather's Gala dinner...
What more does a man have to do to prove his guilt? Floyd isn't going to do time to enhance his image.
He can do no wrong in some peoples eyes.

Re: Watching Floyd Mayweather's Gala dinner...
He was found guilty...........
I will say though that tariffs for admitting your guilt in America do tend to be a lot less than for being found guilty after a not guilty plea is entered........
Unfortunately lots of black defendants see their lives being bargained away by counsel after being told to plead guilty regardless of proof............Probably knowing just by their color they are half guilty already in some eyes.........
BUT I'll concede your point because we don't want to go down this road...
I'm maybe a tad more open minded than you I'd venture to guess...
but fairplay..

What's to be open minded about. Do you look at a regular man who is convicted of assault and think he may be innocent? Celebs whip up a media frenzy and gullible people tend to get sucked in.
